Winter for me is a time to renew my fishing arsenal. At this time, my collection of fishing lures is growing at an extremely unusual rate! It was on one of these beautiful sunny days that I became the owner of this extraordinary wobbler - Kosadaka Maskot XS 80F!

It’s worth noting right away that this wobbler is not an independent development of factories that produce wobblers under the Kosadaka brand. This, as they say now, is a “creative rethinking” of another Japanese wobbler Zip Baits Orbit 80SP. In general, a Japanese clone of a Japanese wobbler.

They appeared on me almost simultaneously. Kosadaka Mascot XS 80F differs from Orbit in its positive buoyancy. The wobbler is floating, while Orbit has neutral buoyancy and belongs to the suspending class, which allows it to hover motionless in the water column and thereby provoke a predator to attack. However, I won’t dwell on Orbit in more detail.

At each jerk, the wobbler makes sharp movements from side to side, imitating a wounded fish that is trying to escape the chase.

And this is a powerful irritant for a predator. It is necessary to include pauses in the wiring of the Kosadaka Ion XS 90F wobbler. It is on them that pike attacks most often occur. If you fish with the Ion 90, I advise you to use a hard leader, at least 20 cm long. It will not affect the game, but there will be significantly less overlap than when fishing with soft leaders made of fluorocarbon or leader material.

The body geometry of the wobblers is exactly the same, and the performance of both models is excellent. But “Kosadakovsky” Cord-R costs 2 times less. What about the game?

Kosadaka Cord-R is a prime example of the superiority of a copy over the original, which I mentioned above. I compared the statistics: there are many times more bites on the Kosadaka product! The movements in the water are simply mesmerizing: the wobbler plays perfectly on a uniform retrieve and responds to all types of twitching.
