Lake Vysokinskoye in the Leningrad region

Vysokinskoye Lake 03/04/2015 11:20

Lake Vysokinskoye is located 12 km southeast of the city of Primorsk.

It is more convenient to get there by personal vehicle - along the Primorskoye Highway to the southern tip of the lake. Or by diesel train from Zelenogorsk to the railway station. Art. Ermilovo and then walk 6 km.

The length of Lake Vysokinskoye is about 6 km, the average width is 1.5 km. The banks are medium-high, sandy, covered with pine forest.

The color of the water is greenish, transparency is about 2 m. Overgrowth is weak - reeds, elodea, and water lilies predominate. The Senokosnaya River, flowing from Lake Pionerskoye, flows into Lake Vysokinskoye. A channel flows out into the Gulf of Finland (width about 5 m, depth - 1 m).

The fish population is represented by perch (including large ones), ruffe, roach, pike, whitefish, and burbot. Less common are bream, loach, and pike perch.

In the spring, roaches and, rarely, ides enter Lake Vysokinskoye along the channel and feed on burdock larvae. The best places for fishing are in the area at the confluence of the river. Haymaking, in summer roach and pike are good here.

You can fish with a donkey, a side fishing rod, mugs, or a spinning rod. At depths of 5 m, starting in September, whitefish are taken.

The best tackle for it would be a spoon baited with a small worm. You can fish with a float rod from the shore, but it’s better from a boat. In winter, the lake is good for perch, ruffe, pike (there are large ones), whitefish, and burbot.

The number of tourists visiting the lake is quite high.

Reviews about recreation and fishing on Lake Vysokinskoe

Fishing on Lake Vysokinskoye

In the Leningrad region, Lake Vysokinskoye is popular among fishermen of the Primorsky region. Fishermen rarely come from more distant areas, since there is no particularly large catch here. The lake is home to a standard set of fish: roach, bream, perch, ruff, and pike. Less common are burbot, pike perch, and whitefish. They enter the lake through channels from the Gulf of Finland.

The best place, according to reviews of fishing on Lake Vysokinskoye, is the mouth of the Senokosnaya River. In the summer, thanks to the abundance of roach, pike hunt here. Since the end of June, bream can be found here in abundance. Since October, whitefish have often been biting in Lake Vysokinskoye. Fishermen advise fishing from a boat, but there is also a bite from the shore. The best tackle is a spoon baited with small worms.

In recent years, there have often been reports that all the fish in the lake are infected with tapeworm. The downside is the popularity of the lake among local residents. In the summer, due to its proximity to the bay, spontaneous tent camps appear on the shores of Lake Vysokinskoye. Since there are no populated areas here, vacationers do not hesitate to be noisy - groups walk until the morning. On weekends it is difficult to find a quiet place for fishing.

Hi all! In principle, the trip left positive impressions, if you don’t pay attention to the ineffective first day, although the weather was gorgeous (I got a tan), and I also rode around the lake and just took a break from the bustle of the city. Just like Alexander, I came home pretty exhausted, but this is more likely due to the fact that I was enjoying the chanson coming from the opposite shore on the lake until 2 am, and woke up at 4.30 am. I left the lake at about 20.30, and by 22.30 I had already unloaded the car in the garage in Aviagorodok (I was driving through Kronstadt), + 30 minutes to the house with a visit to the store.

An interesting motor is called “hangkay” with a power of 3.6 hp. bought for 14 thousand. on the catfish 340 boat as a motor oar. The motor copes with its role in full.

Thanks to everyone who was at the lake. Glad to meet you, the trip was very educational. I hope that in the near future we will be able to get out again.

Eww. Well, it seems like I got even with Vegas. I'll upload a video soon. It’s not for me to evaluate what happened, there’s not enough material, it’s impossible for one to capture the whole picture of what’s happening.

Sent after 5 minutes 25 seconds:

I was also glad to meet you. And thank you for meeting me and telling me the nuances. If there were no netmen on the lake, then the fish would have been caught in different and large sizes, everything was knocked out, so the impression of the lake: the water is crystal, the shore is excellent for swimming, but like all other lakes in the region, they were knocked out and I knew the result of the trip in advance. It didn’t make sense to travel such a distance, honestly, if I had known the whole picture, I would have gone to my more productive points.

Lake Vysokinskoye, Leningrad region. Fishing and recreation

Every new body of water for a fisherman is an unread book. After reading some (the first fishing trip) you want to return again and again, others you want to forget, like a bad dream. Today I will talk about one of my favorite books - Lake Vysokinskoye. The fishing spots here have been studied for a long time, but every time you get an incomparable pleasure from fishing. It is worth noting that this is not only me - Vysokinskoye Lake makes a good impression on many, and reviews about it are always the most enthusiastic.

I would like to structure my story today in the form of a small collection of tips: fishing here is gaining popularity among young fishermen.

The future of the lake

In 2021, photographs of a map of the Vyborg region appeared in the local media, on which Lake Vysokinskoye was painted over with black paint. In May, residents of Primorsk discovered signs along the perimeter of the lake prohibiting access to it. The roads to the shore were dug up.

The private owner of the territory, Primorsky Universal Transshipment Complex LLC, plans to expand the cargo port by 2022. They plan to cut down 400 hectares of forest for the facility. Human rights activists suggest that the lake may also disappear. According to one version, a transshipment complex will be built on the lake. Currently, the lake is still in state ownership, and activists are trying to prevent the destruction of the reservoir.

At the end of 2021, news appeared that the lake would receive the status of a specially protected natural area, which should ensure environmental safety during the construction of the complex.

Lake Vysokinskoye. Fishing spots

The main question for all novice fishermen is: how to find the best place? I don’t know any universal criteria for identifying the most successful piece of shore, so I always use an echo sounder. But since I have already studied Lake Vysokinskoye in the Leningrad Region far and wide, I can say that the most pleasant and productive fishing will be at the confluence of the Senokosnaya River.

In the summer, pike, roach and fairly large perch bite well here, and spring is a favorable time for catching ide, which is not the most frequent visitor. Ice fishing is especially good here: perch, ruffe, pike and burbot are the most popular crops that can be caught here this way.

The forest near Lake Vysokinskoe is not being cut down for the port

“Green” activists are outraged by deforestation in the Vyborg district of the Leningrad region. According to one version, the forest area along the Primorskoye Highway in the area of Lake Vysokinskoye is being cleared for the construction of a port. However, as Megapolis found out, logging is being carried out outside the boundaries of the future port. There is an industrial zone where they plan to locate another enterprise.

One of the active members of the Green Coalition of St. Petersburg community told Megapolis that tractors and loaders have been actively working in the forest for several months now. Today, December 13, they observed the cutting down of trees in the forest belt located along the 58-60th kilometers of Primorskoye Highway.

The workers cutting down the pine trees refused to show the activists documents allowing them to do this. The Green Coalition is convinced that these people do not have any permits and that they are cutting down the forest illegally.

According to another version, expressed in the comments under the video posted in the “VK” group, the territory is being cleared for the construction of the Primorsky universal transshipment complex.

As Megapolis learned from a source close to the government of the Leningrad region and the Primorsky UPC project, the future port has nothing to do with deforestation around Lake Vysokinskoye. The border of the port complex will run five kilometers from this reservoir towards the village of Ermilovo. The entire port can be seen in the video published on the official website of Primorsky UPK LLC. Therefore, this company is not responsible for those who cut pine trees in the lake area, our source claims.

The territory where forest defenders visited today is historically an industrial zone and does not belong to the forest fund. During the Soviet years, NPO Energia was located here, which built and tested engines for the Buran spacecraft.

With the collapse of the USSR in the early 1990s, the company ceased operations. Since then, the industrial zone, once fenced with barbed wire, has been overgrown with forest. Gradually, even local residents began to forget that the forest around the lake was previously inaccessible, and rocket engines were cooled in the lake itself (they say). However, according to documents, both the forest and the lake still remain within the boundaries of the industrial zone.

To clarify which company plans to resume work on the site of the cut-down pine forest and whether this will cause damage to the environment, Megapolis plans to seek official comments from the press service of the regional committee for natural resources, the Primorsky Criminal Procedure Code and the regional society for the protection of nature.

Vysokinskoye Lake. Reviews about nature

If we talk about the blue field itself, then for the first time I was amazed - despite the fact that there is almost no vegetation here (there are a few water lilies and reeds), the fish here is healthy and tasty. I consider the sandy shores to be the only drawback - in rainy weather you get stuck in this sand almost up to your ears, but this pays off with a magnificent catch and the beautiful nature surrounding the reservoir: pine trees grow around, the air is saturated with the smell of pine. You get the feeling that you are in the taiga, and every minute a lynx will come out of the forest. There are many squirrels in the forest, which are accustomed to the constant pilgrimage of fishermen and love to be hand-fed with nuts, carefully stored in St. Petersburg.

Lake Vysokinskoye. Fishing on summer weekends. Reviews

The last time I went fishing here was on the first summer weekend. Usually we come together with our boss at work, but this time I was alone. As usual, sitting on the shore, unwinding and throwing the gear, I expected the usual catch of around five kilograms, but this time the river gods decided to please me: in one day I caught as much as 7.6 kg of perch, pike and roach! I give the catch for preparation to my fishing and work colleague - she cooks many times better than me, and I did the same this time. She was impressed. And I can only hope that in the future I will be just as lucky the next time I read my favorite book in the vicinity of the Northern capital.
