Having left Pereslavl-Zalessky, we turned left to Nikitskaya Sloboda, passed the Nikitsky Monastery (noting to ourselves that we must definitely go into it) and immediately saw the huge Pleshcheyevo Lake stretching out in front of us. And from Alexandrova Mountain, which is located near the lake, the view is absolutely stunning...

You can climb the path in a few minutes. An Orthodox cross is installed on the top of Alexander Mountain.

The dimensions of the lake are approximately 6.5 by 9.5 kilometers. The lake has a regular oval shape and covers an area of more than 50 square meters. kilometers.

In addition to the lake, the National Park includes green forests, rich flora and fauna, many churches and attractions, key springs and springs with holy water... There are many animals, birds and insects on the territory, and the lake is home to about 20 species of fish.

Features of the lake

As is natural for a lake, it has an oval shape. It also has a good location - in the south of the Yaroslavl region. The distance between this point and Moscow is only 140 kilometers. The total area of the reservoir is approximately 50 square meters, while the length of the coastline is about 27 kilometers.

People also come to this place to swim. They can quickly make sure that the bottom of the lake is sloping; to get to a depth of about 1 meter, they need to walk about five minutes from the shore. The deepest point in the reservoir is 25 meters.

The lake has been melting for a long time. Only in May does the ice completely disappear from its surface.

There are some restrictions on the territory of the reserve.

For a long period of the winter season, namely from November 15 to January 10, fishing in the reserve is prohibited. The reason for this phenomenon is spawning.

However, every year there are more and more fishermen who violate these rules. If they are discovered by law enforcement agencies, they are recognized as poachers and a fine is imposed on them. The rest of the time, fishing is allowed.

However, there are some peculiarities of winter fishing on Lake Pleshcheyevo:

The ice on the reservoir is very fragile, so you can walk on it with the utmost caution;
The largest fish is located in the western part of the lake , approximately at a distance of 500 meters to 3 kilometers from the shore. This place was discovered by local fishermen, who for several years in a row have been content with a large catch. The reason for this phenomenon is that this is where the deepest furrow is located;
It is recommended to fish with bait such as bread, worms, bloodworms, perch eye or whitebait;
