I've been eyeing this wob for a long time, but the price put me off. And yet, recently I couldn’t resist, I ordered it and I’m already catching it. I've done 4 fishing trips so far with this bait - definitely one pike, but I'll catch it.

True, objectively, there are still small things that come across, but I think everything is still ahead. My main wiring is 2 or 3 jerks, a pause... As a rule, during the pause or the next jerk after that, all the bites were there.

Minuses. The wobbler is seriously peeling off.

If you ask me to name my best wobbler for catching pike, I will immediately say - OSP Rudra 130SP! Rudra is simply a “professor” of pike fishing. This particular wobbler catches pike like no other!

Being a so-called “rudraman”, I have a whole collection consisting of six wobblers of this series.

Asura OSP Rudra 130 SP combines previously incompatible characteristics in the big minnow class. Due to the design features of the body, the bait exhibits flickering, creates a powerful game, and attracts a large predator from a long distance, which would not even look at a regular-sized minnow. The honeycomb super HP body (PAT.) deserves special mention – a super body with a honeycomb structure. The manufacturer calls this marvel a “highly efficient body with a cellular structure” and assures that the bait owes its incomparable performance to it. The sides of the Rudra are flat to maximize glare.

Due to the low-mounted fixed weight and three movable weights, a design with a low center of gravity is created. This allows you to use even the slowest reeling, and at the same time the wobbler will play perfectly. In addition, the suspender, due to its ability to hover in the water column, increases the chances of a bite at depth, where the predator is not as careful as on the surface.

The paintwork of the OSP Rudra 130sp wobbler is not bad, but it could be better. After several intense fishing trips, the wobbler became quite worn out. The tees are also good and do not require replacement. The huge range of colors is amazing, and with all this, the manufacturer never ceases to surprise us with new colors every year.

Lakes and rivers with medium currents are suitable for fishing with this wobbler. In a moderate flow, the rudra does not collapse and does not lose its play.

Weighing just three-quarters of an ounce (20g), the Rudra presents no difficulty in casting. Generally speaking, its weight is somewhere at the top of my personal rating of lures, but, fortunately, the spinning rod handled this bait just fine. It is worth especially noting such a serious advantage of a wobbler of similar weight and size as the ease of casting against the wind or steeply towards it: neither the head nor the side wind affects the Rudra - it calmly flies to the intended point. This is really great quality.

The wobbler is buried to a depth of 1.8 meters. But having sound effects, it has the amazing ability to “collect” fish from large areas and “lift” fish from 4-5 meters deep! Few wobblers can boast of this ability.

The Rudra is essentially a jerkbait and is very tenacious. Therefore, for high-quality wiring I use three different kits: Favorite Varita 702H (15-45g) and two casting kits. Rudra requires hard wiring, you have to literally PUNCH it! In my opinion, the best wiring is the following: two very hard (but short) jerks, a pause (3-4 seconds), a stretch. As a rule, the pike hits the wobbler while pulling!

Rudra is designed for a depth of just under 2 m, after each jerk it stops a little in the characteristic “head down” position, and throwing when retrieved resembles the behavior of a “stick”. As soon as you stop the animation, the bait immediately stops, and if you give enough slack to the cord, it will begin to turn in the water column. This wobbler works very accurately and sensitively.

In my region, the wobbler has proven itself remarkably well in both natural and acid colors. But I myself prefer the so-called “acid”. The wobbler certainly specializes in pike, this is its main element. Where other models are silent, he literally mows down the toothy one.

I remember one of the fishing trips. I went fishing with the goal of catching two new items in my box: Deps Balisong 130sp and Nories Laydown Minnow 110f. Upon arrival at the reservoir, I realized that I needed to rely on noise wobblers, since there was a strong wind, waves and muddy water. There were no bites for the first half hour, but then it started: Rudra (mate tiger) simply “torn” the balis and nories to shreds. The wobbler worked on my line: two strong jerks, a pause...a pull..., BAM! Then about 9 tails were caught on the rudra, the rest of the wobblers did not show themselves in any way. Rudra did all the fishing that day.

In natural colors, OSP Rudra 130sp works no worse, as they say, it’s not an acquired taste!

To be fair, it is worth saying that it is not only pike that takes rudra. Large perch and pike perch are caught quite successfully, and a white predator is also caught.

Fishing with a rudra from a boat is more comfortable, but if the depth of the reservoir near the shore is 2-4 meters, then the bait shows almost worse results! Of course, other modifications of the rudra are also in demand: S, MSF, SPEC 2. Sometimes a sinking model is indispensable when the fish is deep and inactive. And sometimes floating models give a head start, in relatively small places. But what is truly indispensable is a model with neutral buoyancy. This is truly a legendary model that always brings fish.

I want to share my impressions of the ASURA Rudra 130 SP wobbler from the Japanese brand OSP. The bait is not new and has already proven itself in the fishing world only on the positive side. I discovered it for myself quite recently, two years ago, although I heard and read a lot about this wobbler, but I can honestly say that at first I doubted that a wobbler of this size in our area would be pecked by pike, which in our area is mostly around a kilogram. But as it turned out, my doubts were in vain. The wobbler turned out to be quite tempting even for two hundred gram squirrels.

Now about the characteristics. The wobbler has the shape of a classic minnow. The length is 13 cm, weight 20 grams, although the weight may vary depending on the type of wobbler: floating, neutral and sinking.

The wobbler is equipped with three sharp tees that leave no chance for the pike to escape. The wobbler can go deep up to 1.8 meters. Its flight qualities are excellent, we even had to throw it into strong winds, but due to its weight and special loading in the form of constantly moving balls inside, the wobbler copes with this task well, it can even be called a long-range shooter. The game of the wobbler is also quite attractive, whether it is a uniform retrieve or an aggressive twitch, this wobbler just needs a twitching spinning rod with the appropriate test. The colors of the wobbler are very diverse and attractive not only to the fish, but also to the angler.

Sometimes you don’t know what’s best to choose, your eyes just run wild. But the quality of the paint is not up to par, after a couple of pikes caught, serious scratches, peeling of paint and varnish are already observed, although I don’t know what the paint coating should be like that could withstand the sharpness of tees or pike teeth, which cut fishing line or cord without any problems the same as a knife. Then, as experts say, the color of a wobbler is more for the fisherman, a kind of beautiful wrapper, the fish in this regard is not so demanding. And also, the shabby the wobbler, the better it catches - this is also from many years of observations by anglers.

Of the shortcomings, I can probably only mention one - the price, which varies in various stores from 1100 to 1600 rubles, which is a lot for a consumable material. A friend of mine bought such a wobbler for 1,300 rubles and on the first cast he shot it, in general, not only did he not see any fish, but he also didn’t see any water, so this happens.

Introduction: While OSP is not exactly new to the lure industry, it is virtually unknown here in the United States. It’s a different matter in Japan, where for quite some time it has been producing effective, excellent quality wobblers, which the buyer chases no worse than the fish for which they are intended. When it comes to the most popular wobblers, there are always a couple of “favorites” who already know all the advantages of the new OSP product. Still, let me offer you our first review of some of the company’s products. There is no need to think for a long time about which one is better to choose in order to present it - of course, it will be the famous jerk bait, which has long won the sympathy of fishermen. So, we present to you the OSP Rudra 130-SP.

Impressions: for those who are already familiar with – and maybe even already use – wobblers like the Lucky Craft Pointer 128SP, it won’t be difficult to “make friends” with Rudra. But fans of Lucky Craft Pointer 100SP, Megabass Vision 110, or even smaller jerk baits will certainly find a surprise in the box with OSP Rudra. In any case, that’s exactly the feeling we had when we first unboxed the Rudra for testing – the size of the jerk bait turned out to be impressive!

Field tests: of course, if compared with a swimbait, then... In general, you understand. Everything in the world is relative. I fished the OSP Rudra with a Custom G.Loomis MB843C GLX spinning rod custom made by Matt Davis of Otterods. Paired with a 2004 TDZ Custom in Yellow reel and Sunline Shooter FC 6.35kg fluorocarbon line, this is the perfect package for testing a jerk bait!

Weighing just three-quarters of an ounce (22.5g), the Rudra presents no difficulty in casting. Generally speaking, its weight is somewhere at the top of my personal rating of MB843 lures, but, fortunately, the spinning rod handled this bait just fine. It is worth especially noting such a serious advantage of a wobbler of similar weight and size as the ease of casting against the wind or steeply towards it: neither the head nor the side wind affects the Rudra - it calmly flies to the intended point. This is really great quality.

Wiring: It seems that wobblers of the size of the Rudra are designed for deep water, but this is not so: in reality, it does not go very deep. Rudra is designed for a depth of just under 2 m, although I had the feeling that it did not reach this depth (most likely due to the characteristics of my spinning rod). Instead, I saw (the water was clear) that Rudra was walking at a depth of only about a meter. After each jerk, it stops a little in the characteristic “head down” position, and the throwing movements during the retrieve resemble the behavior of a “stick”. As soon as you stop the animation, the bait immediately stops, and if you give enough slack to the cord, it will begin to turn in the water column. This wobbler works very accurately and sensitively.

Features: We have already said that the Rudra is decent in size. The wobbler comes with 3 tee hooks, perfectly sharpened and quite impressive in size. The body of the bait consists of several sealed chambers running across the length of the wobbler. The manufacturer calls this marvel a “highly efficient body with a cellular structure” and assures that the bait owes its incomparable performance to it. The sides of the Rudra are flat to maximize glare.

For our limited testing in the California Delta (right during the striped bass run), we tested the Rudra side-by-side with a similarly painted Lucky Craft Pointer 100SP (Aurora Black). Zander threw Pointer, I threw Rudra. I pulled out 18 perches of different sizes (the fish were in school, so there was no talk about the size of the catch), and Zander - 11 pieces. Then we changed baits - this time he “took out” 15 against only 5 from me. I called our test “limited” because on any given day the fish, for reasons known to them (however, natural), prefer one or another bait. And on the test day she clearly needed Rudra. We did not have the opportunity to try again, but, in any case, that time we were convinced that Rudra was certainly an effective bait.

Application: Rudra with its 130 mm length is a truly excellent jerk bait designed for catching various types of fish. In the California delta it worked great for striped and largemouth bass and became one of my favorite jerks for bass (not least because of its decent size). A wide yaw sector during retrieving will certainly be tempting for the most impressive representatives of both species.

If we assume that the OSP Rudra 130sp wobbler can serve as an indicator (of something), then we can expect really serious and pleasant surprises from the OSP company. People here are already talking about some of the “cranks” they produce – well, we are waiting for the opportunity to see this for ourselves. We can only hope that the company will adjust production and distribution to the level of its own products - otherwise, given the number of offers of artificial baits on the market (especially rip baits), our patient wait for the opportunity to finally purchase these wobblers at reasonable prices may end. In the meantime, if you are one of the fanatics of rip baits, try to get yourself one or two “Rudras”. (I’ve already added it to my box, but I’m definitely not going to share it with anyone!)

Commercial pike often become victims of the Rudra 130 SP. The wobbler allows you to cut off small things and attracts the attention of individuals of at least a kilogram. When using this bait, it is not uncommon to catch specimens over three kilograms.

Rudra 130 sp weighs exactly 20 grams. The bait is perfectly balanced and hangs in the water during pauses. The working horizon of the wobbler is from 1.5 to 2.0 meters. Although, due to his noticeable and appetizing game, he can easily lift a predator from a depth of more than 5 meters.

Advice! Carefully select a leash for Rudra, since too heavy a lead can turn the suspender into a sinking bait, which will deprive it of its main “trick” of hanging in the water column.

Execution: Above all praise, there are no complaints about a single element.

I didn’t seem to find any disadvantages, it’s just that the F version worked worse than the suspenders.

The wobbler is definitely worthwhile and if the opportunity arises, I will definitely buy it in the Suspendor version and the MatTiger color. And Rudra also gave me the biggest trophy: a 5kg pike.

You can often find requests from beginners to find a 110 mm Rudra. We will have to disappoint them - there is no such modification. If you need a bait of shorter length, then instead of the Rudra you can recommend the Varuna or Asura Jerkbait wobbler.

Varuna has a length of 110 mm and is available in floating and suspended versions. Works at depths of about 2 meters. It is not inferior to Rudra in catchability.
