Samara and Samara region - biting forecast

The Samara region is one of those regions where there are many different bodies of water, which are quite full of fish and which are convenient for fishing. Among them are the main river of Russia in its middle course, many other rivers and rivulets, a large number of lakes, reservoirs, and eriks. Paid fishing is also developing in the region, making it possible to more reliably organize the process, make it more civilized, more comfortable, and more convenient.

Paid reservoirs in Samara and near the city today are not exotic, but an already formed network of ponds and lakes. They offer fishing for different types of fish. Here are both carp and crucian carp, which were usually bred in such places; trout, sturgeon, which many fishermen had previously only read about in specialized literature.

Ponds in Dubovaya Umet

This name means two separate ponds. One of them is located in the settlement of Dubovy Umet. The road to it starts from the southern regions of Samara and continues through Verkhnyaya Podstepnovka in the direction of the village of Samarskoye, located on the bypass road. You need to cross the latter and move towards Oak Umet following the existing signs. Beyond the village they continue to move in the direction of Rivne-Vladimirovka. After driving about 1.5...2 km, behind the power line that crosses the road, turn left and after 1 km you approach a pond. The total distance from Samara (bridge over the Samara River) to the fishing spot is 28 km.

The pond in Dubovoy Umet is stocked with carp and crucian carp; There is a perch in it, but small. The cost of fishing is 300 rubles. per person.

The second pond is located near the village of Sukhaya Vyazovka. To get there, you need to turn right in front of Dubovoy Umet, get to the junction of the secondary road (there is a sign) almost at Sukhaya Vyazovka and turn left. Then they drive past the military unit, reach the left turn of the road and drive straight along the dirt road. After passing two forest plantations that cross the direction of travel, turn left. Further straight to the pond itself. From Samara the distance to the reservoir is 33 km.

The pond near Sukhaya Vyazovka is home to crucian carp. The last one is elbow sized. For the opportunity to go fishing they pay 50 rubles in the spring. per person, in summer and autumn - 150 rubles.

Seryoga

2015, October

I tasted Dry Vyazovka today. I only caught palm crucian carp. I put two feeders on the carp - they stood without moving from early morning until 2-00 in the afternoon.

I see the reason for this semi-failure in the weather. It got colder in the morning, by the time we arrived at the reservoir. This is probably why the carp “decided” to take a break and didn’t bite. Locals say that there is a good one in the pond.

I went to the pond in Dubovoy Umet. On Saturday, I focused directly on crucian carp - naturally I took baits for it that I could buy and make myself.

I was there early, at 5:00. I didn’t fish for long, until about 10-00. The catch was 4 kg of silver crucian carp, although small, about the size of a palm. I was fishing with a feeder and casting it to the middle of the reservoir. The fish were caught mostly using maggots.

Two fishermen with float rods sat nearby. They threw at 5...10 m. Their catch turned out to be minimal - about 5 fish each. They tried to catch with a worm, maggot, and semolina. The result is the same - the bite is bad.

They charged me 400 rubles for fishing on the spot. They seem to charge pensioners 100 rubles. less. Vacationers and children are allowed to the pond for free. There seems to be no limit on fishing.

Lake Khilkovo

There are three reservoirs, they are located northeast of Samara. It is approximately 40 km away.

To get to the lake you need to go to Krasny Yar and just before the town turn towards Podlesnoye, to the right. Behind Podlesny, at a fork, we turn onto the left asphalt road. After 5.5 km turn left towards Shilan. Having arrived in a settlement, you need to ask the locals about the lake - finding it yourself is problematic.

The middle lake is often visited by fishermen, especially those who have vehicles. There are countless crucian carp in the reservoir, and there are also carp. Nothing is caught other than these fish. The greatest depths (3 m) are at the dam; the pond itself is 250 m long, and wide – it can be crossed with a feeder (about 70 m in places). Carp bite best on corn. Crucian carp is caught with a worm. Mostly, the crucian carp caught is small and does not reach the palm of your hand. But at night you can catch a big one using a worm.

The lower lake is home to very large carp. They can even be seen through the water. But there is a lot of grass in the water, so it’s difficult to choose a place on the reservoir, and it’s difficult to attract fish.

There are a lot of crucian carp in the upper lake. It is caught almost constantly, even from the ice in winter. You can fish from the shore, on the bottom.

Fishing on any of the three lakes costs 400 rubles. per person per day. There is a parking lot nearby; guards are not allowed to leave cars on the shore. The fishing spots are clean and well-groomed - it’s clear that the administration is monitoring this.

A group of people went fishing. We chose the middle pond. We fished for two days using feeders and tried them with float rods. For donks, corn, cake, worms. On the float - maggot, semolina mash.

For the entire time, the catch for everyone was 2 carp. One carp in general - up to 600 g. Both were caught on donkeys. We caught palm-sized crucian carp with fishing rods. But a lot, almost a bucket for everyone.

They paid 800 rubles. from each, immediately 2 days in advance.

While we were at the pond we saw how the locals were setting up nets. This is bad. They told the watchmen - they promised to take action. But if this happens, it means there will be, or already are, problems for fishermen like us.

Fishing in the Samara Region

Fishing in the Samara Region will appeal not only to beginners, but also to experienced fishermen. Experienced fishermen know for sure that the Samara region boasts many “fishing” places, and the catch will be guaranteed with almost any tackle.

The abundant presence of reservoirs and rivers in the region attracts the attention of not only local residents, but also fishermen from other regions of the country. In the suburbs of Samara you can even find places that have never been touched by man.

If you are a fan of white fish, then the floodplain of the Sok River will be the ideal place for you. You can also catch crucian carp, roach and many other fish here, which are a little less common. The natural feature of these waters is amazing in that you can use almost any gear when fishing.

Using modern fishing rod models, anglers boast of large-sized perch and pike. Pay special attention to the area that is located between the Volga River and the railway line. On this line there are several “rich” reservoirs that have long been favored by local residents.

Fishing in the Samara Region on the Right Bank of the Volga

On the right side of the Samarskaya Luka there is an amazing “labyrinth” of many rivers and reservoirs. It is this place that Samara fishermen value most.

Every experienced and inexperienced fish “hunter” will find the optimal place for himself, and the caught trophy will not leave anyone indifferent.

If you prefer predatory fish, then pike or perch will definitely bite the bait. Pike perch are often found in this area, and if your gear and equipment are carefully prepared, then you are guaranteed a rich catch of asp.

Among this variety of reservoirs, the largest lake is Shelekhmetskoye, which has officially been given the status of a natural monument. The lake is narrow, but thanks to the unique bottom topography, its waters are home to a variety of fish. There is a place for both fishermen and ordinary vacationers.

This half of the famous Mother River also features a numerous pattern of rivers and lakes. Fishing may be difficult due to the difficult conditions of small bodies of water, separated by small islands.

There are several reservoirs in the region. However, each body of water boasts an abundance of fish such as bream, carp, silver carp and even large-sized catfish.

Kutuluk Reservoir

This private pond is 60 kilometers from Samara. They get to it from the regional center along the road to Kinel-Cherkassy. They drive to the town of Otradny and before it turn to the village of Chernovka, to the right. In Chernovka, turn right again and follow the dirt road after half a kilometer to the reservoir.

Fishing on the Kutuluk Reservoir is available all year round. In winter, the ice is always full of tents in which local fishermen catch bream in baited areas. Bream are searched for at depths of 7 meters. They catch perches, but closer to the shore, at a depth of about 3.5 m. For the sorog you need to go 300...400 m from the shore. In order not to be left without a catch, you can rent baited holes from the rangers.

In summer there is excellent spinning fishing. Pike and humpback perch bite well. All the fun costs 90 rubles, they don’t take local money.

2015, January

I went to the reservoir with friends on Saturday. It turned out that they allow fishing for free. We decided to go fishing for two days, so we rented a cottage and a heated house on the ice, which, at your request, the rangers will put in any place you choose.

It turned out that you can even get food here on the spot. But we didn’t take it, since we took everything with us.

Bream were caught, though up to kg and medium. They caught up to a dozen, and some of them were used to cook fish soup. The rest goes into the freezer - the wife will sort it out at home or add salt.

In addition to fishing, we went to the local bathhouse and went to the shooting range to shoot with a crossbow.

In general, I liked it. Both relaxation and fishing. We recommend.

Fishing on the Volga. Samara Region

The largest river in Europe, the Volga is also among the ten largest rivers on Earth. While marginally touching Kazakhstan, in general the Volga is the heritage of Russia. The length of the Volga, not counting man-made reservoirs, is 3530 km. It flows through the territory of 15 constituent entities of the Russian Federation: Tver, Moscow, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ivanovo, Nizhny Novgorod, Ulyanovsk, Samara, Saratov, Volgograd and Astrakhan regions, the republics of Chuvashia, Mari El, Tatarstan and Kalmykia.

Being the largest river in the world that does not flow into the ocean, the Volga receives over 200 tributaries in its flow. T.N. The Upper Volga, from its sources to its confluence with the Oka, flows mainly through the forest zone; further, the Middle Volga (before the confluence of the Kama) is located in the forest-steppe zone; finally, the Lower Volga, up to Astrakhan, lies in the steppe zone.

Along the Volga there are 8 hydroelectric power stations of the Volga-Kama cascade and 8 reservoirs. With their construction, the seasonal level of depth fluctuations is small (except for spring-autumn floods), but the wave height reaches 1.5 meters. The Volga opens up from ice from Astrakhan upwards from mid-March to mid-April, freezes from Valdai downward from late November to early December; ice-free 200-260 days annually. In summer the water temperature reaches +25 C.

The Volga is connected to the seas: to the Baltic - through the Volgo-Balt canal, to the White - through the White Sea-Baltic, to the Azov and Black - through the Volgo-Don. Due to reservoirs along many banks of the Volga, shallow backwaters and estuaries have arisen, very favorable for fish and its fishing. The river is home to 70 species of fish, of which up to 40 are commercial. These are roach, herring, sabrefish, catfish, burbot, perch, bream, roach, ruffe, rudd, river eel, carp, ide, pike, bleak, silver carp, pike perch, whitefish, gudgeon, bersh, verkhovka, silver bream, and also “royal fish" - sterlet, sturgeon and beluga.

Fishing on the Volga in the Samara region is good for professionals, first of all, because it gives them the opportunity to try out any gear. The abundance of fish and the variety of hunting grounds for it, completely untouched corners of nature and the vast Zhiguli Sea are a set of conditions that consistently attract fishermen from all over Russia.

The mouth of the tributary river Sok, for example, attracts whitefish hunters. Crucian carp, silver bream and roach, and the slightly less common tench will not leave floaters and feeders idle, and spinning rod owners can compete with large perches and pikes. The section between the Volga and the railway in the direction of the Zhiguli Sea is especially good - the population density of peaceful fish here is very high.

The southern side of the Samara Luka, literally dotted with lakes, oxbow lakes and channels, is another small paradise for a fisherman. Crucian carp, silver bream, rudd - among whitefish, perch and asp - for predator hunters, tench and burbot - for every lucky person who is ready to show patience. But there is practically no bream here, God knows why. But his younger brother, the bream, walks in abundance.

The left bank of the Volga beyond Samara is actually one giant floodplain, a kingdom of small channels, water meadows, lakes and small islands. And, although there are a lot of fish here, it is difficult to “turn around” - everything is too miniature. And regardless of your fishing goals, you should pay attention to ensuring that your gear is light and, if possible, inconspicuous. And in the middle of summer, when the waters are blooming and the channels are overgrown, non-snagging spinners, surface lures, and California-type rigs become of great importance. You risk losing other gear too quickly and, as a rule, to no avail.

The Saratov Reservoir, in its part belonging to the Samara region, is rich in roach, silver bream, rudd and crucian carp. Large bream, carp and tench are found a little less frequently, and in the depths it is worth looking for trophy specimens of catfish. The reservoir will also delight you with exotics - silver carp and grass carp, which appeared here as a result of systematic stocking of fish. But you shouldn’t count on large individuals.

Spinning fishermen, on the contrary, have plenty of freedom: perch, pike perch, ide, bersh and asp will closely watch your spoon, and there is hope for trophy specimens. But bream, on the contrary, is scarce - roach and silver bream are too actively competing with it for food supply. And in recent years, poachers have begun to appear at the reservoir as often as fish...

It is worth noting: in the Samara region there are strict bans on fishing during the spawning season. There are also those who enforce these laws. But you shouldn’t give in to calls from locals to provide you with luxurious paid fishing. To put it mildly, nothing special or additional awaits you in this case, except for an intrusive travel companion. This is not slander, but a factual conclusion drawn on the basis of dozens of precedents.

Pond Aglos

This is another place where Samara fishing is possible for money. Pond in Berezki. You can get there by taking the roundabout; the settlement is located almost in the middle between Samara and Zelenenkoe. You will have to travel only 25 km.

The pond is available to fishermen from eight to eight. Adults are charged 300 rubles, children are admitted free.

The pond contains mainly carp. Weight is up to 1.5 kg, but there are also 3-kg specimens. The latter can only be caught by long casts - to the middle of the pond. But there is a snag there and before you catch something you have the option of being left without any gear at all.

2015, July

Fished with a friend and family in the middle of the month. 300 rubles from us. They took nothing from the child and wife. They caught it on floats. They brought maggots with them and also took worms on site. These two baits were used to catch fish alternately.

It didn't matter. Or something is wrong with the weather, or the fish don’t welcome family visits to the pond, or something else... We barely caught it with fish soup, which the same wife cooked up. The only fish are carp. Most of them are half the size of a palm, about 10 pieces - no more than a finger. They were, of course, released. I let my little son go - he was delighted as they ran away.

We talked with the huntsman and the locals. Everyone unanimously says that there are large crucian carp in the pond. But no one could explain why we couldn't catch a single one. As always - yesterday there was a good catch and come tomorrow - there will definitely be big fish biting.

It’s difficult to talk about the feelings of the trip. We seemed to have a good rest, even you can’t say much bad about the fishing. After all, a fish was caught. And if it’s small and not much, this happens in all bodies of water.

Fishing on Lake Samara

They also catch fish here. Mainly perch. But, they say, there is also carp. I myself saw all sorts of young fish there - plenty of them. The children tried to catch them with their palms. I spotted a fish about 30 centimeters in the reeds. But since the lake is deep, a large fish is probably sitting at a depth. There are even fishermen's stories about a giant perch more than half a meter long caught on Lake Samara. What if it’s not just stories at all, but the truth?

However, in the summer it is unlikely that vacationers will be very happy with people with gear. Who wants to get hooked?

Well, it’s better not to think about spearfishing in Samara in the summer – people are swimming around. In general, the water here is clean and visibility is not bad, up to 4-5 meters (for our region this is very good). But, according to the locals, there are not many large fish here - all of them have been caught a long time ago. So there is no one to shoot with an underwater gun. Only use a fishing rod to catch for your beloved cat.

However, fishermen come here in spring and autumn. It’s just better to take a boat with you, the fishing isn’t very good near the shore.

Swimming near cliffs is prohibited!

And be careful - the banks are very high, steep and unreliable. You shouldn’t swim close to them on a boat - they might collapse right at that moment.

For the same reason, you shouldn’t drive up to the edge of cliffs in a car, or just go to the very edge. It's just dangerous. This text was stolen from the World Roads website (worldroads.ru)!

Blue Lake Samara is a godsend for a photographer. Depending on the lighting, the water here can be of different shades - from emerald green to bright blue. And the shots come out simply amazing. I was there with a small Nikon compact – and it seemed like the photos turned out pretty good.

How to find Samara Lake (based on Google map)

How to get to Samara Lake from Rostov-on-Don: along the M4 highway towards Krasnodar to the village of Samarskoye. At the traffic police checkpoint, turn right and drive along the asphalt to the first intersection. Then turn right, then cross the railway, and then immediately turn right onto the dirt road. It will lead to the car park.

Paid parking – 150 rubles. You cannot drive to the beach itself. But he is very close - about five minutes.

The Rostov-Samarskoe minibus also runs. We traveled by car, so I don’t know the minibus schedule. If you have any questions about the lake, there is a VKontakte group at https://vk.com/club555908 - everyone who likes to relax on this lake gathers there. And local residents also come there, you can clarify something with them.

What are your impressions of Lake Samara? At least from my photographs, if you weren’t there yourself.

PS This is an old article. How things are there now - read the article from 2021 - blue Lake Samara: turquoise water and sandy beaches.

Pond in the village of Barinovka

The pond is artificial, located behind Barinovka - 45 km from Samara. You need to get there from the bypass to Prosvet, then to Domashka and Barinovka. All along one asphalt road. After Barinovka there is another 5 km and there will be a junction (at a very sharp angle and with the direction almost backward) of the road with asphalt on the right. They turn onto it and drive until the first exit from the road to the left. This is a dirt road, it goes along the planting and leads directly to the dam of the pond. When it rains, this dirt section becomes difficult to navigate.

In the gear allowed for fishing: fishing rods of all known types, spinning rods, fly fishing rods, mugs, carp rods. In winter, you can set up jigs, cast bait vertically, and use jigs and float winter fishing rods. Everything else is prohibited.

Fishing is allowed at all times of the day. There are places for fishing on the banks, and there are places next to them where you need to dump garbage. During the day, you can launch a boat and fish from it in the tail water area of the pond. At the end of the fishing trip, the fisherman presents his catch to the administration, it is weighed and, if it is more than permitted, an additional fee is charged.

The catches may include carp, carp, silver carp, grass carp, pike, perch, roach, and crucian carp. There is a special fishing rule - caught trophy fish must be released. You are allowed to take photographs with it, but you must handle it in such a way as not to cause any harm.

It costs half a thousand rubles to fish on the pond for a day. from one person. The fisherman can come with accompanying persons and his family. You don't need to pay for them.

The work on the pond for breeding fish and organizing fishing is done very seriously and competently. When going to the reservoir, you can first contact the director of the company, Mikhail. Phone 8 (937) 1733381, email address

Fishing is just great!!! And it costs half a thousand. Even, for me, it’s not enough. For such service and such fishing you can charge more.

The places on the shore are comfortable, thoughtfully designed - there is room to turn around, sit down, and not disturb your neighbors. It’s convenient to have a place to throw trash and go when needed; There is a table where you can have a snack, sit with friends, and talk.

I come here all the time. In 2015 for the seventh time. Each time for a couple of days. Of the places that are farthest from Samara, this place is probably the best. At least for me and my requirements for payers.

For fish: I catch crucian carp using a float, on a feeder. The last one further away, probably because it is larger, under 700 g. You pull - you feel... Lures - maggot, worm. On a float and smaller fish bite well on semolina.

I threw carp sticks at the carp. The bait contains corn and boilies. Always in the catch. Among the records is a fish weighing 5.7 kg. I took it for a boilie with strawberries.

When fishing for crucian carp, you come across perches, although they are rather small. Sometimes a roach - here it is called a sorogoy.

I always leave with great regret and wish to return quickly. Which is what I do periodically. I advise you too.

The pond is interesting. I travel constantly. Always with fish. At first there were problems, until I realized that it is better to catch (carp) with boilies and pellets. For some reason, the bite on other baits is either completely worthless or non-existent.

It’s easier with crucian carp - when you get caught in the weather, then maggots, and worms, and maggots come. By the way, under the shore the fish are mostly palm-length. But if you throw 10...15 m, then you can catch a kilo.

Pond in the village of Kurumoch

Get to the pond from Samara to the northwest along the Volga, to the village of Kurumoch near the railway. Distance 20 km. Access is convenient at any time. There is a beach, a place where you can put up a camp or a tent.

The pond is large - 500x100 m with 3-meter depths. There is silt and a lot of driftwood at the bottom. Among the fish in the reservoir there are carp, roach, pike, silver carp, dace, and carp. They can be caught with a float rod, donka, feeder, or spinning rod.

Entrance to the territory is paid - 100 rubles, fishing costs another 800 rubles. You are allowed to catch up to 8 kg of fish; you pay extra for more.

Some types of fish in the Samara region: photos and descriptions

  • Pike is a fairly fast-growing predatory fish that consumes small fry and adults. It is found mainly in shallow waters near the shore. Spawning begins early and lasts a long time (up to 30 days). For this reason, the reproduction of pike does not have any special difficulties and is observed annually, although some natural and industrial factors still affect the death of eggs and fry.
  • Brown trout, or brook trout, is also a representative fish of the Samara region (see photo above). Trout from the salmon order lives in small rivers and streams. The environment is characterized by the presence of fast currents, cold water, and a pebble or sandy bottom. This fish is found in the Samara region in the northeast (Kamyshlinsky and Klyavlinsky districts). In recent years, the species has disappeared from river basins.

fish of the Samara region list

  • Pike perch is a rather small species that lives in reservoirs of the Samara region. The main reasons limiting the growth of its reproduction are the limited number of breeding males, their massive and illegal catching in the period before spawning.
  • Smelt, or European smelt. This fish has two forms: large and small. The appearance is characterized by an adipose fin, an elongated body, and medium-sized scales that easily fall off. The dorsal fin is carried slightly back. The body of the fish is translucent. Smelt can be 10 cm long, and smelt can be up to 30.
