How to catch and what to cook from red sea bass?

It is a little similar to its river counterpart, but due to the different structure of the internal organs it belongs to different biological orders. Looking at photos of sea bass you can see how beautifully colored they are; pink, red green, plain or covered with spots or stripes.

When rising to the surface with a difference in pressure, the eyes protrude. The body is protected by powerful scales. The rays of the dorsal fin secrete caustic mucus, so pricking them causes inflammation.

Habitat

The places where sea bass are found are varied. Different individuals have mastered the water surface from the tidal zone to 3 kilometers.

Inhabits the northern part of the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic, and is also found on the Black Sea coast. Most often, red snapper is present in the catches.

Gear used

For sea fishing, gear must meet a number of requirements:

  1. Be strong and durable enough.
  2. Easy to cast over long distances.
  3. Withstand strong water fluctuations.
  4. Be resistant to gusts of wind.

The most popular and effective gear for fishing from the shore on the Black Sea are rightfully considered:

Spinning

Mainly used when sharp cutting is required. It must be at least three meters long and extremely resistant to corrosion.

Spinning

It is used primarily for catching species such as:

  1. Bychkov.
  2. Sea bass.
  3. Karasei.
  4. Tuntsov.
  5. Gorbyley.
  6. Pelamids.
  7. Hamsa.
  8. Mackerel.
  9. Eel.

Note: croakers weighing five kilograms are often caught.

You can fish with a spinning rod from the pier and in those places that are as far away from the beach as possible, most importantly, where the bottom is rocky or pebbly. In addition, spinning rods are also suitable for fishing from rocks.

Bottom tackle

Ideal for catching relatively small or even small fish. The main thing to remember is that the smaller the specimen, the lighter the rod should be used and, accordingly, vice versa.

Donka

As a rule, fishing is done with such gear:

  1. Crucian carp.
  2. Eel.
  3. Flounders.
  4. Sea bass.
  5. Gorbylya.
  6. Red mullets.

Donka can be used everywhere, but it is more effective in a calm place, as well as in shallow water. The gear is especially suitable for non-professional fisherman.

Telescopic rod

Designed for long casting. This type of gear is used to fish:

  1. Sea bass.
  2. Pelamida.
  3. Herring.
  4. Beluga.
  5. Khamsu.
  6. Tuna.

Rod

It should be used in remote places, as well as when fishing from rocks.

Float rod

Suitable for medium-sized individuals. Note: the main thing for such tackle is the competent selection of hooks and fishing line.

You can catch:

  1. Bull.
  2. Eel.
  3. Pelamida.
  4. Horse mackerel.
  5. Crucian carp.
  6. Garfish.
  7. Perch.

A suitable place for a float rod is considered to be fishing from a pier, as well as a place where the bottom is muddy or sandy, and the average depth reaches up to two meters.

Petty tyrant

It is a fishing rod with a rigid reel; it can be homemade or purchased. It is not used so often for fishing from the shore, however, it can successfully catch some types of fish, especially:

  1. Bull.
  2. Eel.
  3. Herring.
  4. Khamsu.
  5. Sea crucian carp.

Man

What do they bite on?

Takes boiled shrimp, mussel meat and other seafood.

You can also cut beef spleen into pieces and heavily salt it; rinse before use. Chicken breast cut into small squares is also suitable.

Fishing on Sakhalin

Local fishermen claim that in these parts the perch is very voracious. As a rule, bamboo rods are used. He loves rocky spaces with thickets of algae.

You must have shoes that do not slip on wet stones. He is leisurely, the bait must rest, and then the bite begins.

You must pull immediately, or she will swallow the hook deeply and it will be difficult to remove it. Catching an individual is exciting, especially large specimens.

Fishing on the Black Sea

Near the shore they fish with float rods, from piers or coastal rocks.

It is carried out at a depth of 3-4 meters, preferably in good weather, in order to visually control the bite. They hook at the moment when the float completely disappears downwards.

Main fishing spots

On the Black Sea you can fish in different places, which have their own characteristics and differences.

Fishing from the shore

  1. Suitable for beginners or experienced anglers.
  2. Makes it possible to use almost any gear, including those made independently.
  3. An individual of any size can be caught, even quite large ones.
  4. All kinds of baits are suitable.
  5. You can fish in more remote places and vice versa.

Important advice: to fish for large fish, you should give preference to a telescopic rod (more than seven to eight meters in length).

Fishing from the rocks

Note: this type of fishing is called rock fishing.

  1. Fishing is classified as extreme.
  2. Suitable only for people who have a number of skills and are professionals in this matter.
  3. You need to fish from high and steep rocks.
  4. Telescopic tackle should be used.

Important advice: the main thing is that the weight of the rod is no less than two hundred grams.

From the shore at the moment of surf

  1. Fishing is only possible when there is a strong wind, ideally a storm.
  2. You need to cast as far as possible, at least ten meters.
  3. Predatory species can be successfully caught because a large number of shellfish, worms and other things are thrown into the surf, which attract their attention.

From the pier

  1. Fishing is carried out near the beach.
  2. Ideal for non-professionals.
  3. Often crowded, especially during high season.
  4. Mostly small fish are caught.
  5. Spinning is the ideal tackle for this type of fishing.

Important advice: when fishing from a pier, it is better to purchase all baits in a specialized store.

Grilled smarida snappers

Grilled perch (smarida) is extremely easy to prepare. The recipe is suitable for any small fish - horse mackerel, river perch, bleak.

Today we will cook perch on the grill, as we usually cook grilled fish. Friends decided to surprise me with wild Black Sea fish. They handed me a couple of kilograms of fresh frozen perch. For which we express our deep gratitude to them, all the best and sincere wishes!

Judging by the testimony of friends and the pictures, this is a Black Sea spotted perch, smarida (Spicara) - a genus of Centracanthidae fish, perch-like. Near the coast of Ukraine in the Black Sea, two species are found: striped smarid (Spicara maena) and common smarid (Spicara smaris).

However, in Crimea it is called sea bass, blue perch, and spotted perch. This is a small fish, no longer than the palm of your hand. Smarida is easily recognized by small round dark spots on the sides of the body or blue stripes along the body, depending on the variety.

I remembered how in Bulgaria our friends, with whom we vacation almost every year, grill small Black Sea fish, mainly hake, horse mackerel, and small bluefish. Therefore, there was no special search for a recipe. Smarida is sea bass, only small and very tasty. Grilled perch - smarida, it turns out great.

Grilled perch - based on a recipe from Bulgaria. By the way, the taste is very close. Everything is extremely simple: clean the fish, marinate for a short time, fry on a grill or grill pan, you can also cook tilapia fillet on the grill or mackerel on the grill.

How to catch Black Sea perch

So, you have decided to go to the sea to catch perch, then let’s study the features of fishing. The best time for fishing is considered to be the period after spawning, from early July to September. You can fish both from the shore and from a boat. Even beginners can catch perch from the shore, just look for places where there are a lot of stones and seaweed on the bottom, where small perch prefer to live, gnawing seaweed and hunting small animals. Experienced fishermen prefer to go out on the open sea by boat, where they may catch a larger and more impressive specimen. This fish is careful, it bites, and meanwhile it eats the bait. The bait is small crustaceans, sea worms, pieces of fish and raw shrimp. They catch perch using a tyrant or a bottom fishing rod.

Donka is the best tackle for smarida. But when choosing, take a telescopic fishing rod no shorter than 5 m, with a light spinning reel and 100 m of fishing line, with a diameter of 0.18-0.20 mm. Size hooks No. 3-5 are preferably thin. The float must be submersible, since sea bass is caught at a depth of more than 5 m, then use a sliding float mount. Catching this fish does not require special tricks; lower the equipped tackle no deeper than 10-13 m, then periodically raise the sinker by 0.5 m. from the bottom. Smarida attacks the bait very zealously, his bite is felt like a sharp push.

And since your movements are chaotic, you thereby hook the perch and the prey is already on the hook! Due to the desperate fluttering, the fish can easily break off, and to prevent this from happening, you need to take good care of the hooks so that they are sharp and well secured. And fishing with a tyrant is interesting and productive. Thanks to the gear designed for tyrants, you can catch several fish at once, the main thing is to find a school and you won’t be left without a catch!

Fishing for smarida always ends with excellent results; rarely does anyone complain about an empty fish tank! Happy fishing to you too!
