Series features
The Maximus Striker spinning rod belongs to the lower segment of mid-budget fishing rods supplied to our market. Perhaps this is what initially attracted the attention of domestic fishermen. Later, having tested the rods in action, spinners were convinced of their performance characteristics and high quality.
Stryker is a sensitive spinning rod suitable for fishing fanged
In the manufacturing process of the Maximus Striker spinning rod, only proven materials and components are used:
- The blank is made of carbon fiber with high modularity and increased strength parameters;
- The blank is equipped with rings in a reinforced single-support frame with SIC inserts;
- Tulip anti-flood design;
- The handle is classic, made of cork;
- Reel seat with bottom fixation Super Sensitive System.
In general, each model in the Stryker series is a high-quality tool that provides the angler with ample opportunities. With one “stick,” a spinning angler can successfully fish with a variety of baits in any conditions.

Thanks to the ergonomic shape of the handle, the Maximus Striker-X spinning rod fits comfortably and tightly in the hand. The improved reel holder is combined with a cork foregrip. Increased sensory properties improve control over the tackle and provide the possibility of a timely response to a bite. The lower nut with a graphite sleeve and a metal ring firmly fixes the coil and holds it securely without bevels or vibrations.
The Maximus Striker-X spinning rod is perfectly protected from overloads by a modern guide system. It consists of several access rings with different dimensions, which vary from an enlarged butt ring to a tulip. The placement scheme improves the taper of the line at the entrance, facilitates its dynamics, and increases the throwing properties of the blank. The frame is mounted on a two-support leg with a single-point fastening. The design of the rings and tulip prevents entanglement and allows you to quickly resume work if the cast is unsuccessful. The silicon carbide insert reduces wear on the gear and extends its service life.
The design of the Maximus Striker-X spinning rod attracts with a spectacular combination of red and black. A wide range of modifications allows you to choose between versions of all classes, except ultra-light and its heavy opposite. Height varies between two- and three-meter extremes. When dismantling the tackle, the height of the form is halved. This allows you to carry the spinning rod in your hands, transport it in a personal car or on public transport without the discomfort typical of higher competitors.
The updated line of well-known spinning rods from the Maximus Striker-X company are rods of a new level. Like its predecessors, a fair quality-price ratio is inherent in this series. The spinning rod blank has not undergone any changes and is still made of high-modulus HME graphite. But the gear kit is completely new. SIC insert guides are housed in Tangle Free frames that prevent line tangles.
The ultra-modern K-Guide System placement concept is used. The Strike-X reel seat is more responsive with a graphite nut extension that transfers vibration better. Maximus Striker-X spinning rods combine such qualities as: high information content, extreme sending power and a good power reserve. The spinning rod handles are made of cork and have an ergonomic design.
Spinning rod Maximus Striker X 27M
Advantages: Lightweight, so far only used for 2 fishing trips.
Disadvantages: I didn’t like the fastening of the rings when I started to disassemble the spin. (It’s better not to insert it too much, I could barely pull it out..?) So, I rested my hand a little on the 2nd ring, so it cracked at the solder. Now there is a crack. It doesn't wobble, of course, but it's not pleasant.
Spinning rod Maximus Striker X 21M
Pros: Relatively lightweight. Balanced perfectly with the lightweight Okuma Ceymar C-25 FD reel.
I walked with a Maximus Striker X 21M spinning rod in the beginning of autumn along small rivers - ideal for precise casting even with light wobblers (we flew between bushes with snipers), although according to the light test it was not at all suitable. The feel at the beginning of the test range is simply excellent, the middle and overload are even better. It’s a pleasure to throw from a boat (the size and rigidity are ideal), and it doesn’t put any strain on your hand when throwing.
I took a spinning rod specifically for twitching, my hand doesn’t get tired during the day. Jig baits also cast well with any load; due to their rigidity, they throw even better than the Maximus High Energy-X.
Spinning rod Maximus Striker X 21M 2.1m/10-30g
History of choosing a spinning rod Maximus Striker X 21M.
I already have a Maximus Striker 240MH / 15-40g - its “bell-shaped action” and its safety margin suited me quite well. This “hammer” (English translation of Striker) was used for all kinds of boat fishing, where jig alternates with twitching or fishing with spoons and spinners. Wrapping a large pike that has rushed into the wall of reeds, or lifting a zander under the 5-point from the depth - with the Striker it’s easy..
Maximus Striker 240MH / 15-40g is easy to “twitch” even small jerks. But, when in the Ladoga expanses you spend hour after hour twitching with light wobblers of 5-9 cm, your hand gets tired and I would like to have a lighter spinning rod. And when fishing with a jig in the range of 15-20 grams, a more sensitive spinning rod was needed, which is not afraid of overloads on the test, with a good margin of safety for fishing zanders and pikes.
So I wanted a new spinning rod, which should be light, have a sensitive form, fast action and a decent power reserve. With him, I planned to catch pike and perch on small rivers, where you have to wade through thick vegetation and a long spinning rod is inconvenient. There in one river the fishing is done either with jigs, or with spinners, and in some places with twitching, so a light medium-test all-rounder will be just right!
The new Striker-X model, according to reviews from friends, received a new form and became more sensitive.
So, from my payday, I took my Striker’s “younger brother” Maximus Striker X 21M 2.1m/10-30g from the new series as a “light boat station wagon”.
The spinning rod weighs only 127 grams, but it has the strong “rod” characteristic of Strikers.
The first test of the Maximus Striker X was on pike boat fishing along the coastal zones of the bays of the Gulf of Finland, with depths from 30 cm to 1.5 meters. In some places under the water there were islands of last year’s reeds and grass; there it was necessary to resolutely fish out the pikes, not allowing them to go into the thickets and break loose.
My friend and I planned to use small jerks, jigs and minnow wobblers. In the morning the weather predicted a storm, so we decided to fish as much as possible.
We started fishing with light jerks of 28 grams, tested last year.
We were looking for places where pike were concentrated and did all the wiring with the Maximus Striker as it should, but on this day the pike was capricious and did not bite this bait.
Looking at the successes of our neighbors in fishing at the next fishing spot, we took out shallow minnow wobblers 110 mm, 12 grams. Not every light spinning rod can pull them through properly so that they “fly away” in a jerk the way pikes need. Maximus Striker coped with the task and Fortune smiled. My friend and I caught a pike each. During the fishing, the spinning rod performed well and worked on every jerk. At first it was unusual to drag a pike with such a light “twig,” but then I got used to it and quickly began to drag it to the boat.
By noon the storm was gradually intensifying. The sun went behind the clouds. The fishing neighbors sailed home.
We continued fishing with wobblers, but to no avail. We returned to the morning points, where I tried fishing with loaded tires. It was nice to feel through the spinning rod how the tail of a large pike vibrating tail plays on the retrieve. But today the pike only “hit” the bait. And my friend immediately threw an unhooked spinner into the bite area and got a bite, although the pike got away. I jokingly swore that my friend had “trained” “my” pike and now it would be smarter.
And I also installed a spoon with an open tee to avoid unnecessary pike movements.
With the spinners, the good sensory sensitivity of the spinning rod showed itself just in time. I felt the play of the bait, the touch of the bait on the reeds and algae. And if something caught on the hooks, then the spinning rod immediately conveyed the feeling of a game failure. With a heavier spinning rod, which a friend was fishing with, there was no such sensitivity; he made retrieves even with algae clinging to the tee and fished the area worse. As a result, he had 1 more bite.
And I caught 2 pikes from that point, because they sat securely on the tee, and the light and sensitive spinning rod allowed me to better control the game and retrieve.
As a result - 3 pikes for test fishing.
One of the pikes while fishing at a depth of about 40 cm, while jerking, ran into some island of last year’s grass, I thought I would lose it, but with the new Maximus Striker-X I managed to “swing” it and pull it out. The stronger wind and stormy whitefish convinced us to stop fishing.
The Maximus Striker X 21M received its second test in boat fishing with a medium-heavy jig for pike perch, along the sea fairway, from depths of 10-13 meters.
The bite was excellent that day, the lightweight and sensitive Maximus Striker X loudly transmitted all the bites and cut through the mouths of pike perch with a bang. It was softer than its “big brother” - the Maximus Striker 240MH “pike cutter” and shorter, so the hook had to be done in a sweeping manner.
At first, it was unusual to use the light Striker X to fish from the depths, because I had previously fished with a longer “drene.” But then I got better at it and started pumping and reeling in a little more often, and I managed to drag pike perch like before. Due to greater delicacy with this spinning rod, I was able to even catch a bream that pecked at my bait! Previously, they left because of broken lips or were only received with stains. It has also become better to catch perch with this spinning rod.
All day I fished with “Cheburashki” with an overload of dough, weighing 33-42 grams, not counting the weight of the bait. There were fears that the spinning rod would not work. But, like its “big brother” - the Maximus Striker X 21M - it withstood the overload without problems, and expectations for the safety margin were justified.
On that day, the advantages of Maximus Striker X 21M were revealed 100%. My partner in the boat caught 8 pike perch weighing 5.2 kg, I caught 12 pike perch weighing 10.9 kg. In the photo there are pike perch in the bathtub.
I fished with a lighter spinning rod and a thinner line, the sensitivity of the tackle and the control of the retrieve were “appreciated” by the fish, although my friend and I were fishing in the same boat - my pike perch bit on average larger and more often.
In conclusion, I can only recommend this spinning rod to you for the same fishing conditions as described in the review. For me, this spinning rod has worked for its price - both with a pleasant feeling and catches during the first fishing trips.
And shore fishing with this spinning rod, including in small rivers, is still waiting in the wings and will definitely be described in a separate review.

Reviews of the Maximus Striker spinning rod
The Maximus Striker SS24MH spinning rod takes its rightful place in my arsenal. I purchased it on the recommendation of one experienced spinning rod for very specific tasks - I catch pike in dense thickets of grass, the so-called “toad fields”, where not every rod can cope with difficult conditions.
A few words about the characteristics of the spinning rod. Two-piece fast action rod, 240 cm long. Weight - 160 grams. The South Korean manufacturer indicated the test as 15-40 grams. In transport condition, it is 120 cm long. The blank is made of high-modulus graphite. The handle is made of cork. The rings are of good quality, with special inserts. The tulip is of a special design; it reduces line overlaps to almost nothing. The reel seat is screw-type and reliable, but it’s not so easy to insert the reel into it; you have to do it literally “with a creak.”
I got the rod for a little over $50. I think it's well worth the money. In the hand it seems quite light, although with a light reel it was a little noisy. I had to pick up a heavier one. As I already said, it was bought for catching pike in the thickets from a boat. Anyone who has fished in such conditions knows that bites happen there often, however, it is not so easy to pull them out. The fish often goes under snags or into strong thickets. Conventional fishing with “universal” tackle is not suitable here. You need to drag as intensely and quickly as possible. Otherwise, instead of a pike, you will pull out several kilograms of grass, which the predator will wrap around itself, and then get away with it safely. I think this story is familiar to many spinners. At the same time, using a powerful spinning rod of great length creates a lot of inconvenience and additional difficulties, especially considering the fact that fishing is done from a boat. So 240 cm, it seems to me, is the optimal length.
“Stryker” works normally with baits lighter than the lower limit of the dough. Spoons weighing 10 grams fly where they need to go without any problems. The upper test is a little too high, it seemed to me. It is quite problematic to cast a heavy wobbler weighing more than 30 grams normally, this is my opinion. Lures weighing 10-30 grams can be thrown both far and accurately. The rod is also quite satisfactorily suitable for jerking. I also fished in shallow water, including with poppers and other floating baits. I also used it in an unusual way - for catching pike with live bait with a float. Spinning allows you to throw the equipment right out the window among the thickets of cattails and sedges, and then successfully - quickly and “forcibly” drag the fish through the thickets to the boat.
The action of the bait, its wiring is not bad, but there are problems with bites if a very small pike takes it. But here you need some experience with any gear so as not to confuse the predator’s grip with hitting the grass or getting caught, which is a common thing in such conditions. But in general, the spinning rod has good sensitivity - the play of the bait is well controlled by both the hand and the rod tip.
As for fish, I repeat - it makes sense to buy such a rod only if you really catch serious fish. For small items within 1 kg, such a spinning rod is not needed - there are many more suitable options.
I was also pleased with the inserts of the rings - on the one hand, they do not seem to wear out the cord, on the other hand, the cord does not damage them. But, still, the most important thing for me is that the rod is powerful, it can be safely dragged right through the grass, with the clutch tightened. Cutting in the grass also has to be done sweepingly and sharply; not every tackle will withstand it. True, I haven’t caught pike larger than 4 kg with it yet, I hope I’ll have the opportunity to test it on a real trophy. But in general, I must say that not every spinning rod in this price segment has such characteristics as this one.
