Features of Lake Akakul

The reservoir, curved by small bays, stretches from southeast to northwest. Within the boundaries of the water area there are several small islands; 200 meters from the western shore there is a large island with dense vegetation. Within a kilometer zone from the lake there are stone quarries, a water pump and wetlands of the Akakul tract. Lake Uvildy is 10 km to the southwest, Bolshaya Akulya is 1.5 km to the west, Tartysh and Ulagach are 2–3 km to the east.

Lake Akakul is elevated above sea level by more than 250 meters. Its parameters are:

  • water surface area - 10 sq. km;
  • maximum length - 4.8 km;
  • maximum width - 3 km;
  • depth - about 5 m (average) and more than 12 m (max.).

The reservoir was formed as a result of tectonic processes, so in some places it is surrounded by rocky cliffs. The northwestern coast is overgrown with reeds and sedges. The bottom is muddy in places, pebbly and sandy in others. There is an accumulation of algae. The forests in the area are mixed. The natural flow of water occurs towards lakes Ulagach and Bolshaya Akulya.

The chemical composition of clean and clear lake water contains a whole complex of microelements.

You can see beautiful sunsets and sunrises on the lake. During the season, many vacationers come here. Ticks are found in forests and near wild beaches. Only territories of organized zones are treated with special compounds.

Name of the reservoir

The Russified toponym is translated from the Bashkir language as “flowing lake.” Most likely, Akakul received this name because it is flowing.

Fishing on Lake Akakul

  • Types of fish: ruff
  • perch
  • roach
  • bream
  • golden crucian carp
  • silver crucian carp
  • tench
  • pike
  • whitefish
  • ripus
  • Artificial settlement: Lake Akakul was previously repeatedly stocked with bream and whitefish.
  • Fishing spots

    Throughout the reservoir, both from the shore and from the boat. The second method is preferable - you can fish in deeper places. When catching a predator, you should pay attention to the part of the water area adjacent to the western coast - aquatic vegetation is well developed here - both near the shore (including thickets of reeds and reeds), and somewhat further from it - at the bottom, which are natural ambush sites for predatory fish .

    Fishing Features

    Due to the increased background radiation, not all fishermen go to Lake Akakul (probably for the same reason there is little garbage on its shores). However, those who visit it speak well of the reservoir.

    The most interesting thing here is bream fishing. This fish is found in sufficient quantities, although it is represented mainly by “plywood” - specimens whose weight usually does not exceed a kilogram. Larger bream are also caught, but mostly at night. At the same time, it is very important to know the “fish trails” - places on the lake where schools of bream move and feed. Breaches who have studied a reservoir well, as a rule, almost always return with a catch. It is sometimes useful to watch them, especially in winter - focusing on the tent “cities”. Important: among the caught bream and bream there is often a certain percentage of worms - from a third to a half, although sometimes it happens that all the fish in the catch are clean.

    The second most popular fishing is pike. There is also a lot of it in the lake, which attracts spinners and girdle fish. Usually, quite acceptable specimens are caught - from a kilo to three, but from time to time this also happens - only small things begin to bite - weighing no more than a kilogram, or even less than half a kilo.

    Ripus. This fish can also be caught regularly on Akakula (in winter).

    Other fish, for example, perch and chebak, are also caught here, but they are usually considered as bycatch.

    IMPORTANT: several years before the writing of this article, one enterprising fisherman who visited Lake Akakul submitted part of his catch to the SES for analysis. The certificate that he was given upon completion of the study made his eyes widen, because the content of radionuclides in the fish noticeably exceeded all established standards (information from the fishing Internet forum of the Chelyabinsk region). Hence the conclusion: before going to Akakul, you should think three times.

    Fishing

    Lake Akakul (Chelyabinsk region) is rich in fauna; fishing attracts lovers not only from the Southern Urals, but also from all over Russia. Pike, roach, ruffe, whitefish, perch, crucian carp, ripus, bream and many others are found here in huge quantities. Akakul is stocked with rhipus and whitefish annually. It is believed to have the largest number of fish species in the entire area. There are also crayfish here. You can fish from the shore or from a boat, but at depth the prey is larger. You can stay on the lake as a “savage”, in a tent, or you can book a fisherman’s house. This is a 2-storey cottage, where even a large company will have space. There is a sauna, billiards and barbecue area. You can rent boats. Lake Akagul (Chelyabinsk region) is loved by many fishermen, some come here every year.
