Recreation and fishing in Yeisk - the best places and fishing features

Fishing on the Yeisk Estuary

This body of water is well known not only to local fishermen, but also to fishing enthusiasts from many regions of Russia and even abroad.
It is a small shallow bay of the Sea of Azov, located in its northeast and belongs geographically to the North Caucasus. The estuary appeared on the map relatively recently, after the Yeya River at the mouth of the Yeya and Glafirovskaya sand spits was blocked. Today the reservoir is connected to the Sea of Azov through the Taganrog Bay, with which it has a common channel.

The Yeisk estuary has an elongated shape in the east-west direction with a length of 24 km and a width of 13 km. Its greatest depths do not exceed 3 m. The bottom of the reservoir is covered with silt; it is almost flat, without sharp breaks, protrusions or depressions.

The reservoir is well protected from the winds; its western and eastern banks are gentle and even, sandy; they are ideal for fishing. From the north and south the banks are steeper and made of loam. Among the most popular fishing spots are the areas near the settlements of Glafirovka, Nikolaevka, Aleksandrovka. For those who want to fish alone, you can go to the islands that are in the estuary. The largest of them are the Green Islands.

Fishing in the estuary is limited by law. Amateur fishermen can only use spinning rods and float rods. In spring there is a complete ban on fishing. The dates of the latter change, therefore, if you want to go fishing in a reservoir, you need to find out about them.

The water in the estuary has a low concentration of salt, which allows sea and freshwater fish to feel good in it. Fishing on the reservoir is possible almost all year round, although in the summer it is very hampered by vacationers. Having visited the Yeisk Estuary, you can go fishing for sabrefish, ram, pike perch, sea gobies, carp, crucian carp, pike, pelengas, perch, bream, sturgeon, beluga, herring and stellate sturgeon.

Sea fishing

Sea fishing is one of the most popular types of fishing in the city of Yeysk, usually carried out in the following places:

  1. Yeisk estuary of the Azov Sea.
  2. Taganrog Bay.

Fans of sea fishing are recommended to fish in the Yeisk Estuary. It is partially desalinated by water from nearby rivers, for this reason it is home to a large variety of fish.

Below we will discuss the features of catching the most popular prey:

Beluga. This fish belongs to the sturgeon family and has very tasty meat, so it is the main target of many local fishermen. It is necessary to look for it in the deepest places with rapid currents, where this fish likes to look for food.

Beluga is distinguished by its considerable strength, so it is best to choose a strong feeder as a tackle, which, among other things, allows for spot feeding. It is necessary to equip the rod with a large reel with a baitrunner, and use thick braid as a fishing line. The ideal bait is peeled shrimp or toothless tongues.

Beluga

Asp. It is the only predator from the carp family, but despite this fact, it is a very cautious fish. The only effective bait is animal food - chafers, dragonflies, small fish, worms, grasshoppers. However, you can try spinning fishing using castmasters or surface varieties of wobblers.

Asp

Pelengas. This fish is one of the most desired species of prey for all sea fishermen. Fishing is effective over a fairly short period: from late March to mid-June. For this, a surf or carp spinning rod is suitable, capable of casting 150-200 meters; the tackle must be equipped with a powerful sea reel.

It is also possible to use a float rod with small hooks and thin line. The best bait is Nereis, which lives in the estuary mud.

Pelengas

Who is caught when in the Yeisk Estuary

Almost all fish living in the reservoir are seasonal. It is better to come here for ram and pike perch in the fall, and for goby in the spring. A good bait for ramming is a worm; it bites on cake and semolina. Pike perch are caught mainly with live bait; bull - into pieces of meat, chicken, the bull itself, worms.

To catch pelengas and carp, you need to know their favorite places to stay. In addition, the bite is greatly influenced by local conditions, in particular, the presence of oxygen in the water and its temperature. Pelengas are caught using worms, carp - using makushatniks.

Many people fish in the estuary areas of the Eya and Yasen rivers, which flow into the estuary. The catch here almost always consists of silver bream, roach and bersh. Baits - worm, maggot, steamed grains, semolina.

Paid fishing

There are plenty of places for comfortable fishing in the Krasnodar region. Paid services are varied and accessible. Among other things, paid fishing is also a guarantee of biting and catching trophy specimens.

Throughout the year you can fish on the Azov coast near the Teryuchanka base. Visitors are offered comfortable rooms with up to 5 beds and self-cooking. You can rent any watercraft, rowing boat.

You can fish on the paid pond “Pariev Stavok”, stay in a cottage with 1-2 bed rooms. The cost of living per day is 1000 rubles. A sauna and swimming pool are provided. At Vasyurinsky ponds you can fish for pike perch, roach, bream, crucian carp, grass carp, carp, and carp. The territory is equipped with canopies, parking, and barbecues.

Durso base near Novorossiysk. Fishing is always productive, an amazing vacation is guaranteed. Visitors can stay in tents and fishing houses. Services: parking, rangers, boats, gear for rent. Mostly at the base they fish with a float rod.

Silver carp, carp, carp, grass carp, and pike perch are found on the Silver Stocked Pond. Boats are available for rent, and you can cook fish right on the pond.

The pond near the sports base "Plastuny" is stocked with koi, carp, carp, silver carp, catfish, bream, roach, and crucian carp. You can fish from the shore from a boat or on a catamaran.

The Stepnoy Reservoir offers visitors fishing for carp, perch, catfish, ruffe, silver carp, and crayfish. Special bridges are equipped. For accommodation, fishing houses, a Russian bathhouse and even hunting for foxes, quails, jackals, hares, and pheasants are provided.

Every year in the Krasnodar region the “Krasnodar fishing exhibition” is held with a display of navigation aids, fishing gear, and fisherman’s equipment. Anyone can purchase unique goods for hunting and fishing, win prizes, for example, a 2-seater boat with a motor, tackle, fishing rods, and other valuable prizes. Fishing in Krasnodar is always exciting, exciting and successful.

Fishing bases of the Krasnodar region

Fishing bases are located throughout the Krasnodar region. Of course, each of them undoubtedly has its advantages and small disadvantages. Some places are easier to get to, and some places have lower prices. The level of service and comfort of places to stay are also important. There are fishing bases where you can come only for a day. And there are also holiday homes where you can go with your family. In addition to active fishing, here you can spend time on sports grounds, take a steam bath, sit and have dinner with your family and close friends in the gazebo. But all paid fishing reservoirs and the bases located on them have one thing in common - rental of high-quality gear and equipped places for fishing.

Fishing in winter

Winter in the estuary area is short and warm. Snow does not last more than a couple of weeks, and temperatures very rarely drop below -5°C. Despite this, the reservoir is almost always covered with ice, which pleases ice fishing lovers.

Winter fishing on the Yeisk Estuary is significant due to the presence in the reservoir during this period of a large number of rams that come here to spawn. Usually the fish are 15...30 centimeters long and almost immediately rush to the hook, lowered into the water through the hole. But there is a restriction on catching rams - you cannot take fish whose length is less than 16 cm.

They catch rams not near the shore, at a distance of 2…3 km from it. There are a lot of fishermen in winter, so you should come to the reservoir early. And be sure to wear waterproof shoes, because there is always water on the ice.

In winter, weather conditions within the estuary can change dramatically. In order not to depend on them, it is better to take a tent with you, in which all this will not matter. Due to frequent fogs over the reservoir, it is good to have a compass and navigator with you, which will help you navigate the area.

They catch rams using cake and red-tinted semolina. Bloodworms, worms and maggots are completely ignored by the fish. No bait is used at all.

Fishing on rivers and lakes

Fishing on rivers and lakes is another common way of fishing in the vicinity of Yeysk; below we will consider the most successful places for this:

  1. Yaseni is the most striking example of a typical Kuban river with a slight current and without any significant tributaries. From Yeisk it can be reached by road. An additional advantage is the fact that some dams are specially adapted for breeding and feeding prey. Carp, crucian carp, pike, bream, silver bream, bersh and other fish are often found in the river. Of the artificially neglected species, grass carp and pelengas can be distinguished.
  2. Chelbas is the second longest local river, the largest tributary is Chelbaska, which is more than 70 km long, and there are also two estuaries - Gorky and Sladky. It is worth noting that the banks here are impassable, and the river itself is a place intended for fairly experienced fishermen. Its waters are home to rudd and perch, an excellent food source for predatory species, primarily pike, for which most fishermen come here.
  3. The Eya River is the longest in these parts, flowing through the Krasnodar Territory and the Rostov Region. The flow in it is quite calm; at its beginning it has a meandering shape, which contributed to the formation of a large number of estuaries and reaches. Of particular note is the lake called Kiyashkin Estuary, which is a natural habitat for pike, carp, perch, tench and other fish. Also, during the spawning period, pike perch and ram swim there. A large number of tributaries provide fishermen with a significant number of convenient places that can be used to catch a variety of prey.

When sending to other rivers or reservoirs in the Yeisk region, you must first collect information about their inhabitants. This is due to the presence of a number of reservoirs in which fish are completely absent, for example, Lake Khanskoye.

Now we will consider the features of catching some of the most common inhabitants of these rivers and lakes, taking into account seasonal changes in their behavior:

Carp. You can catch it from spring to autumn. The most recommended period is the early spring months, when it wakes up after a long winter hibernation and feels hungry; at this time, prey bites equally well on both plant and animal bait.

In the summer, for a successful catch, additional feeding is required, since the fish bite reluctantly, but in the fall the active bite resumes, as the carp tries to accumulate excess fat before the winter cold. It is best to catch it on a feeder, since it allows for targeted feeding.

Carp

Crucian carp. It is a very unpretentious fish, so its abundance in local rivers is not surprising. You can fish using a variety of methods, but the simplest is to use the most ordinary float fishing rod; both the fly and mast varieties are suitable.

You can use bloodworms, worms or maggots as bait. You can also try to catch crucian carp using dough; bait with pea, wheat or corn additives will be especially effective.

crucian carp

Breams and breams. In fact, it is an all-season type of prey: you can start fishing in the spring, and it is at this time that there is the greatest probability of catching trophy specimens; in the summer there may be a decrease in the bite, but by September it resumes and continues until mid-October or early November, depending on weather conditions.

It is also recommended to choose bait depending on the season: in the spring worms or insect larvae are suitable, in the summer the diet is based on plant foods, and in the fall the bream again prefers worms and inhabitants of the river bottom.

In winter, prey becomes active if meltwater gets under the ice; during this period, fishing with bloodworms is most effective. To get a large catch, it is recommended to feed the area with plant food for several days. If fishing is carried out from the side of a vessel, then the use of an echo sounder is mandatory.

Breams and breams

Pike. This predator is very good to catch in the spring: the fish bites equally successfully on both live prey attached to a hook and artificial bait launched using a spinning rod. In summer, pike is characterized by an increased degree of capriciousness; it is recommended that only experienced fishermen fish during this period; beginners have virtually no chance of catching.

The intensification of the bite occurs in the fall, shortly before freeze-up, since at this time the predator stores up fat before the cold winter; it is best to fish at this time only with a spinning rod. In the winter months, other fish are used as bait - crucian carp, perch, gudgeon and others.

Pike

Som. The process of catching it will be more complicated, since you will initially need to find the deepest places at the bottom of the reservoir, for this you need to use an echo sounder. Catfish are omnivorous predators, so choosing bait is not a problem. Suitable worms, leeches, mole crickets, locusts or fish whose weight does not exceed 0.3 kg.

The process of complementary feeding is much more complicated; one of the most effective methods is the use of turf with worms. Crawling prey can rivet the catfish's attention to the fishing spot for a long time. Fishing itself also involves a wide range of methods: you can catch catfish from a boat using quok or trolling with wobblers; if you don’t have a vessel, you can use a shore bottom or spinning rod with jig baits.

Fishing on the Krasnodar estuaries

There are many estuaries in Kuban that can give fishermen a good catch. Almost the entire coast of the Azov Sea on Temryuk-Primorsko-Akhtarsk consists of such reservoirs. The area around them is impassable, there are no roads or communications.

Most of the Krasnodar estuaries are shallow, their average depths are 0.5...2.5 m. All existing reservoirs are divided into 3 large groups:

  • Akhtarsko-Grivensky, located north of the Protoka River;
  • Central - located between Protoka and Kuban;
  • Zakubanskie, Akhtanizovskie: these estuaries are located south of Kuban.

The largest in area among the Krasnodar estuaries are Durnoy, Sladky, Gluboky, Dolgy, and Vostochny. In addition to those mentioned, they fish on the Akhtanizovsky, Akhtarsky, Beysugsky, Bugazsky, Vityazevsky, Voyskovy, Gorky, Kiziltashsky, Kirpilsky, Kurchansky, Lebyazhy and many other estuaries. All of them “communicate” with each other through existing narrow channels, girts, eriks, artificial canals and are covered for the most part with different plants, including reeds, sedges, cattails, reeds, white and yellow water lilies, arrowheads, telores, chilim, or water chestnuts .

The Krasnodar estuaries are home to 114 different species of fish. People come here to hunt pike, pike perch, asp, sterlet, beluga, perch, catfish, tench, sprat, anchovy, bull, bream, carp, carp, and silver carp. Most anglers fish with spinning rods and float rods, following the rule - no more than 10 hooks per person.

You can fish on the Krasnodar estuaries all year round, with the exception of the spring ban, which usually occurs in the period March-May. In addition, the law prohibits the fishing of sturgeon, lamprey, Black Sea salmon, shemai, croaker, gurnard, kutum carp, oysters, Black Sea crabs, and pearl mussels.

When fishing on the Krasnodar estuaries, there are restrictions on the size of the fish caught that you can take with you. For example, for pike perch it is 38 cm or more, for catfish - 60 cm, for carp - 30 cm, for carp - 24 cm, for ram - 16 cm, for goby - 10 cm, for perch - beyond 15 cm, for pelengas - 38 cm, for tench - 17 cm, for crayfish - 9 cm, etc.

Catching predators with spinning rods on the Krasnodar estuaries is carried out with all baits known to anglers. Poppers are popular in very shallow areas. Cake, worms, semolina, and maggots are put on the hook of float gear. For each type of fish you need to try and find the most suitable one for specific fishing conditions.

Akhtanizovsky Estuary: in the region of the Lotus Valley, good fishing and surfing

The Akhtanizovsky Estuary is one of the ideal corners for relaxation in the Krasnodar Territory, and it doesn’t matter what the pastime is - it is diverse, educational and interesting as much as everyone wants and what they are looking for. Some reviews say that staying here is limited to swimming, sunbathing and visiting the Lotus Valley and also fishing, but this is not for everyone, otherwise there is nothing else to do, they say, melancholy and boredom.

Yes, there are no luxury hotels, aquariums and water parks, noisy parties on the beach, but there is much more - beautiful, picturesque nature, not disgraced by human activity, quiet, calm beaches, clean air and the hot southern sun. For lovers of active and extreme leisure, such as surfing, there is no better place to find either on the Azov Sea or on the Black Sea, but the main thing that the Akhtanizovsky Estuary is famous for is fishing, which you will not find anywhere else.

Where is the Akhtanizovsky Estuary on the map?

Geographically, this is the northeast of the Taman Peninsula. On the shores of this lake there are the following settlements: the village of Akhtanizovskaya, Za Rodinu, Peresyp, Golubitskaya and Temryuk. Nearby you can also find the Khimka flood plains (in the west) and the Kutepov estuary (in the north).

History of creation and geography

Of course, the estuary is not man-made, but almost 200 years ago it was completely different, it was a closed, drainless reservoir containing a high concentration of salt, in all characteristics reminiscent of the current Lake Sivash in Crimea.

It was connected only with the Azov region through the narrow Peresyp branch, which saturates it with salty sea water, making it the Krasnodar Dead Sea.

Wanting to somehow change the situation, the Cossacks from the villages of Temryukskaya and Starotitarovskaya, located on the estuary banks, in dire need of fresh liquid, decided at the beginning of the 19th century to undertake an unprecedented task - laying a canal to the mouth of the Kuban.

Work began in 1819 and lasted for two decades, but the goal was achieved, however, through titanic efforts. Yes, it seems unthinkable, people who understood little about this, without experienced leadership and the necessary tools, accomplished an unprecedented feat of labor.

And to better understand what he expressed himself in, it will be enough to look at the Kazachiy Erik river - it is the canal that connected the Akhtanizovsky estuary with the greatest river of the Krasnodar region. Only primitive equipment such as picks and shovels were used in construction.

The removed soil was taken out on horseback and dumped in the floodplains - and so on year after year.

The laying of the mini-canal ended with the triumph of human genius in the early 40s. XIX century. An impressive ditch, reaching a depth of 20 m, stretching for 32 km, connected the estuary with the river, which desalinated it. But there was another side to the coin that is often forgotten.

The Kuban by that time flowed into the Black Sea, but after uncontrolled intervention in the river ecosystem, its water rushed in a frantic stream into the dug canal, eroding the bank and expanding the channel, after which it changed the direction of the flow, turned towards the Azov coast, forming a new delta.

How to get there (get there)?

To get to the Akhtanizovsky Estuary from Anapa, Sochi or Krasnodar, you will need any city transport going to Temryuk. You will have to get from the latter to the partially man-made lake either on foot or by hitchhiking.

By car you can get almost to the very shore, here is the route for self-driving by car from Anapa:

Note to tourists

  • Address: Temryuk district, Krasnodar region, Russia.
  • GPS coordinates: 45.284695, 37.153646.

To summarize, we can only add one thing - whatever the purpose of visiting the Akhtanizovsky Estuary, it will certainly be justified.

The main thing is not to look for something out of the ordinary here and to gratefully accept what this amazing attraction generously offers! In conclusion, we offer a video about how to fish here, enjoy watching!

Fishing on the Khadzhibey Estuary

This is the famous Odessa estuary, about 7 km from Odessa to the east. The reservoir is long (31...33 km) and narrow (width 0.5...3.5 km), with a maximum depth of 2.5 m, with low salinity of water. It is separated from the sea by a 5 km wide embankment of sand and shell rock and has no direct access to the sea. At the bottom of the estuary there is a layer of mud, which is considered medicinal by specialists, which led to the emergence of many recreation centers and sanatoriums on the banks of the reservoir.

Fishermen, going fishing in the Khadzhibey Estuary, hope to catch perch, pike perch, carp, crucian carp, pelengas, and goby. Their catch can be diversified by Black Sea shrimp and mussels.

There are many places where you can go fishing on the estuary. Some of them: the dam area near the settlement of Usatovo, the second pier in Natti, near the bridge along which the Kiev highway passes - “at Chaika”. In these places the catch is usually pelengas, pike perch, and carp. Fishing here is paid, although they charge little money - until recently only 5 UAH.

They go out for carp with spinning rods in the early morning or evening, equipped with “harvesters”; Hominy is used for bait. They also use bread crumbs, corn, and boiled pearl barley, but local carp treat such baits with disdain and bite less often.

They throw the gear away. When fishing, there are often mishaps due to the abundance of stones closer to the shore, which the carp can take advantage of.

Carp should be caught further from the shore. It is in such places that kilogram predators can be caught. They fish with spinning rods, using silicone as bait; By autumn, pike perch begins to respond well to small winter spinners and bull bait.

Many fishermen on the Khadzhibey Estuary specialize in catching pelengas. They use bottom gear complete with spinning rods and use elastic bands. They fish from the shore, from a boat. The bait is a hairy worm, which is sold in Usatovo right next to the dam.

The crucian carp bites well in the reservoir, although in those places that are pre-fed with poppy grass. It is caught on maggots and takes worms well. You can also catch grass carp in the estuary. But to do this, you need to climb further to the center of the reservoir and use wheat, which must be steamed.

Reviews about fishing

In some cases, it is important to find out the opinions of people who have already visited Yeysk and share their opinions and advice on fishing in these places:

Alexander: “I visited Yeysk with friends at the end of August. Initially we planned only sea fishing, but on the advice of local residents we went to a river 10 kilometers from the city. Fishermen there catch pike with ordinary float rods with a tee, we tried it with a spinning rod. Small pike bite well on any wobblers, but I caught large specimens only with live bait. The bite was such that we reached the sea only a week later. The only negative is the heavily overgrown banks, which complicate the process of fishing for prey.”

Vladimir: “This is the second time I’ve visited Dolzhanskaya, the last time was in August, this year in July. This time I tried fishing with a boat that I rented from the private sector. Very good ram bite on regular store-bought corn from cans, fish weighing up to 300-400 grams. bites constantly. In the morning and evening I tried to fish with maggots, and came across a shemai. The only thing is that you should always check the bottom surface with a fishing rod, it is important that there is silt there, otherwise there will be no bite. As complementary food I used cake mixed with rolled oats and diluted with water. I threw balls into the water, approximately equal in size to a chicken egg, and the fish followed its scent perfectly.”

Sergey: “Every year I go to these regions for spring, summer, and sometimes autumn fishing. This year we fished in the sea, for the first time we managed to catch a pelengas, a very whimsical catch. Locals sometimes manage to catch it using ordinary foam balls, which are tinted red. I tried many baits, only the cockchafer worked. In the spring it was always good to catch gobies here; very large specimens come in cold water, and they are also very hungry after winter. In the summer we even managed to catch a couple with our hands under the stones. Every year in the fall there are successful catches of rams that bite on dung worms. There are many farms around, so there is no shortage of this bait here. You can recruit both for fishing and for feeding.”

Fishing on the Azov estuaries

The estuaries of this warm sea are known for their fish stocks in various regions of Russia, Ukraine and other countries. In addition to fishing on the reservoirs, you can have a great rest, admire the beautiful nature, excellent landscape, enjoy the favorable climate and excellent infrastructure on their shores.

They swim closer to the floodplains, where schools of a wide variety of fish are guaranteed to stand in the windows. Those who don’t have a boat don’t need to be too upset either - you can find a suitable place on the shore from which you can catch enough fish for fish soup.

They fish in the Azov estuaries with spinning rods, bottom gear and float rods. Spinning rods are used to catch perch, rudd, and pike using different baits. Rudds, carp, catfish, tenches, perches, and crucian carp go on a float with a hook baited with a worm, maggot, semolina, steamed grains, and hominy. If you go hunting for pike perch, catfish, asp, sterlet, then you should try both a spinning rod and a float rod.

Such conditions allow for a rich variety of underwater inhabitants. Both sea and river fish live in estuaries.

Fishing on the estuaries of the Sea of Azov is more effective when using a boat than coastal fishing. This allows you to get to the thickets where schools of fish prefer to be. With us you can rent a motor boat and enjoy fishing right in the middle of the estuary or near hard-to-reach fishing spots that our rangers know.

In addition to the river located on the territory, we provide the opportunity to use any estuary or tributary, as well as the seashore itself for fishing.

Fishing in the Sea of Azov from the shore is an easy way to get positive emotions from a wonderful catch.

Due to the fact that the flora of the Azov Sea is populated by countless green and red algae growing in close proximity to the shore, the main species of fish reproduce favorably in the sea waters all year round.

The estuaries and tributaries of the sea are rich in pike perch, sturgeon, and herring. The sea itself produces even more fish, so there is no point in worrying about a bad catch. It all depends only on your abilities and gear. Our huntsman can improve his ability to catch more.

An experienced fisherman will tell you how and where it is best to fish on the shores of the Azov Sea, suggest certain gear and bait for a certain species, and for experienced fishermen we can provide professional equipment for rent, which you cannot afford yet.

Extreme fishing on the Sea of Azov from a boat, with escort

The effectiveness of fishing increases significantly if you fish at great depths. Different types of fish are found on different water levels. And if you adjust the depth, you can catch a variety of individuals. This can be accomplished only by having water transport.

Fishing in the Sea of Azov from a boat is the most common way to have a good catch.

Bottom sea fishing allows you to increase the variety of fish caught with minimal equipment costs, because you can use any type of fishing rod.

Having settled in a place convenient for you, you need to secure the vessel in place and start fishing. You don't have to cast your hook far, the fish itself swims right under the boat.

We provide several types of motor boats for rent. Constant maintenance of equipment makes it possible to have a reliable vessel for fishing all year round. We have taken care of convenient access to the shore.

If you do not know how to drive a boat, you can use the services of our huntsman, who will not only provide you with comfortable conditions for fishing, but will also show you the best “fishing” places right on the open sea.

He will also keep you company and help with practical advice.

Fishing from a boat is possible not only at sea. A huge number of tributaries and estuaries have places that are difficult to access and densely thicketed, where certain species of fish are found.

For example, a very popular goby is found in the coastal areas of rivers, which are very overgrown with grass. There is a huge amount of edible food there, so the gobies try not to leave these places.

Sometimes access to such places can be difficult from the shore, so you need to swim to it from the river.

Fishing on the Azov Sea from a boat will allow you to show off your catch, and our comfortable conditions will allow you to enjoy this event in any weather, regardless of the season.

On our website, every angler can always show off his catch in a special section.

Fishing spots in the Krasnodar region

The greatest attention of fishermen is attracted by the Azov floodplains - systems of small lakes connected to each other by various channels and canals. Large rivers and their tributaries are of constant interest to fishermen. Flowing into the Sea of Azov, the rivers form estuaries - a real paradise for a fisherman.

Kuban River

The source of the river is in the foothills of Elbrus. In the flat part it is navigable. It flows into the Sea of Azov near the city of Temryuk, forming a vast delta in which a reserve is formed. The delta has many excellent fishing spots. In spring and autumn, schools of anadromous and semi-anadromous fish enter the river. There are more than 100 species of fish in the river. Excellent food supply and lack of regulation create conditions for the presence of a large number of trophy specimens in the river. There are several fishing bases on the river where you can rent a boat.

During the season, fish literally fills the river - in a couple of hours you can catch up to a bucket of fish. The greatest fishing pressure is during the spring run of crucian carp.

Fishing on the Azov estuaries

Fishing on the Azov estuaries
The most popular places for fishing in the Krasnodar Territory are estuaries. The Azov floodplains are a system of shallow lakes, replete with aquatic vegetation, interconnected by channels and artificially created “passages”. As a rule, estuaries are relatively small and shallow water areas. Their depth ranges from 0.5 to two and a half meters. There are more than three hundred estuaries in the Krasnodar region. They start from the territory of Temryuk and stretch straight to Primorsk-Akhtarsk. Most of the floodplains are located in the delta of the Kuban River, and small lakes, floodplains and estuaries form the coastal part of the Sea of Azov. The water in the estuaries will be predominantly fresh or slightly brackish. The estuary waters contain large amounts of salts and hydrogen sulfide.

The most popular estuaries are: Bugazsky estuary, Vityazevsky, Akhtarsky estuaries, Sladky, Gorky, Yeisk, Beysugsky, Voyskovoy, Akhtanizovsky estuaries, as well as Kurchansky estuary, Kirpilsky estuary, Lebyazhiy estuary, Azov-Kuban estuaries, Trans-Kuban and Black Sea-Azov - Kiziltash estuaries and so on. They hunt in estuaries most often for pike. In addition to fish, you can also fish for crayfish here.

Fishing on estuaries is prohibited from the first of March to the thirty-first of May. Here you cannot hunt sturgeon, it is forbidden to catch Black Sea salmon and croaker, you cannot hunt shemaya, gurnard, kutum carp, and it is strictly forbidden to catch lampreys, oysters, Black Sea crabs and pearl mussels. Thus, anglers who want to hunt in the Krasnodar Territory have to put up with this impressive list of fishing prohibitions.

The fishing location should be chosen based on the direction of the winds. Good bait is also important for successful fishing. It is best to fish on estuaries and floodplains in a strong wind, which will connect the channels with each other.

When it comes to fishing gear on floodplains and estuaries, a spinning rod and a regular float rod are well suited. Fishing with nets and traps is prohibited here (except perhaps only for crayfish), the use of explosives and toxic substances, narcotic and poisonous substances is prohibited, electric current, firearms and pneumatics, fishing gear with hooks and hooks of more than ten pieces, traps, and piercing fishing tools are prohibited.

Sea fishing

Sea fishing in the Krasnodar Territory
The sea waters are home to sea ruffe and sea bass, mackerel and goby, and in the fall you may be lucky enough to catch real flounder in the seas. They give pleasure not only to the process of fishing, but also to the varied landscape of the sea coast, which stretches from the Azov steppe to the Sochi mountain landscapes. Anglers from all over the country come here to fish. Only here you can understand all the intricacies of fishing in the sea.

Today, the resorts of the Black Sea and Azov regions are equipped with everything necessary, and many paid services have appeared. A transport network has been established to transport people from the city to the sea and back. An exciting journey is guaranteed to everyone. Experienced instructors will tell you where to choose a good place for fishing, tell you about all the features of fishing with rods or spinning rods, and take you on boats to any body of water, and even to the Taman Peninsula, the beautiful bays of which are replete with toothy predators and linen. The bases have smokehouses, barbecues, and refrigerators. You can cook fish right there and relax with friends and families.

Fishing on ponds and lakes with spinning rods

Avid fishermen have chosen ponds in the Krasnodar region. You can catch decent pike on overgrown lakes using a spinning rod. Pike are found right in the center of Lake Kuban at shallow depths. Catching the predator is successful in the spring, after its spawning. Large trophies are caught using various baits. Pike bite better in the rain. Lures, live bait, rippers, homemade baits, and twisters are suitable for fishing.

Among the algae and reeds on the lakes there is pike perch. Fishing is successful in the fall, when the fish tries to gain weight before wintering. They catch pike perch using a spinning rod; the bait can be almost anything. But the wiring should be smooth and slow. Pike perch is a predator and does not like them to move quickly.

Fishing in Krasnodar for asps is exciting, but long casts are required and right on target. It is convenient to place the fishing rod on a thin braided cord, so the cast will be further; the presence of a leash is not necessary.
