Rating of free reservoirs
Not all anglers know where to go fishing in the Oryol region in order to be able to fish for free using any type of permitted gear. There are several reservoirs that are very popular among local residents and visiting fishermen.
Oka
Very exciting free fishing in the Oryol region is possible on the Oka River. In this place, the water artery is just beginning its journey, so its average depth is about 3 m. In some areas there are holes up to 8 m. A large number of channels and bays create excellent conditions for the life and reproduction of various species of fish.

- chub;
- ide.
In the pits you can count on catching catfish and burbot. Good places for fishing are located both in the city of Orel itself and near the settlements of Znamenka and Otradnoye, located downstream. Well-worn roads lead to these areas, so you can drive here in any weather.
Lavrovskoe
Lake Lavrovskoye is located in the area of the same name and is a favorite vacation spot for tourists and anglers. The reservoir is located in a nature conservation area, but you can fish on it for free.

The ichthyofauna of the lake is represented by the following species:
- carp;
- crucian carp;
- perch;
- gudgeon;
- pike;
- roach.
This lake has a stable bite. Even in bad weather from a fishing point of view, a reservoir can give an angler a rich catch.
Invited
One of the best places for fishing in the Oryol region is Lake Zvanoe. It was formed on the site of a former quarry where sand was once mined. These types of reservoirs are characterized by great depths and high water transparency.

The reservoir is located 70 km from Orel, so on weekends it is often crowded. The ichthyofauna is represented by predatory and peaceful fish species. You can catch roach and perch using float tackle at any time of the year. Spinning anglers often manage to catch good pike and pike perch. The most stable predator bite is observed in autumn.

The Zusha River does not have significant depths, but can claim to be one of the most fishy reservoirs in the Oryol region.

Frequent riffles, steep banks and fairly strong currents create excellent living conditions:

In creeks and local pits, pike perch and pike await their prey. On calm reaches with a uniform current, roach, perch and bream are caught.
Indian
Lake Indovische belongs to the karst type of reservoir. Its total area is just under 23 hectares. It has clear water. On the banks everywhere there are traces of wild animals that come here to drink.

For fishermen, Indovishche is interesting for its trophy pike. Predators weighing more than 8 kg are regularly caught in this reservoir. Feeder fishermen and fishermen who come here can boast of large bream. The roach bites well on the float tackle.
