Novosibirsk and its surroundings are considered a real fishing mecca. The region's reservoirs are full of fish, so people come here for several days with families or large fishing companies. The catches of visitors, of course, are more modest than those of local fishermen, who have studied the inhabitants of the local rivers and lakes from “a” to “z”. And yet among the “tourists” there are no disappointed. Fish is found everywhere here, very diverse and in sufficient quantities. Crucian carp, for example, can be caught in any puddle that does not dry up. In general, fishing in Novosibirsk is always interesting, exciting and rewarding, it gives a lot of positive emotions and impressions.

In the Novosibirsk region there are more than 400 rivers, the length of which exceeds 10 kilometers. If we add to them 3 and a half thousand lakes and a huge reservoir on the Ob River with an area of 1070 square meters. km, it becomes clear that the region is really fishing. There is enough space for everyone, float fishing lovers, spinning anglers, and supporters of the English donkey. But poachers are not welcome here, so there is a lot of fish in all reservoirs, even the smallest ones.
What can you catch? The ichthyofauna is diverse. Some lucky people manage to catch sturgeon or sterlet, but this happens extremely rarely. In the upper Ob and Novosibirsk reservoirs, white salmon are found; in the fall, muksun come to spawn. Lenok lives in some tributaries of this reservoir, but its numbers are critically small. These species are endangered in the region. But there are plenty of crucian carp, especially in snagged lakes.
On large rivers and paid reservoirs you can successfully catch medium-sized carp, and for trophies you should go to the reservoir. Here a specimen weighing up to 10 kg can bite, so you need to take the appropriate gear. For many anglers, the number one target is the local bream - a beauty of the river, sparkling in the sun with silvery sides. Most often it is caught using a feeder or float rod with long casting.
There are no problems with predators either. Pike are effectively caught on a spinning rod using a variety of baits, from the good old spoon to an expensive wobbler with a noise chamber, realistic eyes and non-standard body geometry.
The toothy one also takes well with live bait. Fishing for catfish will give you a decent dose of adrenaline. It is not found in small reservoirs, but on the Ob or Irtysh rivers, as well as their large tributaries, there is every chance of catching a mustachioed giant.
It is better to go for pike perch or asp by boat, since these predators are afraid to come close to the shore and stay mainly in deep areas. There is plenty of perch in both rivers and lakes. It is advisable to hunt it with ultralight tackle, which allows you to feel all the delights of fighting a striped robber while fishing.
It is worth mentioning several more species common in this area. Some of them are not of particular gastronomic value, since they do not grow to large sizes, but they are quite suitable for sport fishing. These are gudgeon, spined lance, ruff and sleeper. The latter appeared several years ago and has firmly established itself in this territory. It is believed that it causes irreparable harm to other inhabitants of rivers and lakes by eating their eggs and fry. In addition, almost everywhere where there is a current, you can catch roach and silver bream. In some rivers you can find the Siberian sculpin - a living indicator of clean water, listed in the Red Book of the region.

- Dzerzhinets is a lake in the Dzerzhinsky district with a large population of crucian carp. There are no predators here, so the fish reproduce quickly and grow to a reasonable size. It is for crucian carp that people come here from all over the area. It is better to fish from a boat, and if there is no watercraft, then you will need long-casting gear (for example, a feeder). Mainly only rotan bites under the shore.
Krugloye is a vast lake near the village of Linevo. The water level in it is maintained solely by precipitation; there are no inflowing rivers, but this does not in the least prevent such fastidious river species as carp, bream, bream, roach and bleak from feeling comfortable. You can catch perch and pike with a spinning rod; you can catch trophy tench with a float.- Berdsky Bay is a bay of the Berd River, formed together with the Novosibirsk reservoir after the construction of a hydroelectric power station. The comfortable, gently sloping banks of this artificial reservoir beckon fishermen. The maximum depth is 18 meters, but you won’t be able to reach it from the shore. To catch large bream or ide that live in these waters, you will have to use a watercraft.
- Yarkul is a picturesque lake located 30 kilometers from the city of Kupino. Pheasants calmly roam on its banks, and swans gracefully glide along the water surface. But fishermen come here for something else, although, of course, admiring the natural beauty never interferes with fishing. You can catch crucian carp, roach, perch, bream and other fish. In winter, fishing is prohibited, and in the warm season, restrictions apply: only from the shore, with float or bottom tackle, no more than two hooks. Despite this, fishing on the lake is an interesting and productive activity. No one is left without a catch.
The Chulym River is a right tributary of the Ob, flowing through several districts of the Novosibirsk region. The most popular among the fishing fraternity are areas with steep banks, where you can catch catfish, trophy pike, carp, bream, ide and other large fish.- The Berd River is a waterway with gentle banks. Since promising depths are far from the coastline, it is better to fish here in summer with long-range gear or from a boat. In winter there are no problems, all fishing spots are accessible. They mainly catch bream and roach; spinners hunt perch and pike. In the cold season, burbot takes well.
- The Kargat River is a tributary of the Chulym, famous for crucian carp fishing. There are so many crucian carp in this river that they always bite, regardless of the time of year, weather conditions and other factors. As a pleasant bonus, a carp weighing 3.4 or even 5 kg may end up on the hook and then in the cage.

Rivers
Ob
The Ob River is our main body of water. The river divides the city of Novosibirsk into two halves and is the largest and most popular in the region. Fish bite all year round. The Ob is famous for pike, pike perch, perch, dace is often caught, crucian carp, ide (very prized), catfish, burbot and other species. In general, a standard set of fish found in almost all reservoirs of Russia. In addition to them, sturgeon, sterlet (also a sturgeon fish), spined lance and even the legendary salmon, which comes here from the sea to spawn, are found in the Ob. There are about 50 species in total. By the way, the Ob is fed mainly by melting snow, the flood is in April, and the peak water rise is reached in May-June. Fishing from the shore on the river is less common than from boats and boats.
Important! Some of our sturgeon representatives are under protection, some of them are listed in the Red Book. It is strongly recommended to clarify all the details of the rules with the fisheries authorities.
As for predators, the main direction is spinning. Local fishermen prefer this particular tackle; they catch pike, large perch, pike perch, and salmon. They go out on winter fishing trips with poles to catch pike with live bait (preferably with fry of crucian carp or gudgeon). With the help of girders and circles (the summer version of this gear), it is better to catch pike in stretches. In such places the bottom is cleaner. The likelihood of equipment loss is reduced. Perch and zander are caught using winter fishing rods with small spoons. Our pike are unpretentious, especially when the high water period ends. They grab everything: spinners, silicone, wobblers, twisters. They bite very actively in March, when they are especially hungry.
Peaceful fish are caught mainly using float rods, especially crucian carp and roach. For trophy bream and carp, fishermen go to the village of Verkh-Suzun. Those who want to catch ides should simply swim to the other side of the river from the settlement. Float fishing becomes popular here in the summer. Lupine, pearl barley, maggot, and worm are used as bait.
Important! An interesting feature: on the Ob, peaceful fish actively go for pearl barley without adding flavorings. Our best bait for a long time
is a species of worm called stink bug.
Big fish hunters take with them a heavy feeder, the test of which is approximately 100–140 grams. Milkers emerge towards the end of August, when the fish begin to prepare for winter.

Now about the promising fishing spots of Novosibirsk on the Ob, including the city area. Let's say right away that the lack of a car or water transport is not an obstacle. - Matveevka. It is located on the right bank of the river, you can get to it from the river station to Akademgorodok, and from there it’s a 10-minute walk to the river. It is worth considering that the place is close to the dam, there are a lot of fishermen, so you need to leave early;
- Zaeltsovsky Park. Also the right bank. Buses go from Novosibirsk to it. Get off at the appropriate stop and walk to the river. 10 minutes walk;
- new bridge. They are caught right under the bridge. Right bank of the river. 20 minutes walk from the center. The bottom is heavily littered, the shore is also quite littered, but the fish bite well;
- mouth of the Inya, right bank of the Ob. First you need to get to the “Industrialny” stop, and from there about 10–15 minutes on foot;
- metro bridge, it is on the left side of our Ob. You can fish, but the place is literally packed with anglers. There are a lot of networks, so you should be careful;
- radio station, also known as Bugrinskaya Grove. Left bank of the Ob, you will go to the “Radio Station” stop, from there it’s a 10-minute walk.

Here are the most popular fishing places, but the village of Nizhny Suzun remains the best. True, it is further away, but it is quieter, there is fresh air, there is less rubbish and there is a lot of fish. In all these areas you can fish with a float rod.

Raduzhny is a fishing complex near the village of Marusino. The complex was named so not by chance, because there are a lot of rainbow trout in the lake. In addition to this, you can catch carp and its wild relative, carp. The use of float fishing rods, bottom and fly fishing gear, and spinning rods is permitted. A day of fishing for adults will cost 400 rubles, for children – 200 rubles. The catch is paid separately. For a kilogram of caught trout you will have to pay 520 rubles, carp and carp are estimated at 350 rubles/kg.- A cool place - a fishing and tourist base, located very close to the Ob River (Suzunsky district). You can get here from Novosibirsk in just 2 hours. The choice of fish is huge, from crucian carp to sturgeon species. The establishment provides a full range of services, which includes the rental of motor boats (snowmobiles in winter). You can fish both on the Ob and on numerous oxbow lakes, channels, and flood lakes.
- Lesnoye Lake is a reservoir in the Oktyabrsky district, stocked with mirror carp. There are also crayfish, which will undoubtedly interest lovers of cold beer. The advantage of this lake is that it is remote from populated areas and highways. Fresh air and birdsong are excellent companions for good fishing. The fishing spots are comfortable and equipped with small piers. You can rent tackle and various fishing accessories. The cost of a trip for one daylight is 1000 rubles. It includes 3 kg of fish, everything over – 150 rubles/kg.
The 75th kilometer is a toll road, which can be reached along the M-53 highway by turning right immediately after the “75 km” sign. From the turn to the lake no more than 400 meters. Here visitors can enjoy gazebos for relaxation, a bathhouse, and comfortably equipped places for fishing (walkways). Fee for one person: daylight – 400 rubles, day – 700 rubles. You will have to pay separately for caught carp – 250 rubles/kg. You can catch as many crucian carp as you like and completely free of charge. In addition, cupid lives in the reservoir, but it is extremely rarely caught on a hook (this fish is very shy and careful).- Dubrava is a tourist center in the village of Dubrovino, in the Moshkovsky district. A great place for recreation and fishing at an affordable price. On one side is the Ob River, on the other there is a majestic pine forest. From the houses to the water there are only 150 meters. Novosibirsk reservoirs

Ob Reservoir
The reservoir was created in 1957-59, artificially on the Ob River, during the launch of the Novosibirsk hydroelectric power station. It was divided into two parts: one part is located in the Novosibirsk region, the other in the Altai Territory.
The reservoir area occupies 1070 square kilometers, and its length is 200 kilometers. The deepest point is 25 meters, and the greatest width is 22 kilometers. When winter comes, the reservoir freezes completely.
There, as in the Ob, there are a lot of fish. For lovers of predatory fish, there is always pike perch, pike and perch. Those who prefer white fish can catch:
- Roaches;
- Bream;
- Carp;
- crucian carp;
- Line;
- Yazya.
The reservoir also contains valuable fish species:
- Grayling;
- Peled;
- Chir;
- Sturgeon;
- Sterlet.
In winter, you can catch burbot. It is prohibited to catch many species of fish, especially valuable ones, without a license, since they are all included in the Red Book.
Fish in the Ob Reservoir bite throughout the year. In summer you can fish from the shore, but it will bring more results from a boat. The fact is that the coastline is either overgrown with bushes or swampy, so the second method is much better.
Predator lovers must have a spinning rod with them. Due to the great depth of the reservoir, it is possible to catch large specimens. Those who are going fishing in those parts are advised to stock up on strong gear and large baits. Spoons and large wobblers are well suited as bait. To catch perch, you need to have a spinner. Near the shore, where the depth is shallow, you can use baits such as poppers.
Trolling is very popular on the reservoir. Many fishermen use swimming equipment that is equipped to support spinning rods, while using echo sounders. The fishing rods are also unique - trolling. Wobblers are used as bait, which drop down to 9 meters when cast.
Hunters for white fish use float schools and donks. In the first case, match rods are more suitable. When fishing for crucian carp, most people prefer to use fly rods. It is important to put a sensitive float on them, with a small sinker and a hook; the fishing line is not thick.
On those days when bream takes well, in order to catch it, you need to swim out with bottom equipment. This type of gear is a long cast: a spinning rod with a feeder at the end, from which, as a rule, there are 2-3 hooks. The fish prefers to bite on maggots, pearl barley and worms. Bream does not mind eating sandwiches from the listed baits. Fishermen who catch bream using long casting always equip one fishing rod per predator, hooking live bait to the end of the rig. This method can bring the fisherman trophy pike perch or burbot.
White fish should be looked for near the shores of the reservoir, in creeks and estuaries. They are usually caught in the holes formed there. To catch pike perch, you need to go to the river fairway. Trophy perch and pike are caught in these same places. In the area of reeds and in areas where there is grass, the perch is found smaller.
In winter, there are a large number of fishermen here. During this period, there are no fewer people who like to fish in the reservoir than in open water. Using a jig you have a chance to catch roach and perch. When using vertical spinners, you can catch pike or pike perch. Installing girders is very popular for catching predators.
The burbot bites well during this period. The predator begins to behave actively when cold weather sets in. You can catch it using girders, and use live bait or pieces of raw fish as bait. The fishing process occurs from the bottom; it bites more actively at night.
Berdsky Bay
This is part of the Ob Reservoir. The largest bay on the reservoir has a weak water flow.
Its length is about 30 kilometers, and the width of the bay is maximum 1.5 kilometers. As for the depth, it varies. Near the shore it is 1-1.5 meters, but there are also deep spots, in some places up to 20 meters. The bottom is muddy everywhere.
On the right side the bank is steep, with huge pine trees growing there. On the left is a gentler approach to the water. People there often fish and just relax on the beaches. The bay is full of a lot of fish, different types. Since there are many valuable species of fish there, and fishing requires a permit and a license, ordinary fishermen are always only interested in:
- Roach;
- Carp;
- Bream;
- Pike;
- Perch.
When using a boat, there is a chance to catch a trophy specimen, but everyone is happy with fishing from the shore. Most people use bottom and float equipment here, for white fish, of course. Spinning rods and rods are used to hunt for predatory fish.
Winter fishing in Novosibirsk
Fishing in winter differs from the warm season in that you can reach any corner on the ice. Shallow and small-sized ponds and lakes are the first to freeze in the Novosibirsk region, followed a little later by other standing reservoirs and river bays. Rivers are the last to become covered with ice. There is no need to rush into the current, the ice must become thick and strong, otherwise there is a risk of experiencing all the “delights” of contact with icy water. And it’s good if your partner is nearby at this moment.
On lakes, underwater inhabitants descend to depths where the water is warmer. River fish accumulate in places suitable for wintering. From the first days of freeze-up, pike have been caught well. The pike perch bites with varying success. This is more of a nocturnal predator; it is better to catch it in the dark and at great depths.
Many winter fishermen target peaceful fish such as roach or rudd. Roach usually stays in the middle horizons, far from the coastline, but rudd should be looked for under overgrown banks. And, of course, we cannot remain silent about the striped robber. In winter, perch can be caught everywhere and always, even in the dead of winter. Moreover, on some lakes in January it is more active than in December. In addition, many people associate winter fishing in Novosibirsk with burbot, known for its taste. On the Ob and about ten other large rivers in the region there is enough of this predator to count on success.
