Finally, I collected all my files into a heap (not quite all, some could not be restored), but I collected the main ones.

I had the opportunity to test an exclusive stick, a new product from the Norstream company - Artifact 662SULS, for which I would like to express my gratitude to the administration of the site Fishingsib.ru and the Norstream company.

My choice fell on this particular spinning rod, due to the fact that I have been interested in ultralight fishing for several years now. This is not only microjig, but also small wobblers, jigs, microturbines, small spinners. In general, I wanted to try this spinning rod. By the way, I didn’t immediately notice that the spinning rod is positioned as a trout rod.

But it turned out that this is a sports-level spinning rod for trout fishing. I wouldn’t even think that such an elegant and delicate stick could cope with such a fighter as trout.

What immediately catches your eye is the classic black color of the form itself with golden edging on the handle and reel seat, as well as an attractive cursive, easy-to-read inscription. In general, the design of the spinning rod is provocative.

Case

A standard thick case with two linden covers, simple and convenient. By the way, the cover was washed and after it did not lose either shape or color, although I came across covers that after washing faded and became shabby. The edging of the case is stitched with high quality, and the linden is sewn securely.

Accessories

The guides on this rod are SIC, the material of the ring inserts is Alconite, the outer rings are marked with a bright orange wrap, which allows you to visually better control the operation of the tip.

A thorough inspection of each ring showed that the windings of the rings were made carefully, the rings were sitting dead. The form is even, which is good news. Anti-flood tulip with internal diameter 2 mm

Handle

The usual EVA design, the combination of black and gold colors looks nice from the outside, while maintaining the strictness of execution, a very comfortable skeletal holder of an unusual shape.

It fits perfectly in the hand. The thumb rest is really well made.

The reel seat nut holds it securely and does not come loose, like some low-budget spinning rods. Personally, I really liked the performance of this spinning rod; it has its own zest.

If only there was at least a small loop for bait...

Tackle balance

For ultralight, my main reel is Shimano Ultegra 2500S, and I tested this stick with it.

Of course, I am not a great esthete and it doesn’t matter to me whether a reel is heavy or light. But I will say that I was quite comfortable fishing with this spinning rod with this reel, although of course this light rod requires a lighter reel for excellent balance. To me it's a fetish.

Build

The manufacturer claims that this rod has a conical action “extra fast” and this is true, this spinning rod has a very lively tip and a powerful butt.

This allows you to make accurate and long-distance casts, in addition, it gives high sensitivity to the spinning rod and allows you to make effective hooks.

Sensory

I don’t have much experience in fishing with spinning rods of this class yet, I won’t make any comparisons, I’ll only express my opinion or impressions received in such a short period. Despite the fact that for microjig I use a rough cord of 0.08 Cheburashka 2.5 grams with the bait you can really feel it in your hand on the sandy bottom.

And in windy weather I managed to go fishing several times, and here Artifact showed what excellent sensitivity means. Bites in the hand are transmitted perfectly. I was impressed by the sensory perception of the grass, all sorts of snags or branches. I even managed to hook a couple of branches, taking the hit as a bite, but gradually I learned to hook the fish and not the branches.

The blank perfectly works out the jerks of larger striped fish and does not give them a chance to get off the hook, or reduces this chance to a minimum.

Well, now as for the work of the form with various types of baits. The manufacturer claims that this is a trout spinning rod, but of course does not exclude other fish.

Since the spinning rod is all ultralight, I fished mainly with delicate gear: jigs, microturbines, microjigs, spinners, wobblers.

My first fishing trips were with microjigs and jigs. I threw a weight of less than 0.5 grams; I equipped jigs and Cheburashkas with up to 3 grams plus a hook with bait. To say that the wand is sensitive to the retrieve and when biting and ties the fish well is to say nothing.

When fishing, the spinning rod works just fine, it handles both perch and roach easily, and it also keeps the big zander under control.

If they happen, they are very rare, and it’s not the fault of the stick, it’s just crooked hands))) The fishing process is controlled perfectly, sometimes I even photograph a fish right on the water or above the water without fear that it will come off.

I didn’t have any photos left with the jig after one of the disks failed.

By the way, where there is a microjig there and the leashes, I passed a small test. Leads are definitely subject to this stick, except that the weights should not exceed the test limits. On one of the fishing trips, the perch was so harmful that I whipped up a micro-Carolina. And the perch didn’t have to wait long, although the microjig ignored it.

I also give great preference to wobbler fishing, and with this spinning rod, of course, I drove small wobblers such as Uni Crank 36, Chirful 34, Ion 32 and others,

vibrations from the crank operation are simply perfectly transmitted to the hand, it feels like you just feel the crank roll from side to side.

The stick can handle these wobblers, despite the fact that their weight is higher than the stated test. But even so, twitching is not her thing a priori, but evenly-sized rolls are for her, exactly from the smallest ones, up to a size of 4-5 cm,

By the way, the wand also copes with spinner spinners due to the softened “solid” tip. According to my given form, it is comfortable to work with turntables numbers 0-2 according to the Mepps classification.

When testing the wand, I tried to get everything out of it, and probably even more than everything. At the risk of breaking, for example, I pulled out even small pike perch from a 3-4 meter cliff with a spinning rod. And I’ll tell you, the spinning rod passed this test with dignity.

And of course, the most important thing is the trout test. How could it be without it, because this is its main purpose.

I'll say this. I caught trout for the first time and therefore I have absolutely nothing to compare this action with.

But when I met the guys at the trout pond (by the way, they had serious sticks in their hands), they told me that it was in vain that I had landed on the pond with such a thin spinning rod, the very first trout would break it for me, because this fish was still a fighter. I just smiled at this and said, let's see.

And indeed, this is where the real fighter is. This is where I got a full dose of adrenaline and even more. Fishing for this fish simply cannot be compared with anything. The spinning rod ties the fish and dampens all its jerks, but a properly configured clutch also plays an important role here.

To be honest, I just enjoyed fishing for trout on this delicate stick. Emotions were running high. And by the way, I made some conclusions for myself. The bite of the trout is very neat and barely noticeable, or so it was for me, and in the first 10-15 seconds if you bring it to the landing net, then it almost does not resist, so let’s say it seems to be in shock (then you need to force things), but since I just wanted to enjoy fishing, namely from catching trout with Artifact, I gave the trout time to walk. And I just had fun.

By the way, my second trout bit so carefully that I probably felt this bite only thanks to this sensitive stick, and caught the edge, but only got off the hook when it got into the landing net.

In general, I grabbed the adrenaline in full. I didn’t cut out the fragments of fishing for trout, I decided to share a link to a film from my very first trout fishing, you can see how the stick works, and you can also see what serious gear the guys were using.

By the way, not only trout was caught there, but also perch and crucian carp.

So, I will say in general, after fishing with Artifact, I have a lot of positive impressions. A comfortable rod in every sense, and the price is not quite exorbitant. Of course, this is not enough time to reveal its full potential, but in such a short period of time we managed to achieve something. I think in the future, if I suddenly become the owner of this stick, I will make a comparison with the zhanzheta in the same test.

Maximus High Energy-X

If, for one reason or another, you do not want to part with a significant amount, then why not pay attention to the representative of the High Energy-X line with the MSHEX21UL index? This model represents a kind of transitional link. According to a number of characteristics, it can still be classified as ultralight. But the weight and bait test already show it as a representative of the light class.

The length of the spinning rod is 210 cm, weight – 108g. The declared test for baits is from 1 to 7 g (in practice - from 2 to 8). I would characterize its build as medium-fast.

The ability to “knit” fish and “forgive” mistakes while fishing are two obvious advantages of this rod. The stick's record is a pike weighing more than five kilograms. By the way, she was caught in January at a temperature of -20 degrees. For me, this case was yet another proof that using light tackle does not exclude the possibility of catching relatively large fish.

High Energy-X 21UL can be safely recommended to beginner anglers and those who need an inexpensive and high-quality fishing rod. This model is suitable for fishing with rotating and oscillating spoons weighing from 2 g, as well as wobblers with their own game. Unfortunately, this rod is not suitable for microjig (although in relation to trout, instead of micro- you can already use the term nano-) and unweighted silicone baits. First of all, because of my test. For these purposes, it is better to pay attention to other models, which will be discussed below.

Maximus Smuggler

If your fishing trip involves public transport, or you are going on a long trip, then the three-piece Maximus Smuggler Travel MTRSS18UL may be a good replacement for High Energy-X.

Maximus Egoist-X

In cases where some versatility is required from a fishing rod, the solution to this problem may be to purchase a Maximus Egoist-X spinning rod with index 602UL.

Rod length -183 cm, weight - 79g. Lure test – from 1 to 5g. The build is stated to be fast. But, in my opinion, he still gravitates towards medium-fast. I would like to note right away that I am more familiar with its predecessor - the pre-restyling Egoist 602SUL. But I liked the new version with the letter “X” more.

In addition to oscillating and rotating spoons, this rod copes well with various small wobblers. In addition, the Egoist-X 602UL can be used for fishing with ultra-light jig heads and unloaded rubber.

If you are faced with the question of purchasing a specialized tool for fishing with silicone baits, be sure to pay attention to the Maximus Ranger MRFSR702UL.

If necessary, Ranger can also be used for fishing with spinning or oscillating spoons. But with wobblers it will be more difficult. This is due to the sensitive flexible tip.
