Today's knot tensile tests were performed on: Mikado Eyes Blue Ice 0.16. Airflow - 120°C Konger Steelon Fluo 0.16 (0.19 real). Airflow – 120°C Silver Stream Zombi Monster Club 0.181. Airflow - 130°C Unused (new) Trabucco T-force Winter Ice Super Strong 0.165 (R$0.195). Airflow – 130°C
Summarizing the results of the experiments, I can confidently say that at an elementary knot, all three fishing lines break at a tension half (approximately) less than expected. When using the Clinch Knot, Knotless Knot and Palomar Knot - quite decent. So, for example, the Silver Stream Zombi line, when using my favorite Clinch Advanced knot, broke more than fifteen millimeters from the knot itself, and the Konger Steelon Fluo - ten.
A separate topic is Trabucco T-force. Since this fishing line was used in a completely new state for the purity of the experiment, it showed itself as follows. With a real diameter of 0.195 mm, the fishing line without thermal exposure showed excellent resistance to tearing, as well as breaking at all joints. After a thermal exposure of 140°C, the line began to behave frankly weakly at all three nodes, and the temperature of the air flow had to be reduced to 130°C. But. Even under these conditions, it seemed to me that the forest had lost its “strength of novelty.” At 120°C Trabucco behaved as if untouched.
Preliminary summary. The impact of heat treatment on used fishing lines is completely justified.
