How the bait works

Use bite activators when fishing. Many do not trust modern means based on the use of various additives and ready-made mixtures for bait. In practice, their production is based on an analysis of the behavior of fish, its reaction to various components. A striking example is how fishing is activated when using chocolate-flavored bait.
Use high-sensitivity equipment when biting fish. When the water is turbulent, or a rather tricky fish is being caught, the fisherman does not always notice the beginning of the bite due to rough equipment. Mixture composition

The composition of flea technoplankton for the press must be known if you intend to make the mixture yourself. It should contain components that could make the contents of the briquette more attractive to fish. If everything was done correctly, the components will have different buoyancy and specific gravity. Due to this, the cloud of nutrients when the food bolus dissolves forms several levels.

Industrial types may vary in composition, depending on the manufacturer. If you plan to make it yourself using a press for technoplankton, then it is advisable to use the following components:

Fillers. It can be corn, oatmeal, peas, buckwheat, millet, dry cookies. All this must be ground to flour.
Adhesives. Necessary in order to prevent the food bolus from quickly dissolving. Maltodextrin, dextrin, dry cream and milk, powdered sugar are included in this category. It is advisable to use a combination of these components rather than using them separately.
Flavors. Suitable for use in any form. It is necessary to use such a quantity that the kneading would be stable. Pisces like sweet aromas: strawberry, honey, raspberry, vanilla and caramel.
Dissolution retardant. Rice flour and starch perform this role excellently.
Humidifier. Its role is usually played by water.
Bubbling component. Provides the so-called geyser effect. Due to this, the ingredients dissolve when entering the water. This can be baking soda, effervescent tablets, dry kvass starter. The ratio in which this component of the recipe should be taken is 1/6.

Cooking recipes

The advantages of making technoplankton at home are:

significant cost savings;
the ability to independently come up with unique recipes.

According to the observations of experienced fishermen, some types of fish are much more willing to bite on homemade bait.

Each fisherman has his own special recipe, which he considers most effective. But there are compositions that are recognized as the most popular.

Recipe 1:

Corn flour - 200 g. An alternative can be popcorn ground in a coffee grinder.
Wheat flour - 200 g.
Oatmeal - 300 g.
Semolina - 200 g.
150 g of soda + a little citric acid.

All ingredients of the recipe are mixed and moistened with a small amount of water. You need to add enough liquid to form a plastic dough. It is moved into a press and briquettes are made. You can also bake the mixture in the microwave. The effervescent mixture can be mixed into the mass just before pressing.

Recipe 2:

semolina - 0.5 kg;
corn flour - 0.5 kg;
breadcrumbs - 300 g;
hominy - 300 g;
sugar - 300 g.

The mixture is stirred until smooth, after which it is gradually diluted with honey solution.

Recipe 3:

a can of condensed milk;
cake powder;
dry milk mixture.

Condensed milk is poured into any suitable container and dry ingredients are gradually added. As soon as the mixture reaches the consistency of sour cream, transfer it to the freezer for half an hour. It is important that equal amounts of cake mix and milk powder are added. After 30 minutes, take out the finished dough and knead it, adding dry ingredients again in equal quantities. Bulk ingredients are added little by little to prevent the dough from thickening too quickly. For greater stickiness, moisten it with water. At the end of cooking, pass the dough through a sieve and put it under a press.

Recipes for making your own technoplakton

Each fisherman makes the composition in his own way, but there are several of the most popular mixtures, which we will focus on.

Recipe 1:

200 grams of corn flour (you can make it from popcorn ground in a coffee grinder);
200 grams of wheat flour;
300 grams of oatmeal flour;
200 grams of semolina flour;
150 grams of soda + lemon juice.

All ingredients must be mixed and sprinkled with water. When the dough becomes plastic, it must be placed in a press and made into briquettes, or it can be baked in a microwave oven. The effervescent mixture must be mixed with the mass immediately before pressing.

Recipe 2:

0.5 kg of raw semolina;
0.5 kg corn flour;
300 grams of breadcrumbs;
300 grams of mamalyga;
300 grams of sugar.

Mix everything until smooth and dilute with honey solution, gradually.

Recipe 3:

1 can of condensed milk;
Powdered milk mixture;
Powder cake.

Pour a can of condensed milk into a bowl and gradually stir in the dry ingredients until the mixture reaches the consistency of sour cream. Milk and cake should be added in equal quantities. Place this in the freezer for half an hour. Then we take it out and knead it into a tight dough, again adding dry ingredients in equal quantities. Add the bulk part a little at a time; if you add a lot at once, the dough may thicken too quickly. Moisten slightly with water to make it sticky. At the end we pass it through a sieve and press it.

Recipe 4 for feeding on the bottom:

0.5 kg of dog food;
100 grams of roasted ground peanuts;
50 grams of dry sweet pepper;
1 cup powdered sugar.

If you want to use this recipe for float fishing, add more dry ingredients.

Recipe 5:

250 grams of ready-made fruit jelly;
1 tsp. honey;
Any combination of crushed cereal flakes, breadcrumbs and powdered milk.

Mix the cooled jelly with honey, and then gradually add the dry mixture into it until a moist (but not wet) mixture is formed. Place the compressed barrels on a napkin to dry completely.

Recipe 6:

350 g ground flour;
350 g raw sunflower seeds;
150 grams of wheat flour;
150 grams of rice flour;
1 cup corn flakes;
100 grams of milk powder.

First grind all components to a powder using a coffee grinder, and then mix.

Recipe 7:

250 grams of sunflower seeds;
150 grams of shortbread cookies with creamy taste;
125 grams of dry cream;
250 grams of cooked peas;
250 grams of fish bait;
250 grams of semolina;
125 grams of protein powder;
Flavoring.

Grind all ingredients and mix.

Recipe 8:

0.5 kg corn flour;
250 g rice flour;
250 g pea flour;
250 g buckwheat flour;
250 g milk baby food with rice;
250 grams of raw peanuts;
250 g raw sunflower seeds without peel;
Honey syrup.

Recipe 9:

1 tbsp. Sunflower seed;
150 grams of dry cookies with vanilla flavor;
250 grams of chopped popcorn;
250 grams of semolina;
250 grams of corn flour;
250 grams of milk powder;
125 grams of cucumber flour.

To make cucumber flour, you need to grate the cucumber, dry it and then grind it. The flour has a fairly strong aroma, which attracts silver carp well.

Recipe 10:

4 parts flour for hominy;
4 parts millet flour;
1 part rice flour;
1 part milk powder;
Vanilla flavored sugar syrup.

Mix everything, adding syrup periodically. The total syrup should be added to about 30% of the total mass. Then let the mixture rest for 60 minutes. And at the end, we pass through a coarse sieve, press and dry.

Sugar syrup: 1 part water + 1 part sugar + vanilla, boil everything for 20 minutes and cool. If you need to increase buoyancy, add crushed cork.

How to increase your fish catch?

Over 7 years of active fishing, I have found dozens of ways to improve the bite. Here are the most effective ones:

Preparing the mixture in a mixer

All components of this recipe are mixed in a mixer and then put under pressure. A universal recipe for any type of fish includes:

ready-made fruit jelly - 250 g;
honey - 50 g;
oat flour - 100 g;
rye, corn, pea flour - 100 g each;
bran - 100 g;
breadcrumbs, rice flakes - 100 g each;
crushed sunflower seeds - 200 g;
effervescent mixture - 175 g.

To prepare bait for bottom fishing, you need:

dog food - 0.5 kg;
roasted ground peanuts - 100 g;
dried sweet peppers - 50 g;
powdered sugar - 1 cup.

A similar recipe can be used for float fishing, but it will require more dry ingredients.

DIY technoplankton

Making technoplankton
To make technoplankton, you need molds, although there is a recipe for making it without them. There are a huge number of recipes for the mixture from which technoplankton is made, but the main role in any of them will be played by the smell and ability of the mixture to generate dust.

Since the material is designed for an untrained fisherman, we will use the simplest options for preparing technoplankton with our own hands

Without abs

To form the mixture you will need a plastic device similar to a mold, but if you get the hang of it, you can do everything by hand. Here, strong pressure is not required - the whole secret is in the syrup, which is added to the mixture, and which sticks it together after drying.

The mixture can be charged into the feeder in a moistened form, and the dried balls are put on the trempel through the hole like ordinary technoplankton. Drying takes a week or more, so technoplankton should be prepared in advance.

Technoplankton can be dried in the microwave

As you understand, it is not necessary to use a ready-made mixture from the store. You can make it yourself from simple and affordable ingredients - pea flour, breadcrumbs and milk powder mixed in equal parts.

Here, a press is used to mold technoplankton, but if we mix the mixture with the syrup from the previous recipe, then we won’t need it.

Influence of fishing conditions

To prepare technoplankton recipes with your own hands, you don’t need anything complicated, but it doesn’t hurt to take a number of points into account. First of all, these are fishing conditions. If you are going to fish on the bottom, you will need substances that dissolve gradually and leave a significant cloudy trace behind.

If we are talking about fishing on the bottom, you definitely need to add ingredients that tend to “dust”. These should be components that can float, for example, bran, a wine cork, ground to small particles.

Adhesive base and flavors

The adhesive base should include those components that are able to dissolve slowly in water and can be easily pressed. To make technoplankton with your own hands, you can use:

Maltodextrin, dextrin. The mass of these components should be no more than 12% of the total weight of the bait.
Powdered sugar, milk powder or cream powder. Of the total weight, the mass of these components should be about 10%.

In addition to the main components, flavorings can be added to the technoplankton composition. They can be used in liquid or dry form. These substances should give a persistent odor. It is best to add sweet flavors, such as vanilla, strawberry, raspberry, caramel or honey.

If complementary foods dissolve quickly in water, then you can add a little rice flour or starch to the composition. These components enhance pressing. However, you should be careful. If you add too much starch or rice flour, the opposite effect will be observed. The tablets will begin to dissolve much faster.

If technoplankton is very poorly pressed, then you can add a little water. One tablet requires half a gram. The result should be a hard and dry bait that is very difficult to break.

Press for the production of technoplankton

Such equipment is a must for those who plan to prepare technoplankton at home on their own. There are several types of it:

mechanical screw press;
high pressure hydraulic press.

An alternative may be methods for obtaining technoplankton, such as microwave pressing and squeezing with a jack.

A simple modification for cold pressing includes the following components:

Cup. Intended for pressing out. You will need a metal tube 10 cm long with a small diameter and a thread at one end so that you can screw on the plug.
Cork. Its role can be played by a screw-on plug for a water pipe.
Pin. Used for holes in gear. Holes are drilled in the plug cap and a strong and thin bayonet is fixed in it. It is required to make a hole in the finished barrel. The plug is screwed onto the main tube.
Seal. A metal cylinder of such a diameter is selected that it easily fits into the tube and is pressed tightly against it. The cylinder should have the same length as the tube. You can screw the same plug onto the internal piston.

Work algorithm:

a plug is screwed onto the main tube;
the tube is filled with a batch;
the piston is inserted;
The structure is clamped with a jack or a bench vise;
the piston is removed, after which the cap of the tube is unscrewed;
the resulting barrel of technoplankton is pushed out.

To do similar processes in a microwave oven, there are several options.

Application of plastic tube

Take a plastic pipe of small diameter - approximately 30 mm. Cut a piece 7 cm long. Take two plugs and tightly close both ends of the tube. One end is closed with a stopper, and the mixture is pushed into the opposite end. The opposite end is closed with a stopper. After this, you can send the mixture to bake in the microwave. You don't have to use lids to cover the tubes and just leave the food ball to bake.

Using a syringe

Take 2 disposable syringes with a volume of 20 ml. From the side of the needle nose, one syringe is cut to form a cylinder. On one side it is baked by a piston and filled with substance. On the other hand, it is clamped tightly with a piston from another syringe. Following this, you can insert a second piston. At the same time, you can take it out and put the cylinder in the microwave.

Cold pressing in microwave oven

During cold pressing, the finished mixture is placed into equipment and hardened using pressure. At the same time, it turns into a barrel-tablet.

If a microwave oven is used for these purposes, then the energy of electromagnetic radiation is used. The substance is placed in a plastic tube with stoppers at both ends. When cold pressing, hold the mixture for no more than 30 seconds.

The nuances of making a press

You don't need complex drawings to assemble the press. You can protect yourself with drawings and watch training videos, which will only benefit you when creating a high-quality form.

The main nuances of the assembly are the competent calculation of components and the choice of an effective pressing device. The most common bottle-type car jack performs well in the role of the latter.

The approximate dimensions of structural elements for technoplankton are as follows:

A hollow cylindrical shape into which the ingredients will be loaded. Choose the walls of the metal tube with a thickness of about 5 mm, and the height of the cylinder - 60 mm. An internal diameter of 27 mm is quite enough for preparing bait;
Support nickels. They should be made with an inner rounded surface. To ensure reliable support, provide a size 4-6 mm larger than the working cylinder. In the center, a rod is attached by welding, which is necessary to form a longitudinal hole in the TP. Usually the length is 5 cm;
Upper element of the press. Choose a cylinder with an outer diameter of about 27 mm, depending on the inner diameter of the hollow cylinder. That is, they should be the same.

If you correctly select all the components of the structure that fit perfectly together, you will get technoplankton of excellent quality. You will be able to produce bait that is smooth, beautiful, and dense enough for successful fishing. For comparison, the price of a finished press is 1000 rubles.

How to cook technoplankton

To prepare technoplankton with your own hands, having special molds at your disposal, you need to follow a few simple recommendations and consistently carry out all operations.

Choose the appropriate composition for preparing future bait. There are a huge number of recipes, so you will have to use an experimental method to select the composition specifically for your region or body of water. Or consult with experienced fishermen, find out what fish bite best. This is already your task.
Semolina or corn flour is usually used as the basis for preparing TP. To make the composition more dense, add a little sugar or honey.
The prepared composition is loaded into the working cylinder.
After filling the mixture, tamp it down a little and cover with the top lid.
Install your bottle car jack with the stem facing up. In this case, do not forget about the need to use a steel support plate.
To obtain technoplankton of sufficient density, it is enough to press the cylinder with a force of up to 5 tons. If the force is higher, you may damage the assembled mold. This is another powerful argument in favor of do-it-yourself presses. Beginners often do not calculate the load, which is why the new product breaks. I have to shell out about 1,000 rubles again to make bait for the fish.
The smooth edges of the press machine ensure free exit of the finished technoplankton from their cylinder. Sometimes it makes sense to brush the edges with flavored oil. It will definitely prevent technoplankton from getting stuck in the cylinder, plus it will give additional attractiveness to the bait in the eyes of the fish.

Additional Tips

When selecting bait, it is important to consider the time of year. It happens that fish prefer certain components in the summer, while in the spring months it remains indifferent to them. If, due to the heat, the pond has become heavily bloomed, then the fish will not be interested in bait. This is due to the fact that there is an abundance of food in the pond during this period. For this reason, it is better to change the reservoir to another where there is clean water.

Fishing with bottom tackle involves the use of foam balls. Thanks to them, it is possible to raise the hooks above the technoplankton. These products are not required for float fishing.

Sometimes it happens that the current carries a cloud of food away from the hooks. In this case, you can use a sliding weight on the fishing line located between the rod and the float. It should be light in weight. The tackle can get tangled when retrieving the catch, so you need to be careful. It is also advisable to regularly change hooks and replace them with new ones before each fishing trip.
