Catching pike perch on white in Bashkiria

If you go fishing in Bashkiria, you can get a lot of positive emotions. Moreover, not only from the fishing process itself, but also from the beauty of these places, regardless of the season.
Bashkiria is characterized by the fact that there is a huge number of both large and small reservoirs, where up to 47 species of different fish are found. Fishing is highly effective, which cannot but please any angler, including the inexperienced. In Bashkiria there are up to 43 thousand large and small rivers, which complement lakes of various sizes and of which there are more than 3 thousand. Bashkiria is a place where any category of fishermen can realize themselves.

To make sure that every angler is able to catch any fish here, it is better to go to Bashkiria, having first studied the features of this interesting process.

Fishing in Bashkiria by season

Fishing in Bashkiria is designed for any time of the year, although each season has its own characteristics. Therefore, when going fishing, you need to know for sure that during this period the fish are biting and there is every opportunity to catch fish.

Fishing in Bashkiria in autumn by month

With the arrival of autumn comes cold weather, as daylight hours decrease. The weather in autumn in Bashkiria is characterized by its variability. The sun may be shining, but after a while the sky becomes cloudy and a cold, annoying rain begins to fall.

Fishing in September

When the weather in September is warm and sunny, it is better to look for fish in shallow water, where they prefer to bask in the sun’s rays. When it's cold outside and the water temperature drops, most fish move to deeper water. This applies to pike, catfish, roach, asp, ide, etc. During this period, it is better to catch them from the depths. Autumn fishing is characterized by the fact that the fish begin to have an autumn appetite, and they bite at everything that is offered to them.

In September, most fishermen prefer to fish from a boat. Pike can be caught using artificial bait, but asp will be better off taking live bait. Perch can be caught using both artificial baits and worms. In September, it is better not to count on catching catfish or bream. But burbot is particularly active, since it prefers colder periods.

Fishing in October

In October, when the temperature inexorably drops, the bulk of the fish prefer to move closer to their traditional wintering grounds. Towards evening, when the upper layers of the water have warmed up, albeit slightly, you can see fish walking around. Predators continue to hunt, stocking up on nutrients for the winter. Pike continues to attack artificial baits as actively as in September. At this time, burbot and catfish bite on live bait. For burbot, such weather has a positive effect, since it cannot stand heat, much less heat.

The month of October offers favorable conditions for catching predatory fish. Fishermen use various gear for this, such as spinning rods, girders or bottom fishing rods. Some anglers use regular float rods and are satisfied with the results of their fishing.

Fishing in November

In November, Bashkiria begins to be covered with snow, and the temperature outside sets below freezing, which leads to the appearance of ice on reservoirs. Moreover, ice appears, so far, only in shallow areas, and where the depth is significant, you can still fish there with the same gear. At this time, dace, roach, perch and pike are caught. Peaceful fish are mainly caught with a worm or bloodworm. During this period, it is possible to catch sabrefish, as well as other types of fish. In November you can also catch:

  • Pike.
  • Perch.
  • Zander.
  • Roach.
  • Chub.
  • Bream.
  • Burbot.
  • Guster.
  • Gudgeon.

Basically, in the month of November, most fishermen go for burbot, since it feels very good in cold water. The most promising places during this period will be river mouths.

Fishing in Bashkiria in winter

Despite the difficult climate in winter, fishing can bring significant results if taken seriously. In winter you can catch:

  • Rudd.
  • Ruff.
  • Yazya.
  • Roach.
  • Pike.
  • Pike perch.
  • Perch.
  • Grayling.

Some types of fish can be easily caught with a regular fishing rod if you attach a worm or regular dough to the hook. Predatory fish prefers to stay in river mouths. In places where there is no ice, you can try to catch grayling using a worm as bait.

When the thaw comes after the cold weather, bream, ide and chub begin to bite. Burbot can be caught on minnows or pieces of fish. You should look for fish in deep-sea areas using bottom gear. Fishing in winter in Bashkiria requires perseverance and patience, since the bite here is not stable and you have to wait a long time for it.

Fishing in Bashkiria in spring

In May, spring fishing begins in Bashkiria, which ends with the beginning of spawning. As a rule, fishermen go to the Belaya River, which is distinguished by a large number of fish, and very diverse ones. In the backwaters of the Belaya River there are catfish, which are caught using frogs, worms, and also live bait.

During this period, grayling are caught using spinners. Naturally, every fisherman takes bait with him. Fish bite on a wide variety of baits. For example:

  • On a worm.
  • On the bran.
  • For buckwheat.
  • For beetle larvae.

Fishing in Bashkiria in summer

Fishing in summer also has its own characteristics, although during this period it is possible to catch any fish in reservoirs. On hot days you shouldn’t count on an active bite, especially during the day. It will be most effective in the morning or evening hours. When the heat subsides and the sky becomes cloudy, the fish start to become active and you can catch some fish. On rainy and cool days you can count on catching burbot.

Large perch prefers to stay in the depths, but in search of food it moves into thickets or shallows. He also loves places where there are underwater obstacles in the form of fallen trees. Perch is caught using live bait, but very often follows artificial baits, especially those made of edible rubber. Fishermen use ordinary fishing rods, bottom gear or spinning rods.

Fishing only

In general, between January and March, active fishing in Bashkortostan stops. During these months, central Russia is not pleasant with warmth. For fish, a rather difficult regime begins under the ice, so fishing in winter has its own characteristics. All fish become active only in March, when melt water begins to slowly seep under the ice. The ice fishing season can open as early as December, but be prepared for a cold encounter. After all, frosts in the area can reach minus 40 degrees. But even harsh weather conditions do not stop avid fishermen. For example, at the pearl of Bashkiria, the Pavlovsk Reservoir, fishing enthusiasts gather not only from nearby settlements, but also fishermen from Yekaterinburg, Perm, and Chelyabinsk. All of them are attracted by the opportunity to leave here with a big catch. And in winter frosts, real professionals pull 600-gram and kilogram perches out of the water. However, even in a hurry, the average 200 gram perch always bites on the treasured Pavlovka. And this is just one of the most popular places in the country for a great winter getaway.

If you are just starting out in the fishing field, then remember a few tips:

  1. the fish almost never changes place during winter sleep. Therefore, if you have already found a “fishing spot”, mark it. You can return to it for fishing more than once throughout the winter;
  2. In winter, you need to start fishing during the period when the first ice has already ended (and this lasts about 2-3 weeks) and the fish begins to adapt to new living conditions. Those. on average, after 2-3 weeks after the formation of an ice crust on a reservoir, you need to wait another 5-6 days. And only then go out with your bait to hunt for bream, pike perch and burbot;
  3. Experienced fishermen know that the frosts in Bashkortostan are serious. When the ice thickness reaches 20 cm, you will no longer catch carp, crucian carp, carp or catfish. They all become numb from the cold and lie down on the bottom. But you can expect to catch roach, perch, pike or fry;
  4. To make a good catch, you need to drill about 8-10 holes on the ice. For example, the same perch loves to walk in a school from hole to hole. And then you, my dear, will pull him out.

What and who do we use in winter?
On the first ice, pike, perch, and pike perch, which have already adapted, will actively swallow the food prepared for them. A similar delicacy for them would be bark beetle larvae, bloodworms, ordinary worms or spinners.

Simple types of fish are excellently caught in the winter cold in Bashkortostan with a regular fishing rod: rudd, roach, ide. Prepare something “delicious” for them from ordinary dough mixed with herbal infusion, and your fishing will definitely be a success.

In non-frozen areas of reservoirs, you can try to catch good large grayling. It is traditionally caught with a shitika or a worm.

Of course, fishermen know that there is no universal means for fishing. Some people prefer a jig as bait, while others prefer a spinner. Fishing is primarily about relaxation, secondarily about excitement, and only then about food.

We wish you a successful winter ride!

Lake Beloe

An equally interesting place for fishing, therefore, it is also very popular among fishermen.

Catching pike perch in the summer with a spinning rod in Bashkiria

Fishing for pike perch in the summer using a spinning rod is most common on large and deep rivers, in particular on the Belaya River (Agidel), which have a fairly strong current and depths reaching 8-10 meters. Pike perch prefers to stay in such places. It does not live in muddy and shallow water areas. There are, however, exceptions. In the reservoirs of the Volga cascade, where there are many flooded forests, a strange pike perch appeared, almost black in color and humpbacked, like a large humpback perch. Apparently, it has taken root in snags and at a relatively shallow depth of no more than 3.5 meters. Apparently, this is due to the depletion of small fish in the riverbed and their appearance in the grass and snags. And the predator, as you know, always comes for fry and small fish. In another case, bershi and pike perch can go to shallows and spits during the hot period of mid-summer and only at night. This is probably the only time when you can catch this predator in the shallows.

Tackle for catching pike perch in summer is much more elegant and thinner than spring and autumn gear. And the baits are smaller in size, and significantly so. This is due to the fact that the pike perch is full and cautious at this time. The main thing for reliable catching of pike perch is the sharpness and strength of the hook, since the hard mouth of a predator breaks through with great difficulty even with a strong hook, especially if the sting of the hook gets into the bony part of its mouth.

The most common baits for catching pike perch are silicone baits mounted on a jig head or offset hook. Among them, in terms of the number of bites realized, baits made of edible rubber hold the lead, since if there was a grip, then sooner or later the pike perch will be hooked. This predator likes the salty taste of edible rubber, and it will not simply let go of the bait, but will attack again and again. Small foam fish, usually about 5 cm, are also considered successful.

The peculiarity of playing with foam rubber is that they can play even without wiring, but only under the pressure of a strong current. Being almost vertical at the bottom, these baits briskly oscillate under the current and attract fish. Also, foam fish have one more additional phase of the game, if you use a weight in the form of a lentil, that is, flattened on the sides. When it falls to the bottom, the weight rises on its edge, and then falls flat. At this moment, the bait makes a kind of somersault, spinning around the load. This is where the bite often follows.

The advantages of silicone baits or edible rubber baits are that they are very active and come in a wide variety of colors. Therefore, it is best to fish with them during a good pike perch bite. Especially catchy are the so-called Manso twisters, which have a green color with shiny inclusions, as well as pearlescent white. If you look at them in expanded form, these are clearly too large baits, especially for pike perch, but, nevertheless, the fanged predator is caught very well with these large twisters, the length of which can be twelve centimeters. Various vibrotails are equally successful.

But in some cases, spinnerbaits are the most effective. For some reason, their strange design is attractive to pike perch, apparently due to the presence of two active elements on one bait. This is the petal of the “spinner” and the soft bait on the hook of the spinnerbait. Typically a twister is used. When the bite is weak, a foam fish is placed on the hook of the spinnerbait.

Various worms and Long John are also very effective. If they are mounted on an offset hook, then these are excellent non-hooking hooks.

Deep diving wobblers are also considered very successful baits. In some cases there is no alternative to them. They are especially good for the rafting method, when the bait is simply thrown downstream and then returned upstream with uneven reeling and pauses.

Catching pike perch in the summer with a spinning rod during the hot period brings success more often at night. Then minnow wobblers and narrow spoons, as well as spinners, work best. All these baits can work in the upper layers of water and in the shallowest waters, where pike perch often come out en masse on warm summer nights. Then you can hear the real fight of the pike perch chasing the fry. But it is imperative that next to such spits there is a channel hole or some kind of deep depressions where the pike perch goes for the day.

Paid fishing in Bashkiria

Paid fishing is increasingly occupying the minds of many, including experienced fishermen. This is due to the fact that in such reservoirs there is always a sufficient amount of various fish, because they are constantly stocked with fish. As a rule, this guarantees a catch, unlike fishing in a wild reservoir. In addition, there is no need to search for a promising place: here, no matter where you sit, a catch is guaranteed everywhere. But that's not all! Every paid reservoir has all the conditions for normal recreation. Moreover, both the fishermen themselves and their family members can take advantage of the comfort. Here you can go to the bathhouse or eat in a cozy cafe, and you can spend the night in comfortable rooms. The most important thing is that the prices here are affordable, and the places are beautiful, which is conducive to relaxation.

Among the many fishing bases, the most visited ones should be noted. These include:

  • Base "Mirror carp".
  • Base "Fishing Ufa".
  • Base "Fisherman's Wharf".
  • Base "Calm".
  • Parus base.
  • Base "Fisherman's Dream".
  • Base "Good Deed".

Bashkiria has wonderful places to relax, such as:

  • Atysh waterfall.
  • Mount Iremel.
  • Kandrykul.
  • National Park "Bashkiria".
  • "Kush-Tau".

Such vacation spots are distinguished by beautiful nature and clean air, which cannot but attract tourists.

Fishing in Altai in July

A little background.

The main purpose of the vacation was relaxation.....

But damn it! What holiday is better for a fisherman than fishing?!

Check out at 01:00 am.

11 people are traveling including 3 children under 7 years old.

The first day was dedicated to those who have never been to Altai.

Chemal, Chemal hydroelectric power station, Patmos Island - got there on Saturday, 500 people in line.

I sit quietly on the sidelines in the shade, dreaming about grayling and trout, I saw it all….. it’s become sadder here……….

A crowd of tourists, a persistent smell of fumes from those who meet and overtake on the path to the island, those who fall and rise for a long time. The path to the island became wider and artificial steps appeared. It was somehow more interesting before...

We are going from Chemal to where we can get without sleeping all night. I want to get to Bolshoi Yaloman, I previously stayed there for the night (by the way, according to rumors, the warmest point in Altai). We need to stop for the night, tomorrow we will go to Bashkaus.

On the way, we learn that it has been raining in the Ulagansky region for a month. Thoughts, what about Bashkaus, what color of water, where to look for fish in high water? By the way, while we were away, we were told that the water in the Ob had risen by a meter.

It starts to rain at the Chike-Taman pass. It becomes dark and sad at the thought that the tents need to be unfurled in the rain. Maybe there are houses at the base beyond the pass?

We pull into first base, there are no seats. There is one on the hill for tents for 4 people in 1 car for 700 rubles (250 rubles for a car, 250 rubles for a tent, 50 rubles for each person including children).

It’s in the rain, just stand on the territory of the base!?!…….

We drive further to Yaloman. Miraculously, we find a vacant village at the base with a kitchen extension without windows. The windows were patched with film. The rain is getting heavier - it’s brutal...

It’s dry in Ail, so we put up 2 tents inside. Some sleep in cars, others in tents in the village.

In the morning there was beauty all around, the sun appeared. One thing overshadows us: 1 couple with a child left the race, a sore throat, we ate too much ice cream on Chemal.

They sell a lot of things now from trays on the territory of the Chemal hydroelectric station. I was outraged by one circumstance. Smoked timeshats are sold openly. Weight no more than 1 kg. I wish we could boycott such sellers. But out of dozens of people there are buyers who lustfully take away these smoked fry... And so on every day. Apparently, only the absence of this type of fish in Altai will make people think.

Let's move on. The bridge over the Kubadra River, there is such a roar that you can’t hear the person standing next to it. There are fallen forests along the banks, the color of the water is that of strongly brewed tea. Bashkaus is the same. I have never seen these rivers like this. All…. Fishing in Bashkaus is over. Later we learn that at the confluence of Chebdar and Bashkaus the picture is similar. Next, the Katu-Yaryk pass is beautiful and dangerous.

Going down is easier than going up, 3 CRV cars, 3-liter Mark, Nissan Sunny. A friend of the brand had previously stormed the pass in a self-made turbo Corolla, but it didn’t work out. After 3 unsuccessful attempts, I pulled this Corolla on a CRV in 2007 into a pass with a rope. Then the adrenaline rush was full...

It’s good that now a truck with a cable goes to the pass to the first platform. This pleasure costs 1,500 rubles. Looking ahead again. Mark surprised me on the way back. The rear-wheel drive went into the pass with a growl on the first try, perhaps the 3 liters of the car manufactured in 1994 did their job. It was funny to watch the faces of people descending from Katu-Yaryk in a column on prepared UAZs. There was confusion in the eyes. How did this car on 17 “low-profile electrical tape” climb into the pass before their eyes???????

The last straw was the Nissan sleigh not yet tied to the truck by a cable and standing at the start of the pass. :) Disappointment was already visible in the eyes of the owners of the prepared “hive”. If these guys are reading. I’ll be honest – the Nissan sleigh was dragged on a rope. And you need to look for the road for your combat “Ulyanov” anywhere on Argut to Lake Koksu or on the trout lake where we fished at the end of our trip.

We are driving along the Chulyshman River. Every suitable patch of land for a tent is occupied. I have never seen so many people on Chulyshman.

Garbage and bottles along the river. Along 2 bases on the river I saw 2 smoking pits with garbage - apparently this was an attempt to escape from pollution. At the entrance to Balyktuyul there is an eloquent poster:

Where can you go fishing here?!!!

It’s getting dark, we decide to stop at the base opposite the stone mushrooms.

New day, 8 am, I rush to a small threshold. There are already 6 people standing.....

Hmmm... I went fishing... So much for the great Chulyshman. There weren't so many people before.

There is a glimmer of hope for the final 3 days at the KHF. I stand at the very top of the threshold - complete zero for 2 hours of throwing all kinds of wobblers and gossip.

The second day everyone decided to go mushroom hunting. Well, I already went to them and saw the Uchar waterfall, it’s beautiful... so I'm going fishing. : )

7:00 am I run to the doorstep. The first cast of gossip and a small grayling was caught. The sun rises from behind the mountain. There are no more bites.

I'm returning to base. Friends look at the fish with interest and, to applause, they present a medal with a drawn fisherman and fish (these can now be purchased in stores). It's funny and very nice.

In the afternoon we reached Teletskoye, the view is not bad, but what a garbage dump it is. Garbage in bags and without bags in piles. What kind of creature is this - man...

Seeing my despondency at the lack of fishing, my friends turn to me with the question: “Where is the fishing?” There is 1 day left on this river.

I can count all the promising places with so many people on my fingers: Bashkaus - with water similar to strong brewed tea, Chebdar - similarly, the upper reaches of Chulyshman - not realistic with small children, the last hope is the “Pit of the Communards” - that’s where we’re going.

Arriving at the camp, we gather for mushrooms. I go down to the water near the spilled “Chulyshman”, thinking, maybe I can transport everyone to the opposite shore, to Chulcha (also one of the promising places for fishing), I take a closer look, in the water near the shore and I see hundreds of small graylings. The water is simply teeming with them, right off the shore of the base.

Well, apparently during the month of rain the river overflowed and made it possible for Grayling to survive. Plenty of food along the flooded banks will help replenish the fish stocks in the river.

This is nature... Finds new ways from human dominance.

Let's hope that in 2 years there will be grayling in Chulyshman, since I have not seen so many young grayling in 12 years of visiting this river.

Well, here is the “pit of the communards”. One of the deepest places on Chulyshman. We quickly set up camp and disperse. One stands in the middle, the second at the exit of the pit, and I at the entrance.

It's getting dark, time is short. I don’t experiment with spinners and wobblers, I just spread gossip. Immediately bite. Grayling 200 grams. There were no more bites. In the dark I returned to the camp, a friend of the one who was standing in the middle of the pit had 2 small fish, one grayling, the other whitefish. I have never caught whitefish on Chulyshman. I believe that the baby ran away from the KHF. Although it may be in Chulyshman, as a local representative of the ichthyofauna. The third has zeros at the exit from the pit.

They decided to meet the last morning on Chulyshman at 5:00. We woke up and left. Zero bites. At about 8 o'clock I was left alone. And I decided to try singles and zeros prepared for trout on timeshat spoons. I put on a black pinwheel with lettuce specks and throw it on. I calmly walk out of the pit and see how a 300 gram grayling is chasing after her, I didn’t take it. What a miracle. Grayling on a spinner?! Never in Altai, no matter how many times I tried, have I caught grayling with a spoon. I saw a video about the Yenisei, fishing in the north where they catch it with spoons, but there the grayling is larger. The second cast and not far from the shore there was a blow, someone’s shadow flashed in the water - it was already something larger. I run to the camp to rearrange the spool with the cord on the fishing line (I used the cord for gossip, so as not to break it when casting), maybe the grayling is afraid of the cord, which is why it takes the lure so hesitantly.

5-10 minutes pass and I return; the sun has risen from behind the mountain, illuminating the exit from the pit. There were no more bites. Then he cursed himself, saying why did he go get the fishing line, he could have caught the trophy. Eh, I would like one more day in the pit, at least an evening, but I need to get ready for the KHF pay camp.

So we overcome the pass, part with some of our friends and children, and the four of us go to the tollbooth.

We were greeted warmly and taken on a Ulyana with a trailer to the mountains.

Our fighting friend:

The road took 40-50 minutes, if you can call it a road. There are stones, ravines, and northern dwarf birch all around. I believe that for lovers of mountain off-roading this is the optimal route. Having arrived, we unloaded onto the boat since the direct road was washed away due to rains and we had to walk the last 500 m to the base by water.

Let's unload. Nature is simply superb. Bright colors of flowers.

Lake 89 hectares:

Warm house.

I take all the wobblers and small spoons. I am transported to promising places (the cost of fishing with a manager acting as an instructor is 500 rubles per day). I walk along the shore, getting my feet tangled in a northern birch tree. Cast after cast, changing baits every 100 meters. Bite. The clutch is cracking, the fish moves from side to side. I pull out 500-600 grams of trout. Pants full of happiness, as they say. There's a thought in my head. I am entitled to 1 kg per day for free, everything over 400 rubles per kg. I decided to let go. I throw the shore further until nightfall. There were no more bites. That is OK. Tomorrow I will catch my trophy fish for 2 kg for free :)

The next day at 4 we go without a boat along the lake. It's very difficult to walk. The dwarf birch tangles its legs, holes and stones are hidden in its thickets, and there is water almost everywhere. Having spread out along the shore, we begin to cast methodically. Silence for now. Everyone except me was wearing gossip. Since the instructor said that trout also bite well on flies, although a large one can break off, so everyone has the clutch fully untwisted. I show the girl how to stop gossip. A bite occurs immediately. A little resistance and trout on the shore. Small trout 300-400 grams.

I didn’t even manage to take a longer video of how I fished it out. Well, the start is impressive. I put a wobbler, and three have proven gossip. Changing spinners and small wobblers, I methodically cast the coastal zone. Went to dumps and shallows. Zero. Until the evening, we caught 4 small trout up to 10 cm in size, which were safely released.

The thought appeared in my head why I released this trout yesterday. What are we doing wrong, why, apart from 2 trout, I didn’t catch anything else. What seemed to be taken into account were all the depths and the direction of the wind carrying the insects. We walked 3-4 km along the coast. These fucking northern birches more than once forced me and all my companions to bow and fall in front of the lake. I ended up on a paysite. There are fish here, I see splashes. Damn it, we are entitled to 6 kg of free trout for 2 men in 3 days. We only paid 2,400 rubles for fishing trips. Where's my fish?!

Stop. I find myself thinking. What a grabber. 2 days on the lake and decided that you know everything about the RNI and LNU of this reservoir. After all, you know, even if it’s a payer, no one will put a fish on your hook.

Day 3. The manager of this lake arrives. We spend a long time talking about fish farming, stocking density, raising juveniles, providing services to our fishermen, and discussing capricious clients. I understand the scale of the work. I learn about a number of lakes taken where all the fish have been completely destroyed and no one is engaged in fish farming.

We are driving around the lake with the manager, looking for promising places, zero. In a fit of unsuccessful fishing, accompanying my friend, the manager sets up a net. Having learned this, I tell them with a smile that they are grabbers.

Evening, almost twilight. Our girls are starting to catch peleds for gossip. I caught one too. The peled came out to feed at dusk, the bite lasted 30 minutes.

Re going. Home tomorrow. The manager removes the net in the morning. A bucket of selected trout and large peled. He says that he hasn’t caught a big one yet. A conversation with the manager arises in my head about cool clients who arrived in cool cars, who screamed at the top of their lungs, saying they came far away and didn’t catch anything, there’s no fish here and that’s it. Then an offer was made to supply the clients with the desired number of networks. With only one condition, you take all the fish. The next morning, a cauldron filled with trout approached the shore. Silence…. Counting out bills. Quick packing and departure.

We were given a bucket of fish for free. Perhaps due to the exchange of experience, so to speak, but most likely from the pure heart and understanding of the business that this person is engaged in. There are really a lot of fish in the lake, but you have to try to catch them.

I had to clean the fish before leaving.

In the stomachs of large trout there were... leeches. Well, who would have thought that you need to fish for leeches?????!

It seems that in Altai the color of insects changes every week. It is necessary to have an arsenal of flies of all colors of the rainbow in order to find fish.

ps I know for sure. That I will come to relax on this lake more than once. At least we've already booked a house for the new year.

I really enjoyed fishing on this pond. And it's not about the number of fish caught.

Probably it’s about spending time fishing and enjoying this activity.

Although of course this is my personal opinion.
