Types of reels and how to choose the best one for spinning

Fans of spinning, both beginners and experienced, often ask themselves: which reel is best for spinning? To answer this and many other questions, we have compiled a rating of the best reels for spinning, with the help of which you can understand the huge variety of spinning reels that currently represented on the fishing market.

The correct balance of all your fishing equipment depends on a correctly selected reel, and both the size of your catch and the pleasure you receive in the fishing process depend on this. The choice of a spinning reel must be approached with the utmost seriousness.

When choosing a spinning reel, a fisherman must be guided by a large number of criteria, the main ones being:

  • What kind of fish and in what fishing conditions will you catch?
  • What rod, what line, what bait will you use when fishing?
  • Which reel manufacturer are you ready to purchase?
  • The budget you are willing to spend on purchasing a reel

Here is a list of the main key points that an angler should pay attention to when choosing a spinning reel designed for spinning fishing.

The best manufacturers of spinning reels

Before presenting the rating of the best spinning reels, you should understand the question of which spinning reel manufacturers are the best. In the fishing world, it is generally accepted that the two best manufacturers of spinning reels in the world are the two world-famous Japanese companies Shimano and Daiwa. These two manufacturers are true standards of high quality and reliability. As a rule, it is the reels produced by these two companies that are chosen by experienced, professional spinning players. The assortment of both companies includes budget-level, mid-price and premium reels. Every angler, no matter what financial capabilities he has, will be able to choose a reel that suits his fishing conditions according to his capabilities.

In addition to the two aforementioned companies that are leaders in the production of reels, reels from other manufacturers are also represented on the domestic market; some of these manufacturers have achieved popularity among fishermen and therefore they are also represented in our rating. Among these companies producing spinning reels, the following should be highlighted: Ryobi, Okuma, Salmo, Abu Garcia, Penn and some others. In the process of choosing a spinning reel for a spinning rod, first of all you need to pay attention to the quality of the reel. You should pay attention to reviews from anglers regarding a specific reel model, which can be viewed on the Internet.

Top 10 best spinning reels

In the rating of the best spinning reels, we included reels that have, in our opinion, the highest price-quality ratio, and the rating included both budget reel models, mid-price reels and premium reels.

carp reel

A large spinning reel that can withstand heavy loads and hold a lot of thick fishing line. Carp are usually caught at a great distance from the shore, that is, the reel must provide a high casting range and accommodate more than 200 meters of fishing line. Carp spools are usually elongated and have a cone shape for better line release. Spool sizes up to 14,000, for example, Shimano Ultegra 14000 XTD.

Shimano Stella reel

The Shimano Stella reel is the most expensive reel in our rating; it is the top series of reels from the top manufacturer, Shimano.

The reel has an amazing appearance, excellent running and power properties. The reel is lightweight due to the use of a special alloy in the material of the reel body. The Shimano Stella series of reels includes reels of different sizes and gear ratios, each angler will be able to choose the one that suits him. The reel is very popular among professional spinning athletes due to its reliability and high quality characteristics.

The previous generation of the Shimano Stella reel was produced until 2021, it was designated by the FI index; we talked about this reel in more detail in our review. At the beginning of 2018, Shimano updated its Shimano Stella reel, releasing its new generation, which became known as Shimano Stella FJ; you can read more about this new product in our article.

Inertia coils

Inertial ones are used mainly for float fishing, fly fishing, and winter fishing. Most often, round inertial reels simply serve to store fishing line on it, and the process of pulling the fishing line is done by hand, for example, in winter and float fishing.

Although there are inertia reels with a large diameter, they are used for constant winding/resetting of fishing line during fishing, are rarely used, and do not have normal friction.

Reel Daiwa Certate

Daiwa has been one of the world leaders in the production of fishing products for over 50 years. The Daiwa Certate reel is rightfully considered by anglers to be one of the top reels in the Daiwa product range; it has been produced since 2004. During its production, the reel was produced in several generations; the latest fourth generation of the reel has been produced since 2021.

Based on the technical solutions and innovations used in it, the Daiwa Certate reel is one of the most advanced reels currently produced. You can read more about the Daiwa Certate reel in our review.

Float reel

For a regular fishing rod, inertial models are used that work like a reel for storing fishing line. Winter reels perform a similar task - storing fishing line. Rewinding is usually done by hand. There are models of winter reels already built into the fishing rod itself. An important requirement for them is lightness.

Shimano Twin Power reel

The name of this reel speaks for itself, Twin Power means: double power, it is truly a real power reel, which also has the highest reliability and workmanship.

Shimano is constantly improving its products, after painstaking development, releasing new series of reels with improved parameters. The latest generation of this reel was released in 2015, it included the latest technical developments by Shimano engineers.

The Shimano Twin Power reel is available in a wide range of sizes, in which every spinning angler can choose a reel that suits his parameters. The reel is very well suited for jigging, especially heavy jigging, twitching and other methods of spinning fishing in which the reel is subjected to serious force loads.

The reel lays the line very well, even when using the thinnest braids; this quality is especially useful when fishing with a spinning rod using jerk wiring.

Ryobi Zauber reel

A very popular model that has gained recognition among spinning fishermen. There is a lot to praise about the reel: an “endless” screw system on two support ball bearings, a precisely adjustable friction brake with oversized washers, and the number of bearings is 8+1. The reel comes in a series of 4 sizes: 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000. The most popular size model is 2000.

The reel is somewhat heavy for an ultralight. It is recommended to use this reel on rods of the medium-light class or higher. The Ryobi Zauber reel is a real workhorse that can be used for both spinner fishing and twitching or jig fishing. For many years, the Ryobi brand has been pleasing spinners with high quality, good reliability and an inexpensive price. In terms of price/quality ratio, the Ryobi Zauber reel is one of the best offers on our market.

Salmo Diamond SPIN reel

The Salmo company is a well-known Baltic manufacturer of fishing goods, producing gear available to a wide range of customers. The Salmo Diamond SPIN reel is absolutely universal; it can be used in a wide variety of spinning fishing areas.

It is quite clear that you cannot demand perfect line winding from a budget spinning reel, so it is not so comfortable to fish with jigging or twitching with this reel; for these fishing options it is better to use more expensive reels. And yet, as for silicone baits, various wobblers, spinners, and spinners, the Salmo Diamond SPIN reel can be used quite well.

Daiwa Crest ($60-70)

These reels from Daiwa are similar in many ways to Ryobi's previous line. What they have in common is a similar budget price and the heavy weight of all models. The Daiwa Crest is a little lighter (for example, the weight of a reel with size 2000 is 270 g), but not everything is perfect when it comes to reliability.

With intensive use of the coils, over time, backlashes and interruptions in the operation of the mechanism appear. The line laying is quite tolerable, although sometimes the loops still fall off.

Each reel has 5 bearings, no spare spool included.

On the topic of spinning reels, we recommend our important review of spinning reels.

Spinning reel

The main element of a spinning reel is the spool. During casting, the line comes off freely: the spool itself remains motionless, which eliminates the moment of inertia. The line is laid during reeling using a line layer, consisting of a bracket, a guide roller and a mechanism that ensures the spool moves back and forth. The mechanism is driven by a handle fixed on the rotor.

Among the obvious advantages of spinning reels of this type it is worth mentioning:

  • a wide range of possible baits;
  • control of winding and line convergence;
  • minimal risk of beard formation;
  • high casting range and precision;
  • ease of learning;
  • possibility of adjusting elements.

Among the disadvantages of such designs, it is worth mentioning the inevitable twisting of the fishing line, low sensitivity (compared to inertial models), and the complexity of repair and maintenance.

Manufacturers offer hundreds of models of inertia-free motors that look very similar to each other. In any case, without experience and purely outwardly, it is quite difficult to discern the differences between a high-quality branded model and a cheap Chinese one. But according to the picture, it’s completely impossible.

Therefore, if you live in a fairly large locality and can visit a specialized store, opt for a visit to a real retail outlet and visually inspect your potential purchase.

The main nuances lie in the depths of the design, so then you need to estimate the weight of the reel, test it for smoothness, and so on. All structural elements will not be revealed to you, but a lot of interesting things can be gleaned from the technical characteristics of the model specified by the manufacturer. But again, you can only trust them if you are dealing with uncompromisingly branded products. Yes, most spinning reels are now produced in the Middle Kingdom (this is beneficial to manufacturers, because it is cheap), but one should distinguish between a certified product and an outright counterfeit without a name.

However, let's talk about the design features of inertia-free motors in detail.

Frame

The case must be flawless both visually and to the touch: no burrs, cracks or other defects. The inscriptions should be easy to read and certainly not be erased by a finger even with force.

The design of the housing can leave the spool completely open. Reels with open spools are installed mainly on classic straight rods. Their main advantages are the ease of changing the spool, high sensitivity, minimizing line wear and, under generally equal conditions, a lower price. However, spontaneous line slippage cannot be ruled out either due to inept casting or strong wind.

Reels with a closed spool (the line comes out through a special hole) have another advantage: it is difficult to tangle the thread even with the most unprofessional handling. This simplifies operation (including in difficult wind conditions), but complicates the procedure for replacing the spool. The line wears out much faster (this is facilitated by passing through a large number of parts), which makes it difficult to use the cord. Sensitivity also suffers: the angler has poor control over the line tension.

However, expensive closed coils allow the use of good cords and provide quite decent sensitivity. By the way, many closed models are equipped with triggers or buttons for operating the line guide, which is very convenient.

You can also choose a semi-closed reel: widening the hole along the diameter of the spool minimizes friction, increasing sensitivity and preventing line tangling.

Materials

A spinning reel is a rather complex mechanism with many moving elements (even the spool does not rotate, but moves back and forth) when winding the fishing line. Therefore, most moving elements are made of high-strength alloys (at least for premium models) - this is the only way to ensure their strength.

To make a static body and a relatively stationary spool, either metals (from light aluminum and alloys with bronze to very durable and expensive titanium) or artificial polymers and composite materials with the addition of graphite are usually used. It is clear that metals are stronger, but heavier, polymers - vice versa. When spinning fishing, both the strength and weight of the reel (balance with the rod) are important, which is to be preferred? In the mid-price segment, manufacturers often compromise by combining materials: for example, a lightweight plastic spool forms an optimal alliance with a metal body.

Ultralight reels are made primarily from high-strength polymers, providing premium lightweight rigs.

Size and Capacity

In fact, everything is quite simple: the size of the reel is in direct proportion to the capacity of the spool. And these parameters are prescribed by the manufacturer of the rod itself in its technical characteristics (by the way, there are also requirements for fishing line there).

The Shimano classification is most indicative in this regard. It shows how much line of a certain thickness a spool can hold. For example, on a 1000 spool there will be 100 meters of thread or cord with a thickness of 0.1 mm, on a 2000 - 100 m of fishing line with a diameter of 0.2 mm or twice as much as 0.1 mm, and so on.

In this regard, there is a simple rule. Depending on the characteristics of the rods, they are equipped with:

  • for light – 1000-1500 (there are even ultra-light 500);
  • for medium-lights and mediums – 2000-3000;
  • for medium heavy and heavy – 3000-5000.

Weight

The weight of the reel must be in balance with the characteristics of the spinning rod (length, test, action). The more powerful the tackle, the heavier the reel it requires. Choosing a reel that is lighter than specified in the manufacturer’s recommendations leads to an imbalance. This means that the front part will outweigh, the spinning rod will behave unpredictably when casting (it can even fly away from the hands of a beginner), the wiring will become more complicated, and the working hand will get unreasonably tired.

Installing a heavier model is also irrational, since the tackle is overloaded, which upsets the balance and leads to a high consumption of the fisherman’s physical strength. It is best to stay at the lower limit of the weight specified in the recommendations of the rod manufacturer.

Bearings

The number of bearings directly affects the smooth running of the reel. Of course, while ensuring their proper quality. Typically, the greater the number of bearings, the more powerful and more expensive the reel (less backlash and longer service life). At the same time, each bearing is a plus to the mass, so often the desire to increase their number is not justified.

Usually the number of bearings is indicated by a combination of numbers (4+1, 5+1, and so on). The first number is the number of bearings in the reeling system, the second - in the line laying system. It has been proven that 3-5 bearings in the reel and one in the line laying mechanism are enough for comfortable fishing.

Reels with more than six bearings are intended primarily for trophy fishing with heavy spinning rods. They are expensive and weigh a fair amount, so a beginner definitely shouldn’t bother with a large number of bearings. And, again, a branded dive reel with four bearings will serve better and longer than a cheap Chinese one with twelve.

Gear ratio

This term refers to the number of spool revolutions per full rotation of the handle (indicated in the specifications as a proportion). The gear ratio is determined by the number and location of gears in the winding mechanism. According to this parameter, coils can be divided into:

  • power – 1:4.0-4.7 (for trophy fishing);
  • universal – 1:5.0-5.6 (maximum wide range of applications);
  • high-speed – from 1:5.7 (for light and ultralight).

The most popular spinning rods are the medium-light class. They are often chosen by beginners, and the above universal reels are designed for them.

Line laying machine

The outer part of the line guide consists of a bracket that locks and releases the mechanism, and a guide roller. Everything is clear with the roller: its task is to direct the line to the spool, which, in most cases, it successfully copes with. True, sometimes it begins to bite the fishing line due to wear or initially poor quality, which is already critical.

The bow (bracket) of the line guide ensures that the line reaches the roller and, if necessary, fixes it or releases it from the spool. When purchasing, check the smoothness of the bow (the slightest burr leads to premature wear of the line and problems when casting), as well as the correctness of its operation in the open and closed state.

As mentioned above, closed models, as a rule, have special triggers (triggers, buttons) that close or open the bow. This is understandable: in such designs, the bracket is hidden under the body.

Line laying mechanism

The line laying mechanism ensures that the spool moves back and forth when reeling in the line. Thanks to it, the turns are distributed evenly throughout the spool (cylindrically or in the shape of a truncated cone). Chaotic styling, typical of most cheap Chinese models, is a marker of low quality product.

At the moment, manufacturers equip spinning reels with two types of mechanisms: with a worm (“endless screw”) or a crank gear. They ensure the transmission of rotation of the handle to the rotor.

The worm gear has a simpler design, which is why it is used in most models in the low and mid-price segment. It ensures that the line is laid in uniform, successive turns.

The crank transmission has a more complex structure (several gears, a carriage, a rod that fixes the spool), but allows you to lay the fishing line more effectively, in a small cross (like on factory spools of thread). This style reduces the risk of beard formation to an absolute minimum.

Friction clutch

We approach the braking mechanism, which ensures that the fishing line is released when a certain force is applied (in accordance with the permitted load on the rod). The friction allows you to reduce the load on the rod and other equipment elements, which is especially important when fishing for large fish. It is equipped with a regulator that allows you to adjust the desired values. According to the rules, the clutch is adjusted using a load of a certain mass (we tighten it, hook the load, drag it, and gradually release the clutch until the line is released). However, experienced fishermen feel the equipment, so they allow themselves to adjust the clutch directly on the road, hooking the bait, for example, on a tree.

The friction mechanism can be located at the back or front of the reel. Reels with rear drag are chosen by spinners who specialize in trophy fishing. Although they are heavy, they are more reliable, which is important when fishing for large specimens.

The front clutch is more compact, lighter and more sensitive, but less reliable and durable. It is installed on the vast majority of universal inertialess drives.

Bayrunner

A baitrunner is a special mechanism that ensures instant loosening of the clutch and free flow of the fishing line. It makes it much easier to catch large specimens.

The presence of a bayrunner is typical mainly for power reels. In principle, they are more often chosen by carp fishermen, but adherents of trophy fishing with spinning rods sometimes buy such models.

The baitrunner, without going into details, is a complex mechanism that disables the clutch, which, when properly configured, allows even beginners to catch ten-kilogram specimens. The question is: how high is the probability of catching such a worthy trophy without targeted preparation and is it worth paying a significant amount for such an expensive model.

Lever

Manufacturers often make marketing mistakes by mentioning the ergonomic shape of the handle. In fact, the shape and size of everyone’s palms are different, so you need to focus only on your own ideas about ergonomics. Try rotating the handle and analyze your own sensations, taking into account the fact that when fishing you will have to do this for hours. Pay attention to the folding mechanism of the handle, test it for any unwanted play, and also check the possibility of rearranging it to the other side (if you are left-handed).

The handle can be attached using a screw, screw thread or rivet. The type of fixation is not particularly important, the main thing is that it is reliable and of high quality, because quite significant loads are placed on this element.

Other items

Other points to consider include:

  • Availability of a spare spool . Having a spare spool makes it easier to wind the line (more on that later). But the main advantage of the “reserve” is that you can wind a cord of a different diameter on it and change the spool if necessary, due to changes in fishing conditions. Experienced fishermen carry 2-3 spare spools with them.
  • Possibility of long casting . For long spinning rods intended for long casts, it is better to choose reels with the appropriate characteristics. Such models have an elongated spool, which reduces the number of wound layers and, consequently, the resistance to the line coming off when casting.
  • Zero backlash . This function, which protects the tackle from breakage when hooked by reducing the load, is currently available only in new and expensive models (labeled “Continuous anti-reverse”). When the stopper is turned on, the handle does not rotate backwards at all. By the way, in such models the gears are maximally protected from wear.
  • Anti-twist . The main problem with spinning reels is that when casting a spinning rod, the line flies off the spool in coils and becomes very twisted. This is at least partially solved by the Anti-Twist system (a special roller design), which reduces line twist by 20-40%.

Brands

Everyone knows the “Big Three” fishing reel manufacturers: Daiwa, Shimano and Mikado. Very good models can be found from Ryobi, Okuma and Kosadaka. As you can see, Japanese brands are a priority, but European and American manufacturers also have decent options.

By the way, every self-respecting brand offers both products in the mid-price category and flagship models costing hundreds of dollars. Of course, I would like to get something “like that,” but even with a free budget, purchasing an overly sophisticated reel can be considered an unjustified expense: a beginner simply will not be able to take advantage of all the options offered by the manufacturer. A reel for a beginning spinning player should be easy to use and reliable, the rest is all from the evil one.

In any case, ordering a coil from Ali is not the best solution. Yes, it is possible to purchase a branded model at a price lower than in the store. But if something happens, returns and claims will take an unreasonably long time, if they lead to the desired result at all.

Daiwa Freams reel

The Daiwa Freams reel is a mid-price reel from the world famous manufacturer Daiwa. Reels in this price category are usually purchased by advanced-level spinners who have been fishing for several years, but do not want to spend a large budget on purchasing a more expensive reel. For such anglers, this reel is an excellent choice.

At a fairly reasonable price, the reel has good performance parameters. Daiwa Freams reel: reliable in operation, has good strength, powerful, with careful handling and minimal maintenance it will serve you for many years.

In the range of standard sizes of this reel, you can choose a reel for both light spinning and twitching or jigging. Fishermen note this reel: light weight, good line laying, smooth and easy movement.

Ryobi Ecusima ($30-40)

Reels of this series can also be classified as budget, although in some characteristics they are not particularly inferior to more expensive products. All Ryobi Ecusima Vi reels boast a rotor lock when the arm is open and some elements (roller, spool side) are coated with titanium nitride. The body, rotor and spool are also metal. The friction brake with large washers allows for fine adjustment. Installed 4 ball bearings and 1 roller bearing. Gear ratio – 5.0. The sizes of the reels in this series are large - 3000 and 4000. The maximum pulling force is 5 kg.

Reel Daiwa Revros

Daiwa positions its Daiwa Revros reel as a reel in the lower segment of the middle class of spinning reels. The reel is well suited for fishing with light, light and ultra-light class baits. The main advantages of this reel: light weight, smooth running, good line winding.

We still do not recommend using this reel when fishing with a jerk line, as well as when fishing with a spinning rod with thin cords; for these fishing options it is better to use a reel of a higher level, which has better line laying and a longer resource. The Daiwa Revros series of reels includes reels of different sizes from 1000 to 4000, each angler will be able to choose the reel of the size he needs. You can read more about the Daiwa Revros reel in our review.

Multiplier reel for spinning rod

Multiplier reels are still not very common among our fishermen, although they are very popular abroad. The popularity of these reels is growing every year and more and more anglers are no longer avoiding them. Many spinning anglers, who pick them up for the first time and make a few casts, begin to understand that even a novice angler can handle such a reel.

Description of the design of multiplier reels

The multiplier reel is suitable for different types of fishing, with different bait weights, from the lightest to baits weighing more than 60 grams. The multiplier reel successfully combines all the advantages and disadvantages of inertial and inertia-free reels, although the design of such a reel is more complex.

The multiplier reel is a kind of modernized and improved version of the inertial reel, but in reality it is more like a compact winch. To make casting easier, there is a “trigger” located near the reel holder. Which in the lower position completely frees the spool. The reel is located close to the axis of the blank, so you can control the rotation of the spool with your finger, which allows you to make more accurate casts from different positions, avoiding tangling of the fishing line and the formation of a “beard”, plus it provides better tactile sensitivity through your fingers.

In the upper position of the “lever” the spool is clamped as much as possible, and in order for the clutch to work, effort must be made. In the middle position, the “lever” snaps into place. This zone is usually used at maximum loads on the tackle. Thus, by moving the lever, the angler will find his “golden mean” for himself.

It is better not to install a multiplier spinning reel on a regular spinning rod, it is not suitable for it, you need to purchase a casting spinning rod, it is better balanced, has the required handle length and a larger number of rings, and a reel seat that is convenient for the multiplier.

Before using the spinning reel, it is necessary to unscrew the spool and treat all elements with a napkin soaked in kerosene, thereby ridding it of excess lubricant. But in general, it is better to clean it after every fishing, this helps to increase its service life. The friction brake must be adjusted before use.

For beginning spinning anglers, in order to learn how to cast, it is still better to choose a more budget-friendly reel option. As a rule, these are low-profile reels; they are also called “soap boxes” in fishermen’s slang. But when choosing between a plastic and metal case, you should not save money and choose the second one, as it is more reliable. Low profile spinning reels have a long casting range for light lures, small diameter lines and thin braid.

Professional fishermen who practice power fishing use spinning reels with a high profile or simply a “barrel” for medium and large-sized baits. The weight of such a spinning reel can reach 1500g. They can be used for sea and trophy fishing, for trolling.

Advantages of baitcasting reels

The advantages of a multiplier reel are obvious:

  • Design reliability
  • High power, which is especially appreciated by sea fishing enthusiasts
  • Simplicity, compactness and absence of unnecessary parts
  • High sensitivity and control over the line during fishing
  • Ease of use

Disadvantages of baitcasting reels

Baiting reels also have their disadvantages, which are mainly encountered by novice fishermen:

  • A more complex casting technique that requires some experience and skill to do it right. Beginner fishermen especially often face this problem; they have to untangle more than one “beard” from the fishing line before mastering and practicing the correct casting technique.
  • The braking system of the multiplier reel must be adjusted each time to the conditions, type of fishing, and bait used; this requires some experience.
  • The price of a baitcasting reel is usually higher than that of a different type of reel.
  • A baitcasting reel requires a special rod, which you will have to purchase.
  • For different weights of baits, a reel of its own size is required, small reels are designed for a bait weight from 4 to 14 grams, medium-sized reels are designed for all baits up to 40 grams, heavy reels are designed for a bait weight of 60 grams or more. When buying a medium-sized universal baitcasting reel, you may have problems casting light-weight lures.

It is thanks to all these qualities and inexpensive price that it is so popular among spinning players, especially among beginners. For beginner spinners who are just taking their first steps in spinning and are not yet ready to spend large sums of money on more expensive gear, this reel is an excellent choice.

Okuma Inspira coil

The Taiwanese company Okuma is well known to our fishermen as a manufacturer of high-quality spinning reels. The company has its own production, its own design bureau, which carries out the development of fishing reels.

Okuma Inspira reels are characterized by reliability, quality, availability, and all this at very reasonable prices. The advantages of the reel include: light weight, compact size, nice design, stable, even cord winding, well-adjustable drag. The Okuma Inspira reel is a good choice for beginners and for those anglers who do not want to spend a lot of money on purchasing a reel, but still want to buy a quality item. You can read more about the Okuna Inspira reel in our review.

Kosadaka Blaze reel

The Kosadaka Blaze reel is a budget, economy class spinning reel. The reel does not have any specific bells and whistles; it is characterized by reliability and simplicity. Perfect for fishing with silicone baits, spinners or spoons. The reel is not very suitable for fishing with thin braided lines, or for jerking, as it is not very high quality, lays the line evenly and can drop loops from time to time.

The Kosadaka Blaze reel has a minimal cost, so this model can be recommended for beginner spinning anglers. Despite its price, the reel is quite reliable and can serve faithfully for several fishing seasons, and by then you will already want a more serious reel.

Best Jig Reels

Do you need equipment to catch predatory fish at depth? Choosing a reel for jig. The main focus should be on sensitivity. The multiplier model is considered the most susceptible when it comes to sharp fish. However, such parts belong to the category of inertia, which means they require some skill when casting.

If you don’t have experience yet, don’t give up what you love. Among the best jigging reels you can find many spinning models. They are easy to use, quite practical and suitable for almost all spinning rods.

It is customary to divide all models according to price and reliability:

  • Budget devices are manufactured mainly in Asian countries. These reels can be safely recommended to beginners. True, they will not last long;
  • Representatives of the middle class are of high quality and reliable, despite the fact that they do not hit the buyer’s pocket;
  • Some Japanese manufacturers offer the most modern and innovative technologies.
