Wiring technique

For the X-RAP series, so-called “Stop-and-Go” wiring works well. After casting the wobbler and reaching its working depth, we take a short pause of 3-5 seconds and then perform 3-4 turns of the reel. Thus, the wiring looks like REWIND-PAUSE-REWIND-PAUSE.

Top 10 wobblers for perch

Let's look at the best wobblers for perch.

YO – ZURI L – Minnow 44

YO – ZURI L – Minnow 44 – length – 44 mm, weight – 5 g. The weight is formed thanks to the built-in load. This ensures long casts, which contributes to successful fishing. Buoyancy – sinking. Fishermen often use this bait. It can be used by beginning anglers. They can be used for fishing both in a small river and in a huge reservoir. The bait is used when fishing in the current. It can be driven both along the stream and across it.

Made of high strength plastic, which protects the wobbler from collisions with underwater obstacles. However, even those specimens that have lost the covering layer are capable of catching fish with no less efficiency. Colors: Golden-black, with a red head and silver body.

Jackall Chuby 38

The material in Jackall Chuby 38 is plastic. Weight 4 g. Available in 38 color options. The paint is durable and remains intact even after long-term use. Size 38 mm. Fat body proportions. It has a pot-bellied shape when viewed from all sides, clearly defined sides, a hump on the back and an elongated tail. The blade is at an angle of 45 degrees to the bait itself. There is a ring at the junction of the blade and the body of the bait. Inside the case there are 4 small metal balls.

Two of them are motionless and attached near the pelvic fin, the other two are mobile and are located in the free blade. The purpose of the balls is to create a dull sound when wiring. Thanks to these balls, the wobbler is highly effective when used in muddy water.

Jackall Tiny Fry 38

Jackall Tiny Fry 38 belongs to the Minou type bait and is a universal device. Length – 38 mm, weight – 1.5 g. The appearance of the wobbler is very similar to the fry. This look looks real. The body is covered with scales and lateral lines. The hooks are strong and will last more than one season.

The long-distance casting system and thin cord allow you to cast the bait far enough. The wobbler plays steadily with any retrieve and current. It follows the natural movements of a small fish, which makes it desirable to a predator.

Pontoon 21 Cheerful

Pontoon 21 Cheerful - length 34-60 mm, weight 2.5 g. It looks like a small fish with hooks. The body is slightly flattened laterally, the body is long. This shape imitates white fish fry. Balancing system inside the wobbler: three movable tungsten balls. Thanks to them, the bait is stable in flight and the bait splashes down correctly.

The sound of the balls also attracts fish. Despite its small size, this wobbler does not overlap when casting. A wide selection of colors allows you to choose the bait that will be most suitable for given fishing conditions.

ZipBaits Khamsin 70 SP

ZipBaits Khamsin 70 SP allows you to fish at a depth of 2-2.5 m. It has a classic shad shape: a high back and a narrowing rear part. The design imitates a large fry. Length 70 mm, weight – 9.5 g. It has a long and narrow blade, which is located at an angle of 45 degrees.

After the wobbler is lowered into the water, it takes up a working position. Does not work well in shallow water (depth up to 0.5 m). It has good cross-country ability: its shape allows it to pass through dense thickets. When fishing for perch, it is important to make a long cast of 20-25 m. There is a cylindrical weight in the central part. When a cast occurs, the load moves to the tail; after landing, the load returns to its original position thanks to the magnet.

ZipBaits Orbit 80

ZipBaits Orbit 80 is a Minnow type. It has the shape of an “Orbit” body. It copies a narrow-bodied fish. The bait can be thickly coated, or it can be made of plastic, through which the insides are visible. There is no noise system.

Length 80 mm, weight – 3.5 g. Buoyancy “Suspender”, which means that it hangs in the water column. It has a long, purlined body, round in cross-section. A balancing system with a tungsten weight is built inside. There is a barrel-shaped weight built into the head. With uneven wiring, the wobbler bites with its nose and resembles a fry that is feeding.

Pontoon 21 Crack Jack

Pontoon 21 Crack Jack weighs up to 2.5 g, length – 80 cm. The model has neutral buoyancy. Moves smoothly. If necessary, he is active. Equipped with a balancing system consisting of magnets. Thanks to this, the bait was able to fly far when casting and stay at an average depth.

The bait is equipped with two strong hooks. The tees have high-quality grooves that are designed for moving fish. Numerous attempts to get the fish off the hook end in failure. This is due to the fact that durable metal that is resistant to corrosion was used in manufacturing.

Kosadaka Cord-R 70 F

The length of Kosadaka Cord-R 70 F is 70-110 mm, weight is 4.15 g. It has a protruded body that corresponds to the classic Minnow. The advantage of this model is that it is made in the form of a double joint. The components are attached to each other with special loops. This ensures the action of the bait, the movements of which in the water imitate a small fry.

The model has a bright silicone tail. This encourages additional play in the water. It is better to store this bait in a separate box, since the silicone can melt in the heat. There are good flight qualities, thanks to the triple ball.

Strike Pro Midge

Strike Pro Midge is 40mm long. Weight 3 g. Small bait belonging to the minnow species. The body is elongated. Carries out a game, which is also accompanied by noise. It is created by a sound chamber inside the bait.

From a distance the bait looks like an insect. Thanks to the sound effect, the fish perceives the wobbler as a living creature that has fallen from the shore into the water. Biting is possible even at the moment of splashdown. Places where this bait can be used: narrow rivers, lakes and shallow reservoirs. Made of impact-resistant plastic, which will maintain the shape of the fish in case of unsuccessful casting.

Rapala Clackin' Minnow

Another fairly well-known and popular series for catching pike or perch. All models are slow-sinking suspenders. Wobblers of the series have 2 tees, one of which (the tail) has additional tail.

Models 9 and 11 cm perform well in the autumn period of predator fishing. The way it plays, the bait resembles a wounded fish and drives any predator crazy.

Review of the Rapala Jointed wobbler. Anglers' reviews of the Rapala Jointed wobbler

Wobbler Rapala Jointed is a series of lures related to the Original line. The elongated and thin profile, nicknamed the “stick”, imitates a bleak or minnow and allows it to be classified as a minnow. Despite the general similarity of the series, this one differs in its composite body. Lightweight balsa with good strength is used for manufacturing. A high-quality frame ensures reliable connection of parts and fastening of two tees. The hooks have high bending strength and good shock-absorbing characteristics. Equipped with a tip sharpened to a triangular profile. A pronounced internal beard prevents the prey from escaping. A high-quality, water-resistant housing coating provides protection for realistic paintwork.

The design nuances allow the Rapala Jointed wobbler to be used as a Floating wobbler. The depth range for wiring ranges from a depth of up to a meter. Ideal for fishing in shallow water from the shore of a lake or river. High mobility is combined with its own game, which allows you to accurately imitate the movements of a living fry. Thanks to its unique properties, it is perfectly suited for working in tandem with a spinning rod and will be effective with trolling gear.

The Rapala Jointed wobbler is recommended for use in conditions where fish are inactive. The sensitivity of the balsa two-piece body allows you to activate the game with a slight movement of the tip of the blank. The bait responds well to commands. A moving tail with high frequency vibrations and amplitude characteristics will wake up the laziest fish. Maximum realizes its properties at low temperatures. With trolling gear, the Rapala Jointed wobbler remains dynamic and retains its game features. It will be catchy on slow and fast retrieves, when manipulating speeds.

The Rapala Jointed wobbler has a large number of versions, which differ in color and weight of the bait. A rich set of color designs allows you to choose the right option for working on cold or warm water, for a certain season or period of the day. In different modifications it can be used for fishing for trout, perch, pike perch or pike:

small modifications of 5 - 7 cm, dark colors are good for perch and trout (J05, 07); for pike perch weighing up to a kilo, it is better to use options up to 10 cm (J05, 07, 09); versions J09, 11, 13 will be optimal for catching pike, provided that the design is selected correctly. Impeccable execution, a proven design and correctly selected material give the Rapala Jointed wobbler a set of unique properties that will ensure high fishing performance. The main features of this bait include:

durable and dynamic body; a wide range of colors for different fishing conditions; composite body with unique and active play; excellent controllability and responsiveness to light spinning movements.

The listed properties turn the tackle with this unique bait into an effective fishing tool that will provide consistently high results in any conditions.

This wobbler is a catcher for a very passive predator.

What is special about the Rapala Jointed wobbler?

He is a teammate and you need to lead him very slowly. With its play it resembles a wounded fish because it is a member. It is very helpful when the grass does not reach the surface of half a meter. In hot weather, the predator hides in thick grass and luring it out into clean water is problematic, but here there is such a wobbler! During the summer season I was very helpful in tall grass and working between water lilies. The pike reluctantly hit him as it emerged from the thick grass. The perch grabbed it with wild greed, moving the wobbler between the water lilies...

I’m still amazed at how well this two-piece fish catches fish! He does this in almost any conditions, using simple uniform wiring. I must say that I’m not the only one who thinks this wobbler is catchy - millions of anglers around the world have been fishing with the Rapala Jointed for several decades now and call it one of the best! The secret of catchability lies in the mobility of the segments relative to each other, as well as in the high-frequency, active game that most predators like. The bait can be cast at the lowest possible speed; it is great for playing on the spot (under the influence of the current). By the way, Jointed is very stable, it doesn’t lose its play even on the fastest stream. Fans of salmon and trout fishing admit that in many cases there is no alternative to this wobbler!

This may seem funny to some: what do you mean there is no alternative? What about the numerous Japanese-made two-piece models, which are distinguished by their beautiful design and high-tech design features? Believe it or not, the classic wooden Rapala Jointed of the simplest design often turns out to be much more catchy than the most modern wobblers. Eh, grandfather Lauri knew something...

Reflecting on the reasons for good catchability, I came to the conclusion that the secret is in the correct location of the load, as well as in connecting the segments. On all modern wobblers, the segments are connected at least at two points. And the front and rear segments of the Rapala Jointed are connected to each other at only one point. Hence the phenomenal mobility and wide range of movements. By the way, I will say that this wobbler, like many others, has practically not changed since its appearance!

Rapala stands for quality, tradition and catchability. I am sure that the products of this company will be popular for a long time. The company keeps up with the times, regularly releasing more and more new models. But at the same time, Rapala respects tradition.

In the off-season there is especially no choice where to go fishing. Therefore, my son and I decided to go to a trout farm in the Shebekinsky district of the Belgorod region.

Before this, my son was lured into buying a beautiful rapala fish, Rapala Jointed J07, at a fishing store. Trout Paradise consists of three small ponds, each slightly larger than a volleyball court.

In the third reservoir there has been no fish lately, in the second it’s just luck, but in the first the water is boiling. The shore of the first reservoir is always filled with fishermen; on the second, usually several people try their luck.

On the day of arrival, the two ponds were silent and everyone huddled together on the first one, and we were no exception. My son (6 years old) caught a couple of trout and, satisfied with the catch, handed me the spinning rod.

I moved to the second pond and attached the new Rapala Jointed J07, short casts, excellent game on the uniform and twitch. The wobbler does not fly very well, but with a test of 3-12 it is tolerable. Having made another request, I began to retrieve evenly, the pike bite was not so sharp... blow and immediately attracted the attention of anglers, spinning in an arc, trout periodically comes out on the tail, rushing from edge to edge of the pond.

You can’t be too bold with a light spinning rod with a 0.16 fishing line, I don’t know how many minutes the fight took, but I was left with a lot of impressions. I grabbed the fish, while I unhooked the wobbler, while the photo was for memory, I turned around, but there was no room on the second reservoir for casting :)

This kind of catch is not common in our area.
