Despite the ubiquity of paid reservoirs, there are still people who categorically refuse to visit them. The logic here is simple: why pay for a pond when you can go to any free river and fish to your heart’s content. Let us allow ourselves to disagree with this statement and give several arguments:

  1. Paid ponds are always teeming with fish. Here people help nature by artificially increasing the population, so fishing is guaranteed to be successful and of high quality.
  2. Banal amenities. Man has been fishing since ancient times, and then conveniences were alien to him. But now, we are all accustomed to the benefits of civilization, and it makes no sense to give them up.
  3. Inventory. Not all fishermen are avid fishermen and do not keep a huge arsenal of gear at home. If you don’t have a dozen fishing rods, lures, groundbaits, no problem; when you come to a paid reservoir, you can rent all this.
  4. Environmental Safety. No matter how sad it may sound, modern rivers and lakes are not clean, especially in the industrial Moscow region. And paid ponds are always clean, since their owners take care of the cleanliness of the reservoir.

And this is only a small part of the benefits of fishing on a paid pond. In addition, today in the Moscow region there are several hundred specialized sites that provide everyone with fishing, trophies and a high level of comfort. It is very difficult to choose one specific site, and we decided to make this task easier for you by selecting 10 of the most interesting options. Our rating includes both bases with and without accommodation.

The best paid fishing ponds in the Moscow region with accommodation

Accommodation ponds are full-fledged tourist bases where you can come for a few days and stay in a cozy house somewhere in the forest. An unforgettable vacation in itself, but first of all it’s fishing, which you can enjoy around the clock. You can safely go to such bases with your whole family or friends. They are also great for corporate events and business meetings. In the lap of nature, in silence and away from the bustle of the city, it is much easier to make important business decisions.

What kind of fish is caught in the spring in the Moscow region?

Many fishermen enjoy fishing in the Moscow region in the spring. After all, it is in the spring that the ice cover begins to melt from reservoirs, and fish rise from wintering pits and begin to actively feed. In spring you can catch quite a lot of fish, including large specimens. But don’t get carried away and forget about the spring ban. It is the responsibility of each fisherman to familiarize himself with the list of spawning prohibitions in a given region and comply with them.

Let's take a closer look at the features of fishing in the Moscow region. Ice begins to melt from reservoirs near Moscow in mid-April. But sometimes it comes earlier; there are, of course, years later. It all depends on weather conditions, which are very difficult to predict.

Fishing in spring using winter methods

Fishing in the Moscow region in the first months of spring occurs mainly with winter gear. I don’t think it’s worth repeating, you’ve already read this material a few lines above.

But do not forget that the fish becomes more active as the water warms up, so you should worry about the reliability of your gear and replace thin fishing line with a more powerful one. Spring fishing from ice most often occurs on bottom anomalies (dumps, edges and holes). Most often you can find fishermen with a reelless rod and a float rod.

Spring fishing near Moscow in the spring with a spinning rod

As soon as the reservoirs are completely free of ice cover, armies of spinners move out in search of the predator. In early April and until the end of May, almost all predators begin to actively feed, including perch, pike and pike perch. This period is known to fishermen as the post-spawning period. It is during this period that it is best to catch a predator using a spinning rod. This can be done from the shore or from a boat, and use spinners, wobblers and various silicone baits as bait.

Fishing in spring with feeder and bottom gear

At the beginning of May, feeder fishing enthusiasts begin to actively explore the reservoirs of the Moscow region. During this period, all peaceful fish prepare for spawning and begin to feed with increased activity. During this period, roach can most often be seen on the hooks of fishermen. They catch it in places without a current, or in areas of a reservoir where it is very weak.

Spring fishing with a float rod

Probably the most popular method of fishing in the spring is a float rod. This tackle is also considered the most versatile, as it can be fished from the shore and from a boat. The choice of fishing location is made based on the preferences of the fish that are going to be caught. The fishermen's catch mainly includes crucian carp and roach; carp is less common.

The best paid fishing ponds in the Moscow region without accommodation

Accommodation bases are more expensive, which is not surprising. And for people going fishing for the day without an overnight stay, it simply doesn’t make sense to overpay. They don't need a house or a hotel room. Enough gazebos where you could drink tea and relax, and most importantly a pond with an abundance of fish. There are a lot of such lands in the Moscow region. They differ both in the level of comfort and in the availability of additional services. It is impossible to say for sure which base is the best, so we have selected five options at once, providing the most varied services, but first of all these are paid fishing ponds, and only then everything else.

Where to fish in the Moscow region in winter

With the onset of frost, most of the reservoirs of Moscow and the region are covered with ice, and hundreds of fishermen go to try their luck at reservoirs, rivers and lakes with winter gear. The good news is that in mid-December the ice on the lakes becomes strong and lasts until the end of May. Although, these are all statistics, and a lot depends on the temperature in different years.

It is best to fish in winter on reservoirs, large lakes and rivers of the Moscow region of medium length. The most popular methods of fishing are fishing with a jig with a nozzle, with a reelless rod, and a float winter fishing rod, winter fishing with lures and girders. Well, it’s not difficult to guess that the first two methods are used to catch peaceful fish, while the others are aimed at catching predators. Let's talk more about this. But first, I recommend watching the video.

Fishing with jigs with a nozzle and without a reel

As the name suggests, the main difference between these gears is the use or absence of bait. Fishermen use bloodworms as bait, less often maggots and worms. As mentioned above, peaceful fish are caught with such gear, but perch is often caught with reelless baits. Fishing with a jig is an active method of fishing; you will have to run around the pond in search of places where fish accumulate. But nevertheless, this is the most popular way of fishing in the Moscow region.

Fishing with a winter float rod

The similarity of a winter float fishing rod with a summer one is almost one hundred percent, only the length of a rod for winter fishing rarely exceeds 30 centimeters. This is primarily due to ease of transportation, and the fact that a fishing line is used to catch fish, not a fishing rod. The remaining components are similar: a small float on the main line, several pellet weights and a hook. I use a small jig instead of a hook. The baits used are the same as for jig fishing. It is preferable to fish in this way in places with a weak current or without it at all.

Sheer lure

They lure on the reservoirs of the Moscow region using balancers and small spoons. Most often, small pike perch and perch are caught; pike bite much less often. Big fish are caught very rarely, so you shouldn’t count on a trophy. Places for fishing with a spoon in a plumb line most often include various anomalies on the bottom (pits, drops, edges).

Winter fishing

But on the girders you most often catch pike, and quite large ones at that. Live bait outperforms artificial baits in terms of catchability. I don’t think it’s worth describing the design of the vent, everyone already knows that. Such gear is installed in pike mooring areas and on its migration routes. To be more precise, these are dumps and vast stretches.

Fishing in the Moscow region in autumn

In autumn in the Moscow region you can catch a lot of fish, both in paid and free reservoirs. The heat gradually goes away, and the fish begin to actively feed, fattening up before leaving for the winter. During autumn fishing, special attention should be paid to predatory fish.

In autumn, the predator begins to actively feed, forming flocks. And even beginners can catch it. In the Moscow region, predators are caught using both live bait and spinning rods. The places for catching predators are the same as for spring fishing, these are dumps, holes, edges and pools. They fish with spinning rods using various spinners, wobblers and silicone baits.

Catching a predator with live bait

Catching a predator in the Moscow region with live bait is a completely separate topic for discussion. There are a lot of ways to fish with live bait; it will be necessary to devote a separate article to this. The main thing is to find the right place, pay attention to the sudden change in depth. The ideal place is a pool in the vicinity of driftwood. Well, an equally important factor is the choice of live bait. Choose a medium-sized fish based on the weight of the intended catch.

Options for you

The largest bodies of water in the region are artificial, but there are natural rivers and lakes. All of them are connected to each other by small rivers. Here you have a chance to catch bream, roach and bleak, and perch. However, reports on fishing in the Moscow region suggest that for a more relaxing holiday and a guaranteed bite, it is better to visit various fishing bases, each of which is replete with certain underwater inhabitants. In paid reservoirs, fish are specially imported and bred, so all you have to do is enjoy the active bite.

Recently, the choice in favor of the latter is being made more and more often. The bite is affected by climate change and environmental conditions, as well as the increasing number of poachers. However, fishing reports in the Moscow region are encouraging. You have every chance to catch pike and carp, carp and trout. Descriptions of the reservoirs should help you choose the most suitable location.

Roach fishing gear

The roach's bite is capricious: the float bounces, shakes and sways from side to side, or instantly disappears and immediately jumps out of the water. Choosing the moment to hook is not easy even for an experienced fisherman. The bite is especially unreliable in summer when there is an abundance of food. In autumn and spring after spawning, the bites are more decisive. You need to know the habits of this fish so that when you press hard on the float or barely noticeable vibration, you can feel that the roach is biting. Based on the above, gear for catching roach should be light, sensitive and properly loaded. When biting, the fish should not feel the weight of the load. As a rule, they use a flexible, lightweight 4-5 meter rod (in summer). The fishing line is 0.12-0.14 mm, in winter it is advisable to use a fishing line with a diameter of 0.10 mm, with a small hook with a short shank. In the spring in the Moscow region, on rivers, roaches are caught using bloodworms, worms and caddis flies; with a bottom fishing rod - for a worm; among half-flooded bushes and in creeks with a weak current - using a jig with bloodworms. In July and August there is successful fishing for grasshopper or honeydew; as a rule, the tackle in these cases is not loaded. In winter they fish with float rods and a jig with bloodworms or burdock. Sports (game only) fishing without bait using a jig with the addition of beads, foam rubber or polystyrene is common. When hooking, you must remember that the delicate lips of a roach can easily be torn off. Once hooked and rushing from side to side, the fish can scare away the school. Therefore, it is necessary to bring it out faster, and raise it to the surface of the water only at the last moment, since it splashes heavily.

Secrets of experienced people and choosing a place

Fisherman in a boat
Source: , pixabay.com Spinning fishing involves active movement of the fisherman around a body of water, frequent changes of bait and adaptation of fishing to the behavior of the fish in the body of water, taking into account seasonal characteristics. Predatory fish are found almost everywhere in the Moscow region, but catching them is a task that requires considerable fishing experience. Some even gut the first predator caught in a pond and analyze the stomach contents in order to match the chosen bait as closely as possible to the fish’s diet.

Each spinning player has a set of his own observations and secrets that come solely with experience. For example, in a quiet river backwater where pike likes to hide, the first unsuccessful retrieves do not mean that there is no pike there: sometimes it takes a lot of time to anger the predator, for which you can specifically “extinguish” the spinner or wobbler when casting, or make super-fast retrieves. These actions provoke the pike to attack, and only the fifteenth or even the twentieth cast can be trophy.

Those spinners who have recently switched from spinners to wobblers, due to inexperience, make “non-stop” retrieves, and the wobbler is constantly in motion or even buries its nose into the bottom. It must be taken into account that a predator will very often attack the bait at the moment it stops, “hangs”. This is especially true for perch: it can chase the wobbler, make playful pseudo-attacks, but it is at the moment of stopping that the attack instinct is triggered. This, however, does not always work, and you should be more careful with a sinking wobbler - stopping too long will lead to the fact that it will completely sink to the bottom and get caught on a stone or snag.

There are a lot of nuances in spinning fishing, but even a beginner can catch a predator where it is found in sufficient quantities. There are hundreds of different bodies of water in the Moscow region, and it hardly makes sense to specifically go to the opposite part of the region for fishing. When going fishing for one or two days, it is better to choose a large body of water nearby, with convenient access, and a bank that is not swampy or overgrown with dense bushes. In the Moscow region, suitable locations are located in the north, south, east and west of the region.

In a southerly direction – Oka and Pakhra

Fish on a hook aquaculture fishing catch
Source: RIAMO, Yulia Titova The most famous place for fishing in the south of the Moscow region is the Oka River. A spinner can expect dozens of different trophies: pike, perch, asp, burbot, pike perch, chub and even catfish are found here. A suitable place for fishing is located near Serpukhov - along the Simferopol highway you need to cross the bridge over the Oka and turn towards the village of Mikhailovka, then turn towards the river onto a country road passing through the field.

Fishermen simply call this place “slabs”, since a gas pipeline runs under the river here and part of the bank is concreted. The current in this place is quite strong, with riffles, and near the coastline itself there are eddies with a reverse flow. These features attract pike perch, which begin to hunt in the evening. Here you can catch large asp and chub.

In the center of the river there is a narrow elongated island, which can only be reached by boat. From the opposite “island” shore, the type of fishing will not be different - a hard spinning rod with a dough of 5-7 grams and a fairly large tackle - a favorite spinner (“twos” and “ones” will fly out of the water due to the strong current) or a suitable a wobbler with medium depth (if the blade is too short, the wobbler will be thrown out of the current, and a blade that is too long will immediately lead to a snag). But the other side of the island may already appeal to fans of light and ultra-light fishing - the channel contains plenty of perch, small chub and pike. True, it is better to wear a leash, since sometimes large pike are found here, and it costs nothing to bite the fishing line.

For those who prefer fishing closer to Moscow, we can recommend the Pakhra River near Podolsk. Fishing places are located near the villages of Strelkovo and Ivlevo, which are separated by the Simferopol highway. The advantage of this place is convenient access and a relatively small number of competing fishermen. At first glance, an overgrown and swampy shore may seem like a drawback, but in the thick willow roots that go deep into the water, the predator hides and watches for its prey.

You should seriously prepare for fishing in this place: be sure to take a wader or fishing overalls with you. Such equipment will allow you to walk chest-deep in water and throw the bank along the bushes. Despite the likelihood of biting large fish - for example, pike or burbot - it is better to choose a short “light” so that the rod does not interfere with making your way through dense growth on the shore, and its light weight prevents your hands from getting numb when casting with outstretched arms.

In the north there are reservoirs

Fishermen in a boat
Source: , pixabay.com In the north of the Moscow region, a short piece of the Volga flows, in the city of Dubna. There are widespread stereotypes among inexperienced fishermen that fishing on this river necessarily promises the capture of a trophy specimen. The Volga is really good for fishing, but only downstream – in the Tver and Yaroslavl regions.

In the northern part of the region, anglers should pay attention to reservoirs. Experienced fishermen know that we are talking about a cascade of six such reservoirs, connected by a canal named after Moscow - these are the Klyazminskoye, Pirogovskoye, Pyalovskoye, Uchinskoye, Pestovskoye and Ikshinskoye reservoirs. All of them are located between Dmitrovskoye and Yaroslavskoye highways within the boundaries of the Moscow Small Ring. It is worth remembering that fishing on the Uchinsky reservoir is completely prohibited.

The most common predators here are perch, pike and pike perch. And the stories about catfish caught in these places are more like fishing tales. There is no universal “spinning” recipe for these places. The main thing is to pay attention to the weather, especially the strength of the wind and its direction. Since these are quite full-flowing and deep water bodies, fishing can be ruined by a surge wave - therefore, on a windy day you should not choose a leeward shore for fishing.

The most convenient and catchable place in these parts is the section of the Moscow Canal between the villages of Novoseltsevo and Stepankovo, which are connected by a forest country road. Spinning fishing here will be comfortable even in strong winds, and the pine forest adjacent to the shore will not leave any nature lover indifferent.

In the east direction – Klyazma and Moskva River

Girl on an inflatable boat
Source: , pixabay.com The eastern direction cannot boast of an abundance of large bodies of water. Klyazma is of greatest interest to spinning players here. Good places start along the river from the city of Losino-Petrovsky all the way to Noginsk and further to Pavlovsky Posad. The width of the river in these sections is such that a spinning rod can span the entire reservoir, while maintaining long and high-quality retrieves.

It is here that a valuable and quite rare fish for the Moscow region is found - burbot. To catch it with a spinning rod, it is better to use a retractable leash and use a jig as a tackle. Burbot, although a predatory fish, is far from aggressive. This method of fishing allows you to make slow retrieves with a smooth deepening and raising of the jig - the burbot will attack the bait when it appears at its nose.

The Moscow River also flows in the southeast of the region, where you can count on productive fishing near the city of Bronnitsy. The river here is wide, and one cast cannot cross it, so a small inflatable boat with the ability to drop anchor will be very useful. All the same varieties of predatory fish are found here as in the Oka.

The disadvantage of this place is that it is very popular among fishermen - you should not count on privacy with nature. But here you can always communicate with other spinners and gain valuable experience.

In the west - the Moscow River and reservoirs

Fisherman
Source: , pixabay.com In the west of the Moscow region, fans of river spinning fishing will appreciate the section of the Moscow River upstream from the village of Nikolina Gora. There is an equipped parking lot and a good descent to the river. The river in this place can be completely crossed with one cast.

The fast current and average depth in this area create excellent conditions for catching chub, the weight of which can reach two or more kilograms. This predator usually hunts in the early morning and for a short period of time after sunset. Insects falling into the water are his favorite treat. Therefore, the most suitable tackle will be small wobblers that resemble beetles, butterflies and dragonflies. Particular attention should be paid to the fishing line: if it is clearly visible in the water, the likelihood of a bite will decrease. So a thin and durable “braid” in light colors is best suited.

Considering the western direction, one cannot fail to mention two large reservoirs - Mozhaiskoye and Ruzskoye. On the Ruza Reservoir, its northern side is excellent for fishing, namely the elongated bay, on the shore of which the villages of Khomyanovo, Oselye and Frolkovo are located. The location is advantageous in that the fisherman will be protected from the high waves that often form on this body of water. Moreover, pike perch regularly enters the bay, the capture of which will delight any angler. If the active predator does not bite at all, then there is an opportunity to go deep into the bay, where the Pravaya Pednya River flows into it, and try your luck in catching a pike. Fishing with spoons and wobblers is almost impossible here, since the tackle will immediately get caught in dense vegetation. But a simple “oscillator” with a non-snagging hook or a popper that can be thrown into windows free of water lilies will prove very effective. The wiring should consist of sharp swings of the spinning rod followed by reeling in the free fishing line. The tackle will move jerkily along the water surface, creating dull “squelches” with its blunt, indented nose. This sound provokes the predator into a lightning attack.

As for the Mozhaisk Reservoir, due to its considerable size, there are plenty of places for fishing. One of the most profitable and at the same time picturesque is the shore of a small bay opposite the village of Kriushino. You can come here for several days, setting up camp in a pine forest, from which the water is only 30 meters away. The inconvenience will be that the boat will have to be dragged onto a high and steep bank.

The success of fishing here is especially dependent on weather conditions. With an easterly wind, you may be left without a catch at all. Also, it is on the Mozhaisk Reservoir that the predator is very sensitive to changes in pressure. The best time to go fishing is when the weather has not changed for several days, and no cyclones or anticyclones are expected in the near future. But under successful conditions, fishing here can promise the capture of real trophies - large pike perch and perch weighing up to a kilogram, which come out to hunt on the shallows.

The main thing to remember when fishing or just relaxing in this place is that after heavy rain it will be almost impossible to get out of there by car. The road that runs through the field is immediately washed away, and even jeeps prepared for off-roading can get stuck in the clay.
