Primorsky Krai is rich in rivers, artificial and natural reservoirs. Naturally, in such a water-rich region there should be an abundance of fish of various types, attractive to lovers of fishing and tasty fish.

By the way, the number of rivers that flow or originate there exceeds six thousand. It’s no wonder you get lost among such an abundance of rivers and it’s difficult to decide which one to go to in order to be guaranteed to enjoy fishing and not return in a bad mood and empty-handed.

So, fish in Primorye is found in abundance in the following rivers: Van Chin (aka Milogradovka), Ussuri, Partizanskaya, Sungacha, Avvakumovka, Ilistaya, Bologennaya, Maksimovka, Litovka, Mikhailovka, Groznaya, Margaritovka, Abramovka, Alekseevka, Amgu, Belaya, Amru and many, many others. Let us dwell in more detail on the most fertile rivers in terms of fishing. From their waters you can catch taimen, catfish, silver carp, pike, carp, crucian carp, pike perch, burbot, snakehead, grayling, lenok and minnow, gudgeon, etc.

For example, the Amur River and its tributary the Ussuri are ideal for catching taimen, grayling and lenok, in places where the waters are deep enough and fast, and the width is insignificant. You should look for such a fishing place in the upper reaches of rivers. The ideal time for catching taimen is a moonless night; in addition, you should refuse a flashlight or any additional lighting, since this fish is a very careful predator, and it is not for nothing that it reaches a weight of 56-105 kilograms and lives up to 55 years. To catch such a long-lived giant, you need rare luck, coupled with caution and patience.

On Ussuri you can also catch large pike weighing up to ten kilograms, quite good crucian carp, carp, and chebak. A particularly good catch can be obtained starting from mid-September, when the fish “rolls down” from the upper reaches of the river almost to the Amur itself. And, towards the end of September, the Siberian roach, better known as chebak, is excellently caught using various baits (dough, maggots, earthworms, corn). It reaches a small weight, up to only three kilograms, but has remarkable taste. It is fried, dried, stewed, smoked, salted.

During the rafting season, as soon as the cold weather begins, you can start catching (combining with rafting) taimen, grayling and lenok in Samarga, Maksimovka, Bikin. The main methods of fishing are spinning and fly fishing; you can equally effectively fish from the shore, from a boat, or by rafting. It should be borne in mind that the rivers of the Primorsky Territory attract not only fishing enthusiasts, but also professionals. Here you can find many recreation centers where you can chat with instructors, rent equipment and gear, and find out the best fishing spots for catching a certain type of fish. But, do not forget that fish are a shy creature with good eyesight and hearing; in crowded places it is very timid, so you should choose secluded, deserted places for fishing.

You can fish in the rivers of the Primorsky Territory at almost any time of the year, with the exception of spawning, the time of which is different for each species of aquatic inhabitants. For example, in the Arsenyevka River (tributaries and floods of the river are taken into account) you should not fish in order to avoid problems with the authorities from April 20 to July 20. In the Krivaya River, the ban is valid for a month: from the 20th of August to the 20th of September, etc. For each body of water and type of fish, the terms and rules are different. If you have the desire and opportunity to fish during spawning, you should worry in advance about obtaining a permit for sport or recreational fishing and fish for your own pleasure. In general, if you want to catch a great pike, snakehead or taimen, there is no better place than the rivers of the Primorsky Territory.

The rivers of the Primorsky Territory are rich in biological resources, and if you are going fishing, the main thing is to stock up on the right bait and patience. Then the result will be a glorious catch, which you won’t be ashamed to show off to your friends.
