Where Tyumen fishermen hunt predators

The Tyumen region is a paradise for a fisherman, as is the whole of Western Siberia. Many rivers and lakes offer fishermen many prospects for catching large and sometimes even exotic fish. If you choose the right place for fishing, gear and equipment, you are guaranteed a big catch.

There are a lot of reservoirs in the region for paid and free fishing, but fish are not caught everywhere. Experienced local fishermen can tell you where to fish in the Tyumen region, as well as our map of reservoirs. Local fishermen are not entirely willing to share their fishing spots, so they have to look for them on their own.

What kind of fish is found in the Tyumen region

In the regions of Siberia, you can often find rare species of fish, but there is also a place for common fish in central Russia in these reservoirs. Among the fish that are difficult to find in other bodies of water, the most common fish in the Tyumen region is the chebak.

In paid ponds you can catch trout or catch whitefish. Well, in free reservoirs all that remains is to fish with everything familiar:

  • crucian carp;
  • Carp;
  • Rotana;
  • Ruff;
  • Bream;
  • Podleschika;
  • Guster;
  • Roach;
  • Pike;
  • Perch;
  • Soma;
  • Pike perch.

True, in order to catch a really large fish, the right choice of gear is not enough, you also need to know exactly the catchable place for fishing. Otherwise, you risk returning home empty-handed, or with the gear torn off.

Map of fishing spots

On the border of the Tyumen and Sverdlovsk regions there is a small lake Noskinbash. Often the purpose of fishermen’s visits to him is to catch a chebak. There is a sufficient amount of this fish here and large specimens are often found.

Not far from the village of Laitamak there is a lake called Krivoye by local fishermen. This is simply a paradise for spin fishing lovers. By hooking a medium-sized wobbler onto a spinning rod, you can safely count on catching a large pike. And with jig gear you can conduct a targeted hunt for perch.

Pike Lake, which is located very close to the Irtysh River, got its name for a reason - there are a lot of predatory fish here. Fishermen purposefully come to catch large pike and humpback perch.

In a tributary of the Irtysh River, near the village of Malaya Zerkalnaya, there is Lake Zalatitsa, which is very densely populated by large rotan and crucian carp. There are a lot of fish here, but little food, so the likelihood of catching a trophy specimen increases greatly.

A little to the right of the P404 highway is Lake Svetloye, which simply attracts spinning fishing enthusiasts. They come boats in search of pike and perch. And lovers of float and feeder fishing can only try their luck in catching tench.

Lake Marukhi, located near the E30 highway, is simply overflowing with crucian carp. It is caught using bottom, feeder and float gear. Local fishermen, in order to increase the chances of a big catch, use rubber bands with bottom feeders.

Almost on the border of Kazakhstan and Russia there is a small lake Peschanoye, visiting which fishermen focus on catching crucian carp and perch. If the first fish is caught using bottom and float gear, then for perch fishing, spoons and jig gear are most often used.

Free fishing spots in the Tyumen region

Every time you drive along the E22 highway towards Yekaterinburg, you can see hundreds of fishermen going fishing or returning home with their catch. On both sides of this route there are simply the best places for fishing in the Tyumen region.

Swan Lake is one of the few bodies of water where you can enjoy great fishing for grass carp. Just before going to the pond, you need to take into account that the fish is strong enough and choose the appropriate gear. Crucian carp is also very often found here.

Lakes Andreevskoye and Cherkul attract fishing enthusiasts for rotan, crucian carp, perch and pike. Pike predominate in these reservoirs, so it’s worth equipping your spinning rod with a metal cable to avoid unpleasant surprises in the form of broken gear.

Tura River

The Tura River, which flows through almost the entire region, is known among fishermen for perch, bream, chebak, bream, pike, and ide is rarely found there. But this is not a complete list of the river’s aquatic inhabitants; Siberian rivers very often delight fishermen with pleasant surprises.

In the city of Tyumen itself, on Profsoyuznaya Street there is an excellent place for fishing from the shore (it is marked on the map). In the oxbow of the river, not far from the village of Shcherbak, fishermen are actively fishing for bream and roach using feeder gear. At the mouth of the Tura and Pyshma rivers, near the village of Sazonovo, you can see fishermen who came to catch perch.

Also, fishing lovers can be advised to go to lakes Nizhneye Tarmanskoye, Yantykovo, Kuchak and Ipkul. These reservoirs are located nearby and the ichthyofauna there is approximately the same. Crucian carp, large carp and medium-sized tench often delight fishermen.

Free fishing in the Tyumen region

Western Siberia and the Tyumen region, in particular, are seen by many as a fishing paradise. Few experienced fishermen have not heard of trophy specimens of many species of fish caught in the region. But not everyone manages to catch a decent option; the reason for this may be an incorrectly selected fishing location or fragile gear.

Here are the TOP 10 best places where you can fish for free in the Tyumen region:

1. River Tura

Description, what kind of fish is found, how to get there:

You can try your luck in fishing on local rivers and lakes. Those who do not have the opportunity to get to distant bodies of water prefer the Tura River, which flows within the city limits, and its oxbow lakes. However, according to experienced fisherman Vitaly Lazarev, the river itself is not the best place. Over the years of operation of enterprises along the banks, the water has become heavily polluted. And there is a lot of fish in Tura: chebak, dace, bream, pike perch, perch, burbot, crucian carp.

Preferred places of the river beyond Tyumen, towards the mouth:

  1. The Lesobaza area, at the confluence of the canal, is famous for pike perch.
  2. Closer to the mouth, in the Yarkovsky district, where the village of Sazonovo, perch is excellently caught, sterlet and nelma are found (catching this fish is prohibited). It is worth knowing that there are rented areas for net fishing here.
  3. In Tyumen, on Profsoyuznaya Street, fishermen fish from the shore.
  4. Place near Salairka in the Tyumen region, next to the Geologist tourist center. In the summer, roach, pike and bream, dace and pike perch, ruff and perch bite. Burbot loves autumn; in winter, ruffs and perches are more often caught.
  5. The places near Borki and next to the Yembaevsky dachas are praised.
