Paid fishing and fishing tours in the Ulyanovsk region

Reservoirs of the Ulyanovsk region

Fishing in the Ulyanovsk region
The fish-rich rivers of the Ulyanovsk region allow you to get a good catch almost all year round. In total, there are more than 320 rivers and small streams in the region. In addition to rivers, there are also lakes suitable for fishing. This allows you to constantly find more and more new places for fishing. The largest rivers are the Volga, Sviyaga, Sura, Barysh and Bolshoy Cheremshan.

The abundance of fish species in Ulyanovsk and its surroundings allows you to enjoy a wide variety of fishing. In the waters of the region there are pike, perch, bream, crucian carp, tench, pike perch, carp, chebak, sturgeon, ruffe and many other species of fish. In addition, crayfish are often found in the lakes and rivers of Ulyanovsk.

The main rivers of the Ulyanovsk region are the Volga, Sura, Bolshoi Cheremshan, Sviyaga, in addition, there are two large reservoirs in the region, Kuibyshevskoye and Saratovskoye. As for lakes, there are more than 1200 of them in the region. Approximately 75% of the lakes belong to floodplain reservoirs, the rest to watershed ones. Most lakes are small, with an area of less than 5 hectares. Belolebyazhye is considered the largest lake in the region. The most popular fishing in the Ulyanovsk region is on lakes Beloye and Belolebyazhye.

With the exception of salmon, almost all types of freshwater fish from the Central and Southern regions of Russia live in the reservoirs of the Ulyanovsk region. But the most popular among local and visiting fishermen are carp, bream, carp, roach, crucian carp and rudd, asp, pike perch and pike, perch, catfish and chub. Of course, this is not a complete list of the types of fish that are caught by many fishing enthusiasts.

As elsewhere, fishermen in the region are divided according to preferences; some hunt exclusively for predators and catch them with spinning rods and artificial baits or with live bait. Others catch mostly peaceful fish, using all kinds of baits, baits and supplements. And of course, there are those who have chosen the golden mean and are happy to catch both predators and various types of underwear. Those who love predator hunting prefer open rivers, the Volga, Sviyaga, and Sura. And more peaceful fish are caught in the Volga bays and the mouths of tributaries. Both predators and peaceful fish are successfully caught in reservoirs.

In Ulyanovsk itself, the most popular places are located where Ryleeva Street descends. Both bream and spinning anglers fish there. And even fellow soldiers visit these places. Catfish are caught from June to September, when the water is warm enough. Sometimes real trophies are caught, the weight of which can exceed 100 and 120 kg.

White fish are usually caught using bloodworms, worms, maggots, dough, pearl barley or canned corn. As for the predator, larger specimens are usually caught using live bait, but they are also successfully caught using wobblers, spinners, silicone and other artificial baits. Catfish are most often caught using live bait and large crawlers, less often using the meat of crayfish and mollusks.

River Uren

The Uren River, 42 km long, flows through the territory of the Ulyanovsk region. This small picturesque river belongs to the Volga basin. It especially attracts winter fishing enthusiasts.

Perch prefers to stay closer to the shore. You should drill 5 meters from it and familiarize yourself with the relief. You need to make 4 holes with an envelope and then move along the coastline in search of schooling perch. Bloodworms are used as bait, a small handful of which can be dropped directly into the hole. Holes for roach are made using the same strategy, but at a depth of approximately 10 - 15 m from the shore. In this case, it is better to use ready-made bait, since mixing it may be difficult in winter conditions.

Granular bait quickly reaches the bottom layers and attracts fish with its active release of oxygen. You should feed all the holes in which you plan to catch roach. Perch is caught using a jig baited with bloodworm larvae. If the fish shows significant aggressiveness, you should change gear.

Biryuch River

The left tributary of the Sviyaga is the Biryuch River. It flows through the territory of the Ulyanovsk region. Its length is 58 km. The water in it is very clean and transparent. Dace and sitna can be caught in pits with a rod with a light float. Suitable baits include bread, dough and worms. The chub is found on rocky rifts. It is excellently caught on light and ultralight. Casting should be done along the current, preferably from behind the bushes at a bend in the river. Local fishermen use chicken and goose livers, as well as chafer larvae as bait.

The chub is listed in the Red Book of the Ulyanovsk region. Catching it in huge quantities and not releasing it into its natural habitat is severely suppressed. They catch burbots on Biryucha with bottom tackles. Such fishing will be successful at night and at dawn. This predator is good at picking up minnows that are found in the river and frogs. In winter, the main problem becomes access. You can only travel along the river in four-wheel drive vehicles or on foot.

Shale mine

The choice of this fishing spot is preferable for owners of SUVs and watercraft. The road goes from the village of Isheevka to the sign, then runs through the village to the coast and further up the mountain through the forest. In the quiet bay, the fish bite well on narrow oscillating spoons, jigs, Devon pike perch and catfish. Wiring – stepwise or with stops. A bay full of silt is not suitable for a beautiful holiday. But there is a great opportunity to admire the Undorovsky Mountains and catch catfish with a line or pike perch in a plumb line.

Ponds near the village of Dubravka attract crucian carp lovers. Here this fish is caught with donks or a sliding float on a spinning tackle. Crucian carp bites on animal and plant baits. Carp are also caught in these reservoirs. It bites at a distance of 10 m and further from the shore. Be sure to use a leash. You can use boilies and canned corn as bait. The disadvantages of this fishing spot include sparse vegetation, lack of places to stay overnight and annoying highway noise.

Yurman Bay

The bay, located on the left bank of the Kuibyshev reservoir, has a length of more than 10 km. Its maximum depth reaches 4 m. In Yurmanka, as it is popularly called, bream, bream, roach, perch and crucian carp actively bite. For fishing in the Yurman Bay, it is advisable to use a boat. As a tackle, it is better to choose a float rod with a float for still water.

Casts should be made along the shore or towards the reeds. It is better to fish early in the morning or before sunset. Fishing in the Jurman Bay is a pleasure with its unusually fresh and fragrant air. Along its banks there are numerous recreation centers. Ponds near the village of Ozerki are another attractive place for fishing in the Ulyanovsk region. Crucian carp and crucian carp are caught here. You can fish directly from the shore. It is best to use a long rod as tackle.

The natural landscape and fishing conditions are similar to many other places. Crucian carp bite well in the morning on semolina, which is very easy to prepare yourself at home. Both pearl barley and worms are used as bait. In the summer there are a lot of mosquitoes here, so it is advisable to have repellents against these insects.

The Volga shallows near the village of Malinovka are attractive for fishermen. Roach, bream, perch, ide, and pike are actively caught here using float gear and spinning rods. To achieve a good result, it is better to use vegetable bait.

general information

Fishing in Ulyanovsk
Fishing in the Ulyanovsk region is carried out in almost every district; everywhere there are reservoirs where local fishermen flock. For example, the Kuibyshev Reservoir attracts with its pike perch, catfish, carp, pike, asp, bream, perch, and roach. The reservoirs of the Staromainsky district are attractive for pike and bream, perch and carp, crucian carp, roach, and carp. The lakes of the Melekessky region are famous for their tench and crucian carp. There are a lot of crucian carp, carp and gudgeon in the ponds of the Tsilninsky and Ulyanovsk districts. In the Radishchevsky region they catch chub, carp and crucian carp. In White Lake, in the Mainsky region, large crucian carp are caught well. In the Sengilevsky region in the bays you can catch perch, crucian carp, roach, and bream. The lakes of the Cherdaklinsky region are famous for their crucian carp, and the bays for pike, ide, roach, perch, and bream.

In a word, in the Ulyanovsk region you can fish almost everywhere except those places where commercial fishing is carried out. Paid fishing in the Ulyanovsk region is also developing intensively. Many reservoirs are rented and stocked with various types of fish, mainly carp, grass carp, silver carp, pike, and bream.

Fishing on White Lake

White Lake is located in the southwestern region of the Nikolaevsky district. Its area is 96 hectares, and its greatest depth reaches 6 meters. In the lake there are bites of pike, crucian carp, tench, loach and perch. As a rule, fishermen on the lake are evenly distributed. However, if a large crucian carp begins to hatch at a certain place, then the next day there will be a sea of fishermen in this place. The lake landscape is provided in the video.

The average depth in the lake is no more than 2 meters. There are a lot of reeds and other grass along the banks, where, in fact, the most frequent bites occur. However, this should not be taken as a rule, since crucian carp can actively bite even in fairly clean water. Therefore, most fishermen choose a place “maybe they’ll be lucky,” since it is impossible to predict in advance where the crucian carp will sit today. You can watch how professionals and amateurs fish on White Lake in the video.

Speaking about the deep depressions of the reservoir, you shouldn’t get too attached to them, since crucian carp always swim into shallow water to warm up and eat. Fishing in pits can give results only with the onset of cold weather. But you shouldn’t expect a crazy bite, since the fish are not very active in such weather and the bites are very weak. Winter fishing is not very popular here.

Today, fishing in the Ulyanovsk region is most often carried out on a crucian carp feeder. Its use has many more advantages than fishing with float gear. And in past years, in the spring, excellent results were obtained from semolina, which was wound on a hook in a large bunch. In feeder feeders, the best food is ordinary wheat porridge, which is much more promising than expensive branded mixtures.

Fishing on Sura

The Sura is the second largest river in the Ulyanovsk region, after the Volga. It is the right tributary of one of the main and famous rivers of Russia. It would take a long time to list the entire ichthyofauna of Sura; among the main inhabitants it is worth noting pike, pike perch, carp, catfish and the king fish sterlet. However, this river attracts many fishermen not with its fish stocks, but with the opportunity to catch fairly large chubs. The easiest way to catch them is with regular float gear with a black leech on the hook, which is an exquisite delicacy for fish.

There is a myth among fishermen who come here to fish that you shouldn’t rush all over the river in search of leucorrhoea. The best tactic would be to sit quietly in one place, feed him well and fish on him all day. Such fishing will not bring the expected results, since the bite does not last long due to very small schools of leucorrhoea. Therefore, the best tactic would be a short search of the place you like.

Small islands that form in the shallows are considered great chub spots. In the summer it can be a simple cape, but during the spring flood it washes through a small, but very interesting channel, where chubs hang out. In such places you can make wiring, fishing is carried out with the passage of a float. In those places where it is inconvenient to fish in this way, a half-bottom is used. However, in the spring and summer, when the water is still cloudy, the chub reacts better to a moving bait: you can learn how to make a retrieve by watching the corresponding video.

Chub fishing will be stable only when the weather is stable, with air temperatures above +12 degrees Celsius. When there is a sudden cold snap or temperature changes, either the bites disappear completely, or one small thing comes across. In such cases, one can only be content with roach bites. Sufficiently large fish can be caught on the border between a moderate current and a strong jet.

In the Ulyanovsk region, both summer and winter fishing are possible. Fishing here will allow both amateurs and real pros to plunge into the whole gamut of positive emotions, get a huge amount of adrenaline and experience real excitement. The most important condition for a novice fisherman will be to select the correct and proven equipment, and to watch training videos to get an idea about future fishing.

Bream fishing in Sviyag

If, for example, pike perch in the Ulyanovsk region is mainly caught on the banks of the Volga, then for bream, especially in the fall, they go to Sviyaga. This relatively small river, like the Volga, flows within the city. Local fishermen know very well that with the arrival of autumn, the migration of bream begins, from small rivers it rolls into the Volga. By mid-September, the number of bream at the mouth of Sviyaga increases significantly. Of course, not all the bream rolls into the Volga and a lot of it is dispersed into the pits in Sviyaga itself.

In the summer, bream in Sviyag is also quite active and the catches of this fish often delight fishermen. But fishing in the Ulyanovsk region in Sviyag for bream requires constant baiting of promising places in order to remain with a good catch. Beaches are considered excellent places for catching bream on Sviyag. In September it is already cold to swim and the most favorable time for fishermen begins. As a rule, gentle slopes in such places end with edges, at the bases, where bream concentrate. The only condition for successful fishing at this time is that such edges must be located within accessible limits for good casting of the feeder, and there are many such places on Sviyag.

At this time, the bulk of bream adheres to a depth of 4 to 6 meters. Casting is best done at a distance of 20 to 30 meters. Approximately in these places there is a suitable depth for catching bream. The main gear for fishing for bream in the fall is a donka. It can have any design, but the equipment must include a feeder weighing 70-80 grams. You can buy a standard feeder or make it yourself. It is made from wire and the bottom is filled with lead. For better adhesion to the bottom, the feeder is equipped with two wire antennae. An insert 50 cm long is passed through the feeder, a strong swivel is mounted in the pole, the lower rocker has two leashes of about 20 cm. The rocker must be at least 35 cm. Large hooks No. 7-9 according to the domestic classification. It hooks bream more reliably than a smaller hook. It is better to make leashes with braided fishing line.

It is better to choose a powerful fishing rod and equip it with a large reel. A bell is placed as a bite alarm, although you can fish without an alarm; usually the bites are powerful and well felt. Local bream is picky and fishing for bream in the Ulyanovsk region in Sviyag requires baits adapted to it. Star pasta is considered the best and most popular attachment. Prepare the nozzle as follows. Place a few spoons of starfish in a piece of gauze and, while the water is boiling, lower the gauze with pasta into the pan for 45 seconds. The main thing in this case is not to overcook; the pasta inside should remain hard and raw. The best bait for bream on the Sviyaga River is ready.

Fishing in Panshino

According to experienced fishermen, it is this area that, for some unknown reason, attracts a lot of different fish. The small village, located on a hillside, is washed by a large expanse of water. The bottom of the reservoir mainly consists of thick silt, sometimes there are stones or shells, and small islands can be seen formed along the entire surface of the reservoir. At the beginning of spring, anglers come to this place with the goal of catching as many roaches as possible; at this time there are a lot of them here. Also during this period, ide and chub are often caught. Armed with a couple of float rods and taking a boat with you, you can bring home quite a lot of fish. And if you have a quok at your disposal, then by the end of fishing there will definitely be a catfish in the cage.

Since September, bream has predominated in the reservoir. Many experienced anglers have discovered the best place for fishing, located not a few kilometers above the village. For local residents, this place is known as the Monastery, because there are remains of an old chapel in the area. It should be noted that a float rod is not entirely suitable for catching bream; in this case, it is recommended to use a donkey. If someone is not familiar with this tackle, then a donka is a feeder that, when cast, lies on the bottom. This tackle can be made more fully with your own hands.

Making a feeder requires certain materials:

  1. Wire for the frame, preferably stronger.
  2. Lead, it is necessary to fill the bottom of the feeder.
  3. The swivel is also quite powerful.
  4. Line for a leash on a hook.
  5. Directly several hooks, recommended size 7-9.

Typically, bream swims at a depth of three to five meters, and stays at least 20 meters from the shore. To catch, you need to have a powerful spinning rod, with a large and comfortable reel and thicker fishing line. For bait, experienced fishermen recommend using:

  1. Crushed wheat crackers.
  2. Sunflower cake.
  3. Crushed river clay.
  4. Bloodworm.
  5. Maggot.

Seasonal fishing

Fishing in the Ulyanovsk region
In the summer, fishermen from Ulyanovsk love to fish on the banks of Sviyaga and the Volga. There are many open places, and there are paid places specially equipped for fishing. On such reservoirs you can not only fish, but also have a good time with your family or friends. The cost is only 200 rubles per day of fishing. True, there is a limitation - more than three kilograms of fish and you will have to pay extra. There are special passes that include a large number of trips to the fishing spot - a good offer for avid fishermen.

There are reservoirs with the possibility of renting a boat. A day's rent costs approximately 1000 – 1500 rubles. There are a lot of bases with possible boat rentals in the lower part of the Volga. You can rent a boat separately to come to any body of water you like and fish far from the shore. Experienced fishermen prefer rowing boats, although they use them less and less. They will allow you to approach the fishing spot unnoticed and not scare the fish with sound. When fishing from a motor boat, it is worth using additional bait to feed the fish.

A feature of summer fishing in Ulyanovsk is the frequent feeding of fish. On hot days without bait, the bite occurs only in the early morning or towards sunset. Fishing during the day is possible in places with strong currents and concrete structures, such as driven piles near the shore, then you can easily catch a roach or perch using a tine.

In winter, a huge number of fishermen come to the Volga, especially in the area of the villages of Kriushi, Krestovo-Gorodishche, Shilovka, Tsemzavod, Bely Yar and Sengilei. The Volga completely freezes in these areas by mid-December, allowing you to enjoy ice fishing. Winter is the best time to catch pike perch and pike perch. Winter fishing in Ulyanovsk is very popular, so you can often see whole rows of tents along the river bank and many fishermen on the ice.

In winter, fishermen most often choose sprat as their main gear. It allows you to fish with both artificial and live bait. For “reconnaissance”, experienced fishermen use several rods, later leaving only one. You can use two fishing methods - alternate between actively using bait and pausing, or constantly actively “playing” with bait. On the Volga you don’t have to use bait, the current will do it for you. It is better to save active tactics for the numerous Ulyanovsk lakes. Passive fishing with the help of the current allows you to control two tackles.

Fishing in Ulyanovsk is a great pastime and you should definitely visit these fish-rich reservoirs to enjoy quality fishing.

Where is the bite in the area?

Fishing in the Ulyanovsk region can be no less exciting than in the city itself. In the surrounding area there are many commercial and public reservoirs that are ready to compete with the Volga and Sviyaga.

"New"

Fishing in Novinka, Ulyanovsk region, involves fishing on a recently opened paid pond, about which there are many conflicting reviews. Some anglers who have been there claim that the pond is heavily overgrown with grass and is not properly cared for. In addition, there is a lack of basic trash cans along the banks. There is practically no bite. Some other fishermen point out reasonable prices and very good sizes of carp found there.

Carps on the mat
Carp is the only fish that lives on the “platform” called “Novinka”.

A ticket to Novinka can be purchased for 2 time periods, which is an undoubted advantage of this fish farm. A license for the entire daylight hours will cost 1 thousand rubles. and will allow you to take 5 kg of carp with you. If you don’t want to spend so much time on the reservoir, then it is better to purchase a permit for 6 hours, the price of which is half as much as the catch rate. For exceeding the limits, an additional payment of 150 rubles/kg will be required.

KRH "Novinka" works seven days a week. In the near future it is planned to install houses and open night fishing.

"Terentyevka"

Good fishing spots are located in Terentyevka, where commercial fishing is organized. The paid pond is located in the Melekessky district of the Ulyanovsk region. The reservoir is populated:

  • carp;
  • roach;
  • pike;
  • crucian carp;
  • we shed;
  • rudd;
  • perch.

If a person is just for sport and does not intend to take the loot with him, he will be offered to pay 500 rubles. per day. A fisherman who wants to take away the caught trophies from the reservoir pays 1000 rubles, while the catch rate is 5 kg. Underwater inhabitants whose weight exceeds the 5 kg mark must be immediately released back. The number of simultaneously used gear is not limited. The use of any watercraft is prohibited.

On a note! Women and children are allowed on site at no additional cost.

Ozerki

Ozerki are a small group of lakes located in the Cherdaklinsky district of the Ulyanovsk region. The only inhabitants of these reservoirs are crucian carp and rotan. Several years ago, carp were released there, but there was no news of their capture.

Crucian carp can be caught on these lakes even in winter. Particularly active bite is observed during the thaw. To fish it, light jig or float tackle is used. Good bait with the addition of animal components increases the likelihood of fish approaching.

Yushanskoye

The commercial pond in the village of Yushanskoye is located in the Mainsky district and offers fishing at very reasonable prices. The cost of a one-time ticket is 300 rubles. For spinning anglers, the price is halved, since there are no other predators here besides small perch.

Perch on twister
The perch in Yushansky is quite small, but consistently bites on a variety of baits.

Travel along the shore by personal transport is allowed. There is no limit on the number of fish caught. It is only important to release small carp that have not reached a weight of 400 g. Children can be on the shore for free. There is a cafe on site where you can always have a snack after fishing.
